The Tampa Bay Lightning are one win away from advancing to the Stanley Cup Final, where they would be looking to win the Cup for the third consecutive year. It seemed like this may not be the case early in the Eastern Conference Final.
However, things have quickly turned in the Lightning's favor. After the New York Rangers won Games 1 and 2 on their home ice, they dropped Games 3 and 4 in Tampa, Florida. Then, the Lightning kept the momentum by winning Game 5 in New York.
That means the series could end Saturday night when the Rangers and Lightning meet in a Game 6 matchup at Amalie Arena in Tampa. If New York can win to stave off elimination, there will be a winner-take-all Game 7 at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night.

The Lightning are the first team to advance to three straight Stanley Cup finals since the Oilers from 1983-85.
No team has won three straight Cups since the Islanders won four straight from 1980-83.
Can the Lightning win a third straight Cup, time will tell.

It certainly is nice to have others who enjoys baseball as much as I do! Go Rangers! Go Mets!
I too need foot surgery on both feet. I have been putting it off for too many years. I have an appointment with my podiatrist in 3 weeks..... Best of luck on your upcoming surgery Gas Cat!
I have been keeping busy with gardening and now it's canning time, green beans and tomatoes right now. I have been making many different things out of the abundance of yellow summer squash. Tomorrow I'm going to make a kale pie most delicious thing you ever tasted.This year was the first picking of homegrown grapes so instead of raspberry wine we have got grape wine in the big crock fermenting. It certainly takes a tremendous amount of grapes compared to other fruits to make wine.

The sutures came out last Wednesday, but I still have a ton of restrictions. Have to keep foot dry and elevated. No walking in grocery stores, but I can walk down to the mailbox, and of course, from the parking lot into the doctor's office. This "bump in the road" will soon be over and I hope that the pain I was having prior to the surgery is gone, and it should be, or I would not have had the surgery.

Hey alaric76. Going to the Doc tomorrow. I sure wish he had not given me tape to use that he said I was not allergic to because I am allergic to the tape and now my foot is red and swollen. I took a pic of my foot on Monday just to show him what his carelessness has caused. I trusted he had checked with my allergist or with 3M to make sure that the ingredients used in their product was not on my allergy list, but I know now without asking him that he did not bother to check it out. Just "thought" I would not be allergic to this particular type of tape. SIGH
As for our country, really don't even have a good choice for Governor this year. Current one or one that was a republican governor who has decided to run as a democrat this time, and he was not a very good governor when he held the office. At least the current one is better than he was, yet I would have like another choice.
