Red, do you think the better sleep since moving there could also be due to being in such a different time zone that might possibly more in sync with your body clock, instead of just from the chrysanthemum tea? I've often thought that I'm living in the wrong part of the world in that respect.
Oh, I see there's a Food & Cooking Board coming soon. I might never be able to leave that one. I haven't been on this site in a few days. There must be a lot that's new.
Do y'all think I should keep "Goldie" or go back to "Goldieolds" which, among other things, sounds more gender neutral? Or something like "goldieo". I'll probably ditch the caps on whichever one I use b/c it's easier to write.
One thing I don't understand yet. When I come back to this tab, still open from my last post, and refresh the page, it still shows mine as being the last post, even thought it was three days ago. I'm sure I'll eventually that there have been others in between.

Made a pitcher earlier today with tea that I took from daughter before we left. Unfortunately, I tossed the bag and label and now can't tell what's in it. Youthberry black tea, looks like. Added some local coffee blossom honey and a handful of goji berries (a gift from my student's mom) right into the pitcher then let it brew. Tiny bit sweet, perfect with ice. BTW, I hope you guys are impressed with the heart shaped shadow in the photo. Click on it to see better. The reddish things in the glass are goji berries. Every now and then I put some goji berries in my yogurt, but never thought to add them to tea. Red, are they dried or fresh where you are? The kind I have here are dried, and I think they'd have to be in the tea a long time before softening and adding flavor. But perhaps you get them fresh. Re: your other post about the FM (or is it MF?) tea, I don't particularly like lavender in tea. Still wondering about your line of favorite teas. Is it the quality of the tea itself (and remember, when I say "tea" I mean "tea" from the tea plant, not an herbal infusion. At least not today. Or the variety of blends? Or both? I knew that the tea plant is called "camellia sinensis" (or something like that, I don't do well with Latin) but had not realized until the other day that it is part of the plain ol' camellia family, with the pretty flowers and that used to grow outside my door in Atlanta. I thought that the "sinensis" must make it something different.

It could have been, Goldie. Falling to sleep naturally without sleeping aid of any kind and waking up hours earlier than what I normally did in more than 4 decades is a positive change. And you're right, it's not due to chrysanthemum tea because I haven't been drinking it this past week. CK will move this topic to the Food & Cooking Board, I believe. I've been calling you Goldie from day one so I'll stick with that no matter what name you use, and it has nothing to do with gender. It's prettier and I like it better. Refreshing doesn't do anything. You need to click on the page number at the top of the screen (the number should be higher than this current one) in order to get to the newer posts. It's the opposite with my blog where the current page is always the newest post and you need to click on "Older" or the page number that is lower than the current one to read the posts that you miss.

The goji berries are semi-fresh. Not fresh as recently harvested but semi-fresh as soft, sweet, and instantly edible without soaking or adding to tea. After they're brewed in the tea, they're just a tiny bit softer and the taste doesn't change. They're not a newly discovered fruit to us because I've seen them for as long as I can remember. My father used them in his homebrew (rice wine) between the late '50s and mid '70s, and I remember seeing them at apothecaries everywhere when I was a toddler. I haven't the need to visit an apothecary now, but I'm sure they're still there in the jars. They're used in many personalized remedies. I love MF for the very high quality tea they use, the way they blend their teas with flowers or fruits or with other teas. I also like their herbal infusions. In all the years I've been drinking MF tea, there were only 2 blends I don't like (forget both names) and not because they're bad, just not my taste.

Well I am here and I hope we all continue to socialize. I am enjoying some ginger/black tea from Sri Lanka. I'm glad to see you here, Savmor. I bought a ton of ginger two months ago, used half of it to make candied ginger, the other half minced and kept in a jar for tea and food dishes. Only a couple of spoons worth is left in the jar, I'll need to start the whole process again. Still waiting for cheap flights to Sri Lanka. As soon as one comes up, I'll be booking.

Hey ladies! You all talking about tea is making me sleepy. Hot tea puts me to sleep! Hey MD, glad to see you. Have you seen my elephant riding post? It's a cool story, I think you'll like it.

Good tea is a matter of personal preference; one person's praise can easily be another person's reject.
Black tea was used traditionally in Earl Grey, but green tea has taken up a good percentage of it, with oolong, rooibos and white tea also entered the fray in recent decades. So, to determine which EG best suits you, you should decide which type/s of tea you like to drink -- black, green, oolong (black or green depends on the processing), rooibos (red herb, not true tea), or white.
The absolute best to me is Earl Grey Impérial from Mariage Frères. It's made with first flush Darjeeling, silky on the tongue, and very perfumed with bergamot. You can infuse this tea 2 or 3 times. I've been in love with it for years now and have always taken it with me in all our travel. There are only a few places in the States where you can buy MF tea so it could be a deterrent.
I like Earl Grey Imperial (black and oolong) and Earl Grey Supreme (black and white), both from Harney and Sons.
I'm not crazy about anything from Twinings except the whole winter of the most excellent daily free buffet breakfast they sponsored in Bodo (Norway) in 2017. Very sumptuous. I drank Twinings tea every day for a week then, but it's free so I didn't complain.

Coco, I can help you celebrate with some Liptons. Red, That tea looks wonderful. I've never had goji berries. goldieolds, As far as latin names go with plants, the first name is usually the "genus" and the second is the "species" so Camellia(genus) sinensis (species). The plant Black eyed susan is called Rudbeckia hirta ...you get the idea. The Rudbeckia that you normally see up here in peoples flower beds is Rudbeckia fulgilda and the variety is 'Goldstrum'. Ok, don't get me started on plants. lol

Red, glad to see your opinion about Twinings. I've been contemplating trying it when I see it in the store. Now I won't waste my money. Stash makes an organic black and green blend Earl Gray. It's good for what it is, an inexpensive tea bag. I think - haven't tasted it in a long time. I bought some again, but forget to use it, and have some others I've been drinking.
Now that I'm registered, I've been clicking on bookmark when I post in a forum, but how do I find it again? Is that instead of the "favorites" list we used to have? What does "following" someone do? I've clicked "follow" on several of you, but what does that mean? This site is still confusing to me. I don't do other sites such as FB, maybe it would make more sense if I was familiar with those.

"Follow" is sort of asking someone to be your friend. If s/he follows you back, then it's a yes and you're friends. If s/her doesn't, then you become a stalker! No, it's not true. If s/he doesn't follow you back, you'll have quick access to the topics that s/he participates so you can either admire her/his opinions expressed there, or decide that s/he's not worth your crushing , cancel the "follow", and move on with your life. "Bookmark" is the same as favourite. You can find it again on your own bookmark bar or folder on your iPad (you should put it there first). I explained this in details on the old Tea forum (before I read your question here.)

Thanks Red. I never use the bookmarks on my computer. I should, but I keep a gazillion tabs open instead. I used them on my first iMac then it got more complicated in the newer versions and I didn't know how to migrate my older ones over, etc. I'm a mess when it comes to organization. I just noticed a button that says "Participated" so maybe that is more like "favorites". Will see.
Do people get notified that someone is following them? I don't yet understand how all this happens.
