Red, I'd forgotten the date too, but she reminded us in the TJ's forum, and I know that all y'all haven't always been looking at that one.

DG, thanks. I'm way behind again, and the reminder is helpful.
Here’s an interesting article about white tea. It, too, says that white tea has about the same health benefits as green tea, but without that “grassy” taste. Also a lot more information about white tea in it.
articles.mercola.com/teas/white-tea.aspx
excerpt:
"White tea is allowed to oxidize only minimally. Due to the minimal processing they both undergo, the benefits of white tea versus green tea have often been deemed similar. To produce white tea, the buds are withered and air-dried in the sun or in an indoor environment as soon as harvested, under carefully controlled conditions. Due to oxidation not being manually encouraged, the flavor profile of this tea is softer and more delicate compared to other teas.7,8"

Man, I'm bad. Didn't post on my own thread, took forever to post on my own blog, and so far behind on thousands of photos to edit.
How are you guys?
DG -- I've been drinking iced tea every day. Twice a week, I make a big pitcher of Earl Grey and Ginger Apple, add honey and a couple slices of lime, then keep it in the fridge. Husband drinks it too, not as much as I do though.
Queensland had great weather but Sydney was mid to high 40s every day with violent wind (we didn't bring warm clothing. It's springtime there, for goodness sake, who would've thought of bringing overcoats, scarves, and woolen hats? People who knew better, apparently.) Came home and it's high 70s to low 80s all day until around 4:30, 5pm, then the wind starts blowing and temperature drops 10 degrees. Iced tea fits the bill.
We'll have two trips in Nov. One in-country and the other to UAE and Brunei. Then I'll be in CA for one week in Feb. That one will be a quiet trip, just me staying with daughter, not seeing anyone or doing any fun things. I need to have a new prescription glasses, to take more stuff (that have been in her garage for more than a year by then) to bring back, stuff that I missed dearly since moving here. And to stock up with food from Costco and TJ's, if I can find what I want at TJ's and if they don't require refrigeration.
Goldie -- I had kombucha the first time ever while in Queensland. Not impressed.

Red, Dont' feel bad, I've fallen behind on reading some topics and posting. Glad you are enjoying the ice tea. Do you combine the Earl Grey and Ginger Apple? The weather here has been cooler than normal...November temps in October though it looks like it will be warming up a bit (50's) this next week. Hope you have fun visiting UAE and Brunei. Glad that you are getting a chance to visit with your daughter and picking up stuff you missed. Hope you are able to find all you want at TJ's and Costco.

The thought of going to such places as UAE and Brunei makes me shudder. Absolutely no desire to go to any Arab country. But since l'm not going to any other countries it doesn't matter. Hope you enjoy it.
l've switched from iced tea totally to hot tea. ln the summer sometimes l'm rushing too much and don't have tea prepared, so i keep a bottle of black tea and a bottle of green tea on hand to quickly make some iced tea to take with me. l get Tejava (or something like that) form Trader Joe's to have ready. Still have some opened bottles taking up space in the fridge. Yesterday l used up the green tea by pouring it into my brewed black tea. l can really use the space in my fridge.
For my brewed tea l've been using the loose tea my neighbor from Sri Lanka gave me. lt's not the finest quality, b/c it is too finely cut to stay in the infuser so l strain it with the tea strainer. l let it steep until l'm ready to drink it, and then dilute it with hot water (in the summer with cold for iced tea). lt works for me and l'm enjoying it, although no where near as perfect as Red's.
I'd forgotten that I bought this little teapot at World Market. Have been using it to brew my tea. The tea is too fine for the infuser, so I use a little tea strainer. It works!

Where is everybody?? I miss our little tea chats.
World Market has 20% off "British tea-time essentials", including the tea. Only through today, I think, so not much time left to take advantage. I missed the previous announcements of this two-day sale; it must have gone into my spam mailbox.
I'm still enjoying the tea from Sri Lanka my neighbor gave me. I'm still on the loose tea that was in the larger container, but I've transferred to smaller tea tins. That container was opened (I think contents were transferred from another container), so I'm using it first. There is a smaller unopened tin of of loose tea (as I recall) and some tea bags of special blends.
I hope y'all are fine and enjoying whichever tea you like. And I wish y'all a very
Happy, Healthy and Blessed New Year!

Dirt Girl, do you drink iced tea in this weather?? I lose interest in it as soon as the temps start to drop in the fall.
As to the Lipton part, I guess it's what a person is used to. Only thing I can think of . Do you use the instant? My mother had some on the shelf when I moved in and I think it might still be there. Or maybe I finally threw it out some years ago.

Anybody still here?
Red, if you still read this, I meant to ask what kind of kombucha you tried? There are so many different versions and flavors, I don't think it can be generalized from one kind. Was it flavored? I've only tried plain once and didn't like it, either. It was very yeasty. I don't know if plain in a different brand would be better, but there are many flavors I like, so I don't feel the need to drink plain.
The other night I was talking to the manager at a local L&B store. The local chain had a brand that I like, LIVE, on sale in an ad, but I couldn't find it in the store, so I asked her about it. She said she likes kombucha but wasn't familiar with that brand. I asked her which ones she likes, and she named two I don't like as well. She likes them more bubbly and I don't. That is another difference to be considered.

I'm concerned about Coco. Have you seen her post anywhere? She hasn't been responding in TJ's either, and didn't answer an email. (Although I'm not sure I used the correct address)
