In today's culture the social media-ites might say he was mocking Christianity because they wanted to see it that way, and it could sell another 2 million. But at the time even the Lord's Prayer by Sister Janet Mead was a gold record so the youth movement still had not gone off the rails and I doubt it was seen as an insult back then. But times have reversed. People see what they want to see. Kinda like the Bible where people read it from today's perspectives and ignore the times it was written in.

Main things that I have done since last time was to watch the lunchtime news and have lunch.
The breeze blowing in the business room window is still cold enough that I have to wear a T-shirt to be comfortable.
My housemate commented the middle of the house was 80 and asked if I was ready for some air conditioning. Not yet.
Set a half-hour timer on Alexa to wait for my lunch to settle down and any need for a comfort stop to have most likely have passed. Just asked Alexa, I have ten minutes to go. After the timer goes off, I'll break down and take a shower. After the shower is over and I'm dressed, I'll turn on the air conditioning at least so the middle of the house will be cool like the business room is now.

Well, since I last wrote, I've had my shower and I finished that up at least an hour ago.
Alexa timed out and I headed to my bedroom to get my clothing ready to go and take off what I was wearing except the diaper. Went in the bathroom. Found my shower chair was not in place. Also found out that the boys had put things on it. Turned on the water to warm up and repositioned the shower chair. The hot water here comes to the bathroom from a water heater by the kitchen. Found when I got done the water was still not warm.
Sat down on the toilet and pulled off my diaper. By that time, the water was warm. In fact, too warm. Turned the knob to get it cooler but I got it too cool. Had to adjust again.
Took my shower and rinsed off. By that time, the bathroom was full of steam. Decided to go to my bedroom to finish dressing. With a towel wrapped around me. My housemate was getting ready to go to his job and I got my door closed about the same time my housemate closed his.
Finished drying off. Put on a pair of light gray sweatpants and a light gray T-shirt. These sweatpants leave something to be desired. Like most of mine, they are too long and too big. Bought the same size each time from the same place and found their consistency in size leaves something to be desired. Can't really get out and shop, so I bought them mail order. May buy some from Amazon so I can send them back free if they don't fit right. Going to have to wash the pair I was wearing before Wednesday, unless I decide to wear shorts to the podiatrist. Weather guess says it'll be hot enough Wednesday afternoon for shorts.
After I got dressed, my housemate's youngest son and I went around the house closing windows and turning on the air conditioning. I shut the windows that were open in the dining and business rooms (a total of three) and then chucked my dirty diaper in the trashcan in my business room so Chalupa dog can't drag it around the house.
Decided at 2:55 to get a can of Dr Pepper Zero Sugar Cherry. Didn't get back in the business room from the kitchen until after the three o'clock news started. My oversized sweats decided to fall down close to the dining room windows and anyone looking in could see me in a diaper with my sweatpants down around my ankles.
Watched the thirty minute three o'clock newscast on KPRC Channel 2. Now twenty minutes into "Entertainment Tonight." Have the can of pop in the freezer like usual, and like usual the Alexa timer is set to have me get it out but not frozen. The timer just went off.
Pulled my oversized sweats above my equally oversized belly. Didn't come down while I was fetching the pop from the freezer.
Still have the vanilla ice cream in the freezer. Thinking about eating some after I finish the pop.

Taco: No, they are doing (again) a mock draft....I believe it's the real NFL Draft is the 25th-27th...I don't have much hopes of JJ being available for my Broncos to get...Vikings and Cardinals seem interested. It IS strange to see the New England Patriots at #3!!! The Broncos are going to look SO different this year :-(
So I told my boss I needed a pay raise, three companies are currently after me! He asked what three companies and I answered, "Electric, gas, and cable!!"

Main things I have done since last time is eat some ice cream, watch the evening news, and look at today's snail mail.
Got up, grabbed a bowl, a spoon, and the carton of ice cream. Scooped up a couple of spoonfuls (with a big spoon that pulled a pretty good chunk with it) and set out to eating. Ate the ice cream quickly, took the carton back to the freezer, and put the bowl in the sink and ran it full of water. Decided after that that I needed to make one of my fairly frequent comfort stops.
Came back to the business room. Sat and watched the news until almost six o'clock. By that time, I needed another comfort stop.
On the way back to the business room, I stopped in the living room. My housemate's oldest son was sitting on the sofa with his tablet computer. I said there was some important mail today and it probably had arrived earlier in the day. I spent a good bit of the afternoon away from my desk and if I'm there I usually recognize when the LLV comes through. He went out to get the mail and came back with two important pieces of mail for me from my Medicare Supplement Provider. By the time that I got them they weren't important. The first one was dated the ninth of April and said that they had not received my premium as of then (two days late). The reason it's no longer relevant is that I paid the premium online one day later. The other one was a piece of mail they periodically send me to stop filling my prescriptions at my local pharmacy and fill them at their mail-order pharmacy. They say they can save me money. IIRC, on one prescription. But there's another one that's higher than my local pharmacy. I may switch to mail order delivery so my housemate isn't busy all the time hauling me to the pharmacy to get refills.
Only made it about an hour before needing another comfort stop. I did, and on the way back to the business room I looked on the dining room table. The things that Informed Delivery had me getting today that weren't handed to me. One was an ad trying to get me to get a credit card. Not going to do that because I got in over my head with credit cards and I'm in a debt management agreement where one of the terms is that I do not get another credit line during the duration of the plan. The other was a piece of mail from my Congressman with a "Priorities Survey." Have to pay postage to send it back, but I'm still working on a roll of FOREVER stamps that I bought in 2018. Well before postal rates became infested with Bidenflation. Also got a couple of magazines that they could not scan.
Currently watching the Braves-Astros game. In the second inning. Score tied 1-1.

