Good morning from warm Colorado! Almost 70 today but a cold front is coming tomorrow and we could have snow Saturday night, low of 33.
I, also, need a haircut. It can be frustrating since my wife is a retired master hairstylist. I'll ask and ask and ask for a haircut but I'm not a priority. But if a grandchild asks, boy, she's all over that like a fat kid on a cupcake! hehehe I tease her about that! Once, I just sat in a chair in the kitchen and grabbed the electric sheers and started cutting. She, of course, took pity and let me finish (#4 all over) and then cleaned it up. (#4 on top and #2 on sides and blended in the middle.) I HATE long hair...when it starts to need a part that's when I get it cut.
Don't get me started on the amount of money professional athletes are paid....it's outrageous and gone are the days where the average working family could afford to spend an afternoon at a sports arena to enjoy their local team. (Unless they want to go see a minor league or AAA baseball team and even those are getting expensive.) Just to PARK at the stadium at Empower Field in Denver is $70!!! In Colorado Springs, MANY have discovered the very reasonable prices to go see an Air Force Falcon event...football, basketball, and hockey...I've brought all of my grandkids and will continue!

Last haircut I had was in October of last year. It was very short. Don't think I'm ready to go yet on top but I get my beard trimmed along with my haircut and the beard will need cutting soon. Won't do it in less than a week because I'm tight on money and will get my next known income a week from today.

Went to the podiatrist at one o'clock this afternoon. Been busy ever since I got home about three o'clock.
Doctor said things are looking good but aren't there yet.
When I left, the vehicle in front of our Escape was a van from the medical rehab faciliity I was in almost all of the last two months of 2023. The driver recognized me as a former patient and asked me how I was doing. I said that I was improved but not 100% yet.
Next doctor appointment is next Wednesday. My housemate said he may not be able to take me next week. I'm tight on money right now, but next Wednesday is when I get my Social Security Retirement. If push comes to shove, I'll be able to take an UBER. If I did, it would be the first UBER ride I have taken since I started to have to use a walker.
Watching the ten o'clock news weather guess. They are showing the weather guess for my next doctor appointment in a week. 82 degrees with a 30% chance of rain.
Was watching the Astros-Braves baseball game. When they went into extra innings, I decided to turn on the news.
My housemate's youngest son fixed supper tonight. It was chicken nuggets. He fixed me one to ask if it was too spicy for me. I said it was not, and he went off to fix the rest of them. He also asked me if I wanted BBQ sauce. I said "sounds good" and he walked in the business room with our bottles of sauce. I picked one out and he brought me a small cup of it.
Yesterday's weather guess said 86 today. Turned out it was 82. Decided yesterday to wear shorts to the appointment. Thought I was almost too cold wearing shorts.
Contacted all the family members that I thought would be interested in my status: three by phone call, two by E-mail, and one wasn't answering the phone and I left her a voicemail.
Jimmy Kimmel Live just came on and I'm thinking of going to bed. Usually takes me about a half hour between deciding to go to bed and getting in bed. But tonight I still have my supper dishes in the business room.

Hyper....I believed my beloved brother, Gman, was making fun of women sports, and not meant to be ill informed. So, I gave him the OOOOooo big cherry...for those of you who never did that. It is when you stick your tongue out and blow air through it. Big deal when I was 10. heheheh The men are spoiled....in sports and they believe money should just come...big money, not money should comes to those who can bring in the fans. I see a basketballer bet on his own health and then called in sick. hahahha He now is done in basketball. Thanks women..for making me love sports again. Wasn't happy to see one woman yell at her team on tv..."F....you, give me the ball. Ugly. Thought she should sit out a game. that is my justice. Now, when I was in High school, no womens teams in school. ( Pre Crimean war.) But I did play women's Curling. I was on the area championship team one yr. hehehehhe I love curling. Yoho

Opps...forgot to say...that I am learning; got a long way to go. We are now suppose to call a lie, a lie! a lie!...misinformation, not a lie. How swell. Not a pretty picture...Acts 5:1-11 Immediate death for lying to Holy Spirit. It was not "misinformation", it was a dilberate lie. One can call a deliberate lie, or it was just a little story......but, not pretty outcomes.

Good evening from snowy Colorado! Yep, 34 and some big ol flakes falling...it's actually pretty but just melting when it hits. (So far)
Taco: Oh don't get me wrong, I always loved women's sports, especially tennis....huge crush on Chrissy Evert when I was a boy! I played in High School and was ranked in the state (Maine) for a season. (Then I got a job and that was the end of my sports...oh, I did get talked into playing basketball when I was a freshman...we lost every game...true!) Our oldest granddaughter played volleyball this year and we had fun going to watch those matches...they almost made the playoffs! She's a tall girl, already around 5'7" and is only 13!
Testimony about sports and the jealousy of Father God! When we moved to San Antonio in 1985, we were brand-new Christians but I was a Dallas Cowboy fan all my life (up to that point.) Anyway, LOTS of Cowboy fans there and I worked with some. We lived there for about 5 years and about 2 or 3 years in, I could feel the Lord wasn't pleased with me. As it turned out, football was becoming more and more of an idol in my life. An idol is anything or anyone who gets our attention...our thoughts and our desire and our love. And our God is a jealous God, He tells us that! He will never take 2nd place in our hearts. That's why Jesus said it would be better to be cold than to be lukewarm to Him. Anyway, so I quit football...cold turkey! Many years later, in the early 2000's, He let me get into the NFL but I was (and I am) very careful not to let it become an idol again. If I feel it becoming too big, that's that...no more...and I've done that, too. Money, people, hobbies, sports, politics....lots of things can become an idol. I've even met believers in the Lord Jesus but they seem to think they don't have any responsibilities or any roles to play but that's counter to what the Bible teaches. We are "grafted" into the vine which is a living organism and we need each other...the Family of God, not the island people of God! Yes, grace is unmerited and salvation is a free gift BUT that doesn't mean we can sit on the throne of our hearts and lives and expect the Lord to take 2nd place...He won't do that. (Then they wonder why they never hear the Lord's voice or have answers to prayers...you have to come to God like He wants and it's all clearly taught in the Holy Bible.)
Anyway, I was preaching to myself, as usually!
Prayers for Kai and Taco and Hubby and for Sissurf and Sneakers and Reb and Tim and Miller...our regulars! Praying for my youngest daughter who had a job interview with a school district in Colorado Springs and, if she gets it, would be a very nice pay raise for her. Also praying for everyone who comes here to have a closer walk with Jesus...no greater love is found than in the arms of the Savior!!

