Had my cardiac catheterization yesterday. No cardiac artery blockages. They were able to go in through my right wrist. Can't lift more than ten pounds with my right arm the next three days.

Right wrist now unbandaged. Two tiny red marks on it. Next scheduled medical visit is Tuesday morning. Need to call internist and cardiologist for appointments. They said to wait a week unless I had a fever or developed an infection at the surgical site. Just checked my temperature, I'm 98.4, their action level is 100.5 although I'm cooler in the morning.

Tuesday the 15th, I had visits with three doctors:
Wound care - Wound on right calf had improved to the point where it needs no more treatment, but now I have one on the bottom of my right big toe. It had mild problems earlier on, but it had deteriorated. Wound care doctor scheduled me with the podiatrist, who I went to three hours later.
Podiatrist - Examined and X-rayed right foot. He did some cleanup on it and prescribed topical and oral antibiotics. Come back to see him in a week. Went to get up and I was dizzy and staggering.
Internist - Shares lobby with podiatrist. They put me in a wheelchair and rolled me over to my internist's office. He evaluated me and my blood pressure was very low. He decided to take me off the diuretics my cardiologist has me on because they were too much. He also ordered some blood work. Come back to see him in two weeks.
Wednesday the 16th was doctor-free.

Had home health care Thursday. The nurse took my vital signs and rebandaged my foot. I got to rebandage it this afternoon. It has a crater on the bottom of the big toe.
Tuesday afternoon, my internist did a complete blood count. White blood cell count was slightly elevated. Glucose was 101 non-fasted. My kidney function was below normal but I suspect that was because I was on too much diuretic.

Had visit from home health nurse Tuesday afternoon. Took vital signs (blood pressure was 120/70 controlled by medication) and rebandaged the crater on my right big toe. Crater goes back to podiatrist Wednesday morning.

Went to podiatrist Wednesday morning. He said things looked considerably better. Need to rebandage the big toe daily. I go back in two weeks. Before then, I have two medical appointments with other doctors.

Went through my Medigap insurance EOBs. I'm getting my money's worth out of the Medigap insurance in 2020. And they haven't yet processed the cardiac catheterization (which was roughly $800 after Medicare paid).

Fell asleep on the living room sofa Wednesday morning. Still on living room sofa when the home health nurse came. She evaluated me sitting up in the living room, they normally do it sitting at the dining room table.
Went to sleep specialist Thursday morning. I commented my CPAP mask is leaking too much. He agreed. Got appointment with sleep equipment supplier Friday morning. His group practice is not going to get any COVID-19 vaccine because they do not have backup power for their refrigeration. They don't have shingles vaccine for the same reason.

Went to my Durable Medical Equipment supplier this morning. Got a new CPAP mask, I'd used the old one long enough that I got the new one free. Had to pay $20 for the CPAP mask headgear, the masks last three months while the headgear lasts six months. Looking forward to a better night's sleep tonight.

Slept ten hours Saturday night and Sunday morning. Woke up only once in that time. Woke up thirsty in the three o'clock hour Monday morning and didn't get back to sleep.
Been having Medicare home health since the middle of November. The authorization finally caught up with the fact they're doing home health services.

Went to podiatrist this morning. He commented the crater is down to five millimeters. He plans to see me in two weeks.
I was commenting about COVID-19 vaccine and he said he hadn't had it yet. Although he's on staff at Houston HCA Healthcare and the hospital chain that's getting a lot of vaccine is Houston Methodist.

Had a home health nurse come visit Monday morning. She took a picture of the crater in the bottom of my right big toe and rebandaged it.
Following medical claims through the Medicare process. My $203 Medicare Part B deductible for 2021 all went for CPAP supplies this year. I got a three-month supply of some items and a six-month supply of others back on the eighth of the month. Now, I end out having to pay for very little except for one of my medications.

Got on the waitlist for COVID-19 vaccination sponsored by the Harris County Health Department. Will be looking to see where else I can get it because the Health Department recommends looking for other sources. If I come up with someplace else (like my local pharmacy) I can skip the Health Department.

Had a podiatrist appointment this morning. Slow but steady progress on reducing the crater on the bottom of my right big toe. Next appointment scheduled in two weeks.
