I need to give that retirement thing a try. I'm definately old enough. But Cindy says if I retired and did nothing I would probably die of boredom. 😎 You may retire from farm work, but you will keep yourself busy working on your other projects!

Thanks Lacey! It's a relief to see that mountain pies are NOT related to mountain oysters. LOL now LOL is Tru again. I clicked this forum from my bookmarks and it took me here, I made a post, then saw that it had only taken me to page 5 out of 6. This is still confusing. BGJam I think you invited us on your boat last summer. Maybe this year some of us will make it. Looks fun. Which river is it on? (As I recall it was on a river rather than a lake, but that could be wrong.) Last summer I got a chance to go out on a lake with some old friends I'd recently reconnected with. It was a pontoon, and a beautiful summer day. It felt so good to be out on the water again!! It had been many years since out on my uncle's on Minnetonka. Usually we went out as a family on the cabin cruiser, but now and then I got a ride on his Donzi speed boat. It was all good! Is there a time limit on editing here like there is at the old place?

I just clicked on the (upper right corner of the screen) NEW Participated button on the Home screen which I believe keeps track of the topics I've posted in.
I've also learned there's no way to reverse the order of the posts within a topic from last to first. It's a common interest amongst members though, so time will tell when the add-on I've read about might be implemented resolve that issue.
I think for now or maybe until I become more familiar with this site, I'll stick with the simple Quick Reply button. I like simple. No frills or thrills for me.....yet.

I also just learned I have to pay attention to the page I'm posting to. I may have to wait a bit in the morning until my brain catches up with the rest of me before posting here. I just confused myself again. But I did learn, so that is a good thing, right? UGH!

Yes Jr. You are right. I have to pay attention also. My brain isn't wired for all the changes. I like things stating the same. MadDog muff(s) = mufflers. I was using Anthony's lingo. Figured it was a common language with all you young hipsters. (We used to use the word wippersnappers lol). Speaking of LOL. Exactly who is this Tru person? I am cornfused !!!!! You don't know how many times I corrected Tru to LOL. Glad I don't have to retire my brain for that cause it kept shorting out. I didn't know you as Paul either Grover. I think?? I don't know just too much change for this country boy. Well got two things to do today and they are not drinking coffee and considering retirement. Got to head to the city and take Cindy to an orchid show (I hate the city and the 2 hour drive). We went for first time last year. Cindy liked them. Nuff said Cindy got orchids. Go to the gardening posting. I put two pictures up of our orchids I managed to keep alive despite Cindy's best efforts to kill them. And yes I still got to fix more fence. It's fence fixen season. Maybe if I'm lucky I'll get lost fixin fence and I won't have to drive 2 hours in the city to get lost. There is always hope and a silver lining in everything if you look I guess. Life is good. Welcome back Tru and take care. Oh yes... Be careful out there!!!

Here's my quick reply. We are all still new to this site. But we will look back on this years later (some more than others, sadly) and remember how green we were! Ha ha. Have a good one everybody.

eggman... I'll try to visit often. I just have to learn how to mark those I want to visit. Something other than bookmarking that is, What is wrong with bookmarking?

Happy St Paddy's Day everybuddy! Enjoy the day!
Still waiting for the sickness to go away...
Nope, I wasn't Paul over there, just in real life.
Being busy after retirement is an issue for some. My parents are very busy in their retirement. My inlaws, not so much. They both have part time jobs now.
Have a good day!

Yes Laceylady that does look nice. We do a lot of tent camping. Go for about a week every year. Last year we camped in the finger lakes area of NY. It was great. Beatiful scenery. Friendly people. Nice camp ground and best of all a whole lot of wineries there to sample different wines. We came home with 2 cases of assorted wines we purchased. But I am off topic (🍾). I have been tent camping since was 11 in the scouts. Which was quite a while ago. I only cook over a wood fire and am excellent (bragging now). Got a collection of cast iron ware and can cook, bake or whatever. It is relaxing. Took another couple with us the last time and they were amazed. Eating was/and is the best part of camping. Oh before I forget a mountain pie requires a mountain pie iron. It is two slices of bread with your favorite topping inside depending on what you want. Like for breakfast on the day we break camp we use apple pie filling or cherry pie filling. Easy cleanup to breakdown camp. Or late during campfire time instead of a hot dog or whatever we will make pizza ones with sauce, cheese, and pepperoni between the slices. Then you just toast them over the fire. The bread slices stick together cause if the iron and when you remove those golden brown baby's. Yum yum. But you got to coat the iron with Pam or something like that so it does not stick. Well this is long enough for now. Take care everyone and be careful out there. Egg, Seasoned my 2 irons. Yes, some of best food around. Really fun when it's so dark you can't see what you're doing! Been eating those for many a yr. B4 kids. Kids grew up enjoying those. Taught many. Mountain pie, hmm.

Goldie, my boat is on the Mississippi River, in downtown St Paul. I keep her (Riff Raft) at the St Paul Yacht Club on Harriet Island, very near the Padelford Landing. I'll renew the cruise invitations after I get the boat in the water and the weather is warmer.
