Yes WB6YYZ is my amateur radio callsign. I kept the "6" call when I moved east, if I had taken a new call "out of the hat" It would have a 3 in it. I think most of the hams I knew that lived in So Calif either moved like I did or passed away.

I love Trader the QuinJoe's and shop there at least 1 x per week. The closest location to me unfortunately, is in front of a large mall/restaurant area, so I frequently shop at off peak hours. I have SO many items I like that it is difficult to pin down. For any day of the week usage, QUINOA DUO (frozen quinoa w/bits of butternut squash and zucchini) is a favorite, as it is microwaveable, and a quick nutritious side to a meal. My other fav is Fresh Alaskan salmon, (a bit pricey), or Alaskan Sockeye Salmon fillets. When I serve the salmon, my guests ask if it is fresh or frozen. Very nice quality! I either broil, or bake in another fav, TJ's EVO Olive oil and lemon juice. yum ..the Quinoa Duo sounds delicious..I'll have to look for that!

Thanks bluewahoo and babe. Has anyone noticed that The Other Website is v e r y slow today? I've gotten several 509 server error messages. Not just yesterday. Have had to re-post. It loads for one minute to forever. Maybe I'll get to that "full Member" status soon. Full disclosure, I have never stepped foot in a Trader Joes. Maybe I will one of these days! Am surprised! Between I-95 and 128 is the only TJ's visited. 300 Andover St, Peabody, MA Will return one day. Hope to Visit the TJ's in Lebanon, NH. Am in that city several times a year.

Memphis (GB... thatsitewhichmustnotbenamed) "buddy" here. Our first TJ is supposed to open in Germantown, TN (a suburb of Memphis) in a few months. They've been negotiating w/ the city of Germantown for over a year. They were originally supposed to build onto a (now-closed) Kroger on Exeter just off Poplar Ave. in Germantown. That fell through for whatever reason. Then they were going to build NEXT TO the (now empty) Kroger location. That apparently fell through, too. (Wasn't enough parking space for Kroger when they were there, so building into that space seemed ridiculous. And Germantown's code ordinances are absolutely ridiculous!) Now they've apparently reached an agreement to build into PART of the space that was formerly occupied by Kroger. Time will tell. It's been all "roped off" & construction going on since December or before. No further news.
I'm not familiar w/ TJ. Wasn't familiar w/ its sister store, ALDI, until about 12 years ago. Thought it was junk at first but quickly learned ALDI's stuff is relabeled national brands. For example, their milk, at less than $3 a gallon, is "relabeled" Turner (a local "brand") milk which costs over $4 a gallon across the street at Kroger. Also learned after trying them, almost all their canned & frozen foods as well as their produce, is every bit as high quality as "national" brands. Eager to see what TJ offers that ALDI doesn't!

We need pricing to compare.
The only thing I've purchased from Trader Joe's is wood chips for the grill.
Meijer's has bananas on sale for $.39lb about every other week. Since they are consistent with their sales, I know to stock up and wait for the next sale. How much are they at Trader Joe's?
I get eggs from Meijer's for $.49 dozen large, $.59 dozen extra large, and $69 dozen jumbo. Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted I get a gallon of milk from Meijer's for $.99.

Living in California must be like being in paradise in another world compared to the Midwest. I have a Grandaughter living in Emeryville, CA she thinks so! I really do not like making negitive comments but I have been reading your post Goldie and I am going to chime in. We do have several Aldi's. I have been to 2 of them. The building, the food, the employees, the clientele, and the cleanliness were all sub standard. I didn't even make a purchase. While I am at it, daylight saving time has an adverse affect on everyone's health. CocoPaz I love your post about the government and the blanket! 😅 Not true! Daylight Savings Time has a marked benefit to my health, while the long dark days have an adverse affect on me. I'd agree if we were talking about switching back and forth. Staying on perpetual Daylight Savings Time would be my ideal. Mornings don't matter to me. Late afternoons and evenings do.

Tru, OH NO, you've been to the ER? I hate to hear that and hope you really are good now. Will have to find your forum to try to keep up better. This transition time is confusing, but it should get better eventually.

Mr. G, what prices! Unfortunately we don't have a Meijer's here. TJ bananas are 19¢ here, which translates to about 25¢/#, depending on size. You should stay with Meijer's for eggs and milk. Cocoa is better and cheaper at TJ. REAL cocoa, not namby pamby Swiss Miss junk. I DO have my opinions...Pound Plus Chocolate Bars are cheaper and of better quality than most places that aren't small specialized chocolate stores. Don't even TALK to me about See's pseudo-chocolate. Avocados are cheaper and better. LOTSA wines, most cheaper than elsewhere and lots of them better than elsewhere, unless you are used to $50+ wines. Many TJ items are specialty items, which we TJ-aholics buy because we like them, so there is no real price comparison. TJ has an excellent return policy. They don't give you the third degree and often you don't have to have your receipt or the object with you.

Anyone have a Sumatra Coffee Brownie ? Get yours and enjoy !!! Yes we've tried them and have the following report: 1. me: almost as good as our homemade Espresso Brownies. Inside is nice and soft and chewy. 2. spouse: too much coffee Interesting thought: sometimes people eat chocolate with red wine. Maybe we should try red wine with these brownies. Anything for science...
