Got distracted by things (commenting about news articles on That Other Site (somebody even posted one from The Onion!) and didn't finally get lunch until a bit after four o'clock. Didn't take my lunchtime pills until then. I could tell I was overdue taking them. But I can tell they're working now.
Slept great last night and took my last dose of ciprofloxacin this morning.

Report on the news that ExxonMobil in Baytown had an injury in their recent fire sufficiently bad that first responders triaged him to the hospital. Somebody with company authority said, "No, you're going with the others." Seems the others went to somewhere else to be looked at that wasn't a hospital. Lawyer representing the employee said that if someone with a work injury goes to a hospital, it's a OSHA reportable event. At the least, the conflicting evaluations (one medical expert saying he should go to the hospital, employer trying and succeeding in convincing the individual to go against medical advice) gets attention where there shouldn't be any.

Spent most of Friday evening in the ER. Had trouble peeing. They ended out giving me IV fluid replacement and IV antibiotics. Also, the first time I've ever been given morphine (although I'd had codeine, which is a prodrug for morphine). Think I'm better now, though I woke up and went to the living room, where I fell asleep on the sofa.

Went out and got two prescriptions this afternoon, both dealing with pain control. They gave me a loading dose of IV antibiotics in the ER. On the way back home, I went by Jack in the Box and got a chicken teriyaki bowl and three egg rolls.

Annual Medical Checkup Day
Observed annually on August 11th All these days where the main medical facilities open are urgent cares and emergency rooms. Although a lot of urgent cares do do sports physicals.

You wouldn’t believe it given the fact they used four of them in my last three medical treatments.

Got a urology appointment in the two o'clock hour Wednesday (August 14) afternoon. Been having problems on and off since the last full week of July. Never been to a urologist before. Every time I go to a specialist for the first time, I notice they have their own unique twist on medical practice. I thought the best was the extra comfy chair in the podiatrist's office so he could examine the patient's feet. I think the one that stuck out was at a pulmonologist who had a wall hanging with pictures of all the medication inhalers on the market on his wall.

Every time I go to a specialist for the first time, I notice they have their own unique twist on medical practice. Went to the urologist, and they took a detailed medical history of what's been going on. His office staff scheduled some procedures for the morning of the 20th and the afternoon of the 27th. After all the results are in, we should have a good idea what's going on. He's concentrating on the bladder more than any other area of the urinary tract. I think the one on the 27th I'll know what he found at that time. Usual experience with an endoscopic procedure.

Wife went to the "Breast Center" for a mammogram. Normally this takes an hour. But we got there at 12:45 as ordered and office was closed. Opened at 12:50 to allow her to complete paper work for 1PM appointment. Then receptionist says they do not have orders from the PCP. Called office but no one answers. Wife says PCP staff do not return from lunch until 2 PM. Waited in office while other ladies come and go. At 2 PM they finally get an answer and orders came right away. Wife goes in but then there is another problem and the radiologist needs to talk to doctor. But he does not return call until after 3PM. Meanwhile I sit in reception area where there is no cell phone reception, wi-fi for only ten minutes, and by 3:30 I am the only person in the waiting area wondering if they found something so bad they sent her to ER or surgery area. Asked receptionist and she explained the problem. Wish they would have said something before. Finally at 4:10 PM we leave. Good news, nothing abnormal found. Praise God for that.