Good morning from warm Colorado! The leaves on our lilac bushes and maple tree are starting to bloom and the grass is starting to turn green and grow. (What's left of it...rabbits have really killed a lot of my lawn the past few years.) I'll be busy working on my lawn this year...will have lay down those rolls of sod after prepping the areas. (But, first, I have to get my sprinkler system operational...I know of at least 3 heads that need fixing.)
I always thought the Spirit in the Sky was sung by the Beattles...nope, written by a Jewish guy, Norman Greenbaum who said, (From Wiki) "Spirit in the Sky" makes several religious references to Jesus, although Greenbaum himself is Jewish. In a 2006 interview with The New York Times, Greenbaum told a reporter he was inspired to write the song after watching Porter Wagoner singing a gospel song on TV. Greenbaum said: "I thought, 'Yeah, I could do that,' knowing nothing about gospel music, so I sat down and wrote my own gospel song. It came easy. I wrote the words in 15 minutes." Greenbaum had previously been a member of psychedelic jug band Dr. West's Medicine Show and Junk Band. When they split up he won a solo contract with producer Erik Jacobsen for Reprise Records. Jacobsen had previously worked with the Lovin' Spoonful.
My wife and daughters love both asparagus and brussels sprouts (roasted with olive oil and cheese). I'll eat it but not my favorites. Give me some steamed broccoli or green beans or corn on the cob! (Tip: When you can buy fresh corn on the cob in the husk, buy some and wrap it, husk and all, in tin foil and roast in on the BBQ for 20-25 minutes...turning every 5 minutes....you're welcome!!)
Continue prayers for Ron...they said the cancer is advanced and throughout his bone barrow now...I suspect the only reason he's doing chemo is to let his wife know he did everything he could. So sad.
I'm waning to replace my headlamps on my 2014 Tundra...even though I did a good job restoring them a few years ago, they aren't looking good. OEM wants a ridiculous $255 EACH so searched on Rock Auto, $95 for Chinese and then used that part number to find them on Amazon for about $120 each, free shipping and Amazon is much easier with returns or problems....will be ordering a set when I get that saved up. (You have to remove the entire front to replace but I've done that numerous times...ain't hard!)
Dad joke: A frog gets his DNA tested. He found out he's part British, part German, and a tad pole!! :-) I'd eat any of the afore-mentioned vegetables!
I do the same for replacement parts, I would never by them from an OEM. I look at Amazon as well as EBay as there are some parts stores that use it as well. Much better prices for new or like-new components.

Good morning to the Soldiers from the Lord's Army from sunny and humid Colorado! We had some rare early-morning rain roll through and now it's sunny...but only 46 but the windows are open to let the moisture in! When my sister visited, she's lived in Charleston SC for over 20 years, she commented on just how dry and arid it is here.
We have the 5-year granddaughter, Lilly, spending the day with us. Nana is having a date-day and bringing her to see a cartoon at the theater at two. (I think it's a re-air of Shrek 2.) I'm getting my daughters' Palisade from her work and changing the oil. No tire rotations needed so will just use the drive-on ramps I have...shouldn't take 30 minutes.
Reb: Congrats on losing the weight! I'm jealous...seems to be really hard to lose weight the older I get even though I walk a lot and stay busy. After I get the oil changed, I'll get out to the lawn and repair some sprinklers that are broken and, hopefully, get the system turned on...doesn't look like any nights in the 20's for the next 10-days so I think we're good.
My Boston Red Sox lost our short stop for the year...stinks...since then we've dropped into last place...
Everybody have a great day!!

So far this week, my sleeping hours have been all over the place. Slept nearly thirteen hours Sunday and only four hours Monday. Things were more normal Tuesday, I slept about seven and a half hours. Been pretty much solidly busy after I got up. Even though I don't work. Don't know what I would do if I was working, probably less Internet rag chewing.

I believe Caitlin got taken to cleaners on the contract they want to her to sign....not sitting well with me. That's the pay scale for the WNBA, unfortunately. That is why WNBA star Brittney Griner was playing in Russia during the WNBA offseason when she was set-up by the Russian government and subsequently arrested.
But she'll make far more in endorsements than she ever will playing basketball. She's probably already pretty much set for life, if she's smart with these early returns.

Evening from Chicago burbs,
praying for Ron, and family.
yea WNBA definitely eye opening on the salary. Someone mentioned the games Indu are playing in Chicago cheapest tickets are $225, normal tickets can be had for $200 less.
Today played golf, did ok temp in. 50’s. I started at *8:00 am and friend joined me around 9:00 or so, he plays but not committed golfer. He skips holes and wanders to talk to friends. He is add… Will have to post a couple pictures. On 11th hole put tee shot on par 3 on front of green it’s 190 yds (normally 132 but was put in back tee box for some reason) and it’s over a pond had long putt over 50 ft, and just trying to get it close. Missed it by about 1/4 inch (short). … Got home at 11:15 or so. . After lunch, went and got haircut…. Needed it badly. Won’t have to wear hat when go to fitness center in morning.

That's the Caitlin Clark effect, as mexicomaria has been saying. She's definitely bringing more visibility to the WNBA.
