If you don't know what a Sodastream machine is, it's a home water carbonator that runs on cylinders of food-grade carbon dioxide.
If you want your water tasting like more than water, they have flavoring mixes.
It's basically getting pop for $0.91/liter for the expendables (the CO2 cylinders and the flavoring mixes).
I bought mine Monday, and today I was back at Walmart to buy more flavors.
Right now, I'm drinking Sodastream Diet Root Beer on the rocks.
I also have Diet Cola (most like Diet Coke, as opposed to Pepsi or RC) and Diet Dr Pete (their version of Diet Dr Pepper).
I also have some other flavors that I bought and haven't tried.

Tried Diet Lemon-Lime this morning. Compared to 7up, the lime note is more pronounced.
Also had "Dr Pete" (most similar to Dr Pepper Ten, being a mix of natural and artificial sweeteners) and Diet Cola today.

Bought my brother one for Christmas a few years ago. Not sure he is still using it.

My Sodastream was leaking carbonated water, making a fizzy mess on the kitchen counter. I went to the Sodastream USA site and read their troubleshooting steps. Now, my kitchen counter is drier and my drinks are fizzier. Turns out I wasn't installing the carbonating bottle properly.
I've got a relatively flat bottle of Diet Root Beer and a considerably fizzier bottle of what they call "Diet Dr Pete" (their more flavorful version of Diet Dr Pepper, but it's more like Pibb Zero when it comes to the flavor notes).
If you don't carbonate your water adequately and add the flavoring mix, you can't carbonate it again. Sodastream says not to do that!

Read Sodastream's advice to use cold water, the colder the better (unless there is ice in it). The bottle I made about 4:00 PM today was made with filtered water put in the fridge. Probably the best that I've made so far! It was Diet Dr Pete. I've consumed about half of a bottle of Diet Dr Pete flavoring syrup. Probably because I'm a Diet Dr Pepper fan. But I also like the Diet Cola and Diet Root Beer.

Made a liter of Sodastream Diet Cola about 9:00 AM. It's nearly gone. Wish I had the Diet Ginger Ale concentrate that's being shipped to me as we wait expectantly for the big brown truck or its competitors in commerce.

Just made a liter of Sodastream Diet Root Beer. Noticed that I've been drinking a lot of it. My housemate Chelsea (who usually fixes supper for the guys and her, but she won't eat red meat but the guys will so she cooks two batches of everything) said "You do like that thing!" I said, "Where else can you get pop for 41ยข a liter?"

Drank all the Diet Root Beer that I made. Made a liter of Diet Cola. Won't finish it off tonight.

Finished off the last of the Sodastream Diet Cola I mixed up this morning. Decided to use up the Sodastream Dr Pete because the kid wants real Dr Pepper. Last batch of real Dr Pepper I bought was three fridge packs for $9.99; it was on sale with a store coupon. The kid also insists that I not feed him store brand chips.

Finished off the last of the Sodastream Dr Pete.
Decided to drink some Sodastream Diet Fountain Mist. Very close clone of PepsiCo's citrus flavored caffeinated pop product. Complete with yellow-green color.
I now have six bottles of opened flavor syrups. I will have Diet Orange and Diet Ginger Ale arriving tomorrow if UPS knows what they're talking about. Along with more bottles of other flavors that I've opened.
A field day for a former Dr Pepper Snapple (DPS) stockholder. Sold my stock in them only because they are being acquired by Keurig in a mostly cash transaction.

Decided I'm going to stick to the brown drinks. Like the brown drinks better anyway. But I'll drink a light-colored one for a change. Who was it who said "Variety is the spice of life?" (William Cowper, best known as a poet who put words to a large number of hymn tunes.)

It's coming by big brown truck tomorrow. We got a half-dozen packages from the USPS today. Got to buy a lot of things when your house gets basically wiped out.

If you're a carbonated soft drink devotee, it's great. If you're not, it would probably be a useless expense.
I used to be a stockholder of Coca-Coca, Dr Pepper Snapple, and PepsiCo. Companies that used to interest me.

Got up and made a liter of Diet Dr Pete this morning. Used it to wash down my morning pills.
Out cruising in the wee small hours (got points from that other site except the last 200 of the day) and picked up a large Diet Dr Pepper at the local Whataburger. I also made a trip to the bank.
