Talking about the weather -- this area is supposed to get rain today (it is raining right now), tomorrow and maybe all day Sunday. Here is why:
Subtropical Storm Alberto formed over Caribbean Sea. Subtropical Storm Alberto was upgraded at 11 a.m. A subtropical storm is one that has not acquired full tropical characteristics at this time. Alberto will be a maker of heavy rain and possibly flash flooding. They don't think the winds will become hurricane strength. Better not, we won't have our new hurricane windows to mid/late June!

gascat, simple question: how do I just make a simple post? There only seem to be reply options, no new post option. Hmmm, the heading of this says: 'create post' when I actually selected 'reply'. Did I just stumble on the solution?

We are getting a lot of rain in my area of FL, but there should only be minor flooding, if there is any flooding. Might be some in the low areas or where the roads don't drain properly.

Yes, we still have Amazon Prime since we paid for a year. Don't know if we are going to renew it, but SO likes the free shipping and so do I. There are a few programs we enjoy, but find Nexflix's offerings better. Anyhow, he won't have to make a decision until Nov or Dec.
The storm in the Gulf turned out to be a rain maker in my area of FL. Received just over an inch of rain at the house. But, we can receive that much during a summertime shower.

Gas Cat: Glad to know that Alberto did nothing more than to help your lawn grow. Other areas were less fortunate apparently. Weather that we are experiencing are typical for this time of year although the May is one of the driest we've had in a long time. So the prediciton is out there that this might be one of the hottest summers. Guess I don't have a hope in chance of enjoying a campfire later in July and August. Perhaps I should pick up a bunch of those flickering led lights and put them in the fire pit to emulate a camp fire
It seems that Alaric76 is getting the hang of this site.
Are you following the Stanley Cup Playoffs? It looks to be a very good series...game two tonight!

Yes, we have been following the Stanley Cup Playoffs. I am rooting for Vegas and SO is rooting for the Caps. If Vegas wins their feat won't be duplicated for many, many years, so I kinda like that story line.
Had an inch of rain this morning. Just went out to get the mail and it started raining again. May is normally a dry month for this area, but I believe the May 2018 will endup being one of the wettest May's in history. And tomorrow is the start of Hurricane Season which runs to the end of Nov. We should get our new hurricane windows sometime next month. However, I won't be surprised if the installation is later then quoted. With all the rain we have been having the company is probably behind in their installations.
Has anyone had a problem with this site crashing the Firefox browser? It happens to me all the time, so I have to use a different browser to post here.

Had trouble logging in yesterday. Although I also use Firefox, I haven't experienced any problems with the site other than last night.
As for hockey, I'm good with either team winning the prize. Whichever team wins will be doing something they've never done before as both teams have never won the cup before (with Las Vegas being the obvious one...being the expansion team that they are). New territory for both teams.
Gas Cat: while you had one of the wettest May's on record, we had the dryest ever recorded. Very unusual to say the least, but I hope June will be a bit wetter. We need the rain to stock up for the summer. We might get that wish as the next several days might bring some of that weather, but so far, it looks like it's going to be just a sprinkle.
Oh well...in that case...sunny days ahead for next week...can't complain too much about that.
Interesting Gas Cat...what is the difference between regular windows and Hurricane windows? I assume they will have safety glass.
Alaric76: You're missing a good hockey finals...next game is on Saturday.
