Have not been on line for a few days. Checking in today. I keep reading that the car manufactures are discontinuing cars in favor of trucks and SUV. Don't understand why they are doing this as the price of gas will only go up over the longer term. Don't know if the current models of trucks and SUV get better gas mileage then they used to. Never heard of thieves drilling gas tanks for fuel before. But when the price of gas goes up I guess anything is possible. Lightning won against the Boston Bruins yesterday. gas cat, I hope I'm using this correctly. I'm not sure how to start a new post.

Hey Alaric, you made it! Finally! Looks like you have the idea.
How are things going?
Gas Cat: The Winnipeg Jets are going to face the Las Vegas Golden Knights. That should be a good series as both teams play the same type of game with lots of speed.
Both series should provide good entertainment. Looking forward to the remaining games.
Congrats on the new car. What did you end up with? I drive a 2008 and will probably keep it for awhile as I've had absolutely no problems with it. Oil changes are so easy without having to lift it up as all of the areas are within an arms length. Gotta love engineering when it's done right!

Hi, All-
Good to hear from Gas Cat via email. Hi, Alaric- long time no see... Things pretty good here, no complaints. Got outside and worked a little on Saturday. Need the exercise...
VanKY
P.S. That's our Rhododendron out back. They like shade. We have lots of shade. That's last year's photo. Our actual plant is ready to burst into bloom any day now, probably by mid-week.
When I find my old avatar I will probably put it back up so others recognize me.

VanKY, the Rhododendrons look lovely and very healthy. Bought some rosebush fertilizer on Sat., but have not used it yet. Just feel that the plant needs something and that was the only thing I could think of since it is getting enough water.

The car is a 2018 Buick Regal Sportsback loaded with all the newest safety features. The safety features is the main reason I wanted a newer car. Plan to go to the dealership to get a lesson on some of the new to me tech on Monday. Sold my old car. Signed over the title on Sat. They need to get a temp tag and right now plan to pick the car up Wed. evening. Old car is parked in one of my neighbor's driveway.

Another lost for the Lightning to the Caps. While the Lightning looked better then they did on Friday, I'm afraid that the Caps are a much better team. I just hope that they don't sweep the Lightning.

Gas Cat: I hope you get a lot of enjoyment out of that new car. I think having all of those safety features are a great idea. The automatic front braking system on my dad's Touareg has saved him from some potential accidents as the brakes are applied automatically when the sensors sense an object in front of the car.
Had a busy past weekend as my daughter was participating in her first dragon boat race. Her team came out in top six out of 24 teams. So...pretty good. The weather was nothing short of fabulous, but I wasn't prepared for the extended day and got too much sun on my arms. I ended up with a slight sunburn...so lesson learned and sunblock from now on.
Tampa Bay did great tonight and took it to the Capitals. Series is now 2-1. So there is hope Gas Cat.
Thanks for the link. Interesting read and it's great to have that feeling of community.

Hi lightbulb1, glad to hear that your surgery went well. What was it for? My dad underwent open heart bypass last August. Everything went well, but the recovery time lingers. He has mostly good days (full of energy), but when it's bad, he gets pretty tired. Anyway, hope your recovery goes well. Take care!