Prayers for Kai and Taco and Hubby and for Sissurf and Sneakers and Reb and Tim and Miller...our regulars! Got a new one to add to the prayer list: Isaiah (my housemate's youngest son, the one that fixed me supper last night). He is better than most professing Christians that I know, but he is not a believer. That, of course, means that the questions of eschatology are hanging over his head. Pray that his curiosity about the faith that I have will increase and I can get him interested in talking about the issues I settled on the 24th of April 1988. I have dangled the hook in front of him a few times, but I have not got him to bite.

Praise report...the interview my daughter had went great and it looks like they are very interested in hiring her for a charter school (but run by a public school district). This will be a $20K pay raise for her and she'll get all the holidays, breaks, and summer break time off with pay. (Her current teaching job, at a private school, pays hourly so no pay when not working.)
Sneakers: Pray for the Holy Ghost to open up opportunities to share the Gospel with him..."Isaiah" is a great name, I'd ask him if he's ever read about the story of him in the Old Testament! My morning prayer often includes for the Lord to give me an opportunity to share the Good News of Lord Jesus.
“We are the Bibles the world is reading; we are the creeds the world is needing; we are the sermons the world is heeding.” --Billy Graham

My morning prayer often includes for the Lord to give me an opportunity to share the Good News of Lord Jesus. I've got another story for him to read in the Old Testament: His middle name is "Adam." The story that I heard was his Mom picked out the name and somebody commented to his father about who Isaiah and Adam are in the Bible. He's gone to bed, but tomorrow is trash day and I'll probably get to talk to him tomorrow.
He's been looking for a letter to him to come in the mail. Usually I get to see what's coming in tomorrow's mail by this time in Informed Delivery. So far, it shows no mail for anyone here tomorrow.

Fly didn't go anywhere. He is on this website every day and reads much of the new material. Taco you need to go out in the warm sunlight and defrost from that Minnecolda winter so you can see what folks are saying to you. Ahhhhhh gotta love living next to the desert. I have been mowing the lawn again for the last couple of months and have the AC turned on every day from about 10 AM until 9 PM.

I went in the hospital Wed. to have a graft put in. Everything is so painful and there's huge thick purple patches from under my arm all the way down to my elbow. First every thing went numb under my arm from my elbow down to my wrist. Now my hand has been going numb on and off. Horrible pain and lots of concerns for the moment. I've been taking pain pills, but I have to watch out for constipation unless I wish to end up in the hospital once again for months on end like before.
I'll tell you one thing, I don't appreciation this new adventure I am on, that's for sure!
How are you and hubby doing mexicomaria?

Good morning from Colorado...got home late from work and reading the news about what happened to happen yesterday while I was there! :-)
Fly? Glad to hear from you!! You don't get tired of not having four seasons? I had many Air Force friends who got stationed in Oahu and, at first, LOVED it but, after about a year, said they really started to miss the four seasons. Hawaii only, really, has two...hot with a chance of afternoon showers and hot with a slighter larger chance of afternoon showers!
Sissurf: It's a gimmick. Search for it on Amazon and try to find honest reviews...not many (any) because the Chinese pop in with "new" selling markets and dump a bunch of merch and, when poor reviews some coming in, delete them and start a new market....scammers! I'd pass. (It's like those devices you plug into your vehicles OBD2 port in the front and are supposed to increase mileage and HP and do miracles...total scam and dangerous for your cars' computers.) Or like those golf devices "guaranteed" to prevent a slice! Yeah, right!
So a winter storm is coming in starting with rain this afternoon then 3 inches of snow tonight. I think I'll go put some fertilizer on my front lawn in a bit. (Got a bag leftover from last season.)
Friday! Got a busy weekend planned...oldest daughter and family are moving out of their house (it's sold) next week and living with us for about 3 weeks until school is over and then they are moving to Arkansas....we are planning on taking our RV down in late-September to visit! (Exciting!!)
Oh, remember, kitchen renovations are counter productive!! ;-)
Forgot to pass along just how many baptisms we had a few weeks ago...418!!! In our 24-years of being members of New Life Church, this is, by far, the largest number (and we've had a lot!) Lord Jesus is coming back soon and very soon and the Great Harvest of souls has begun!
Joel 2:28-32
And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit. And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.
