Continuing the legacy of Hambone61:
I will post a question on an aspect of automotive trivia. Here's an example:
In what model year was the Chevrolet Bel Air introduced? (Answer: 1950)
The person who answers correctly then provides a new question. Keep the questions simple enough so everyone has a chance to answer correctly. Disputed answers will be handled gracefully. In case of multiple correct responses, the earliest answer gets to submit the next question.
FIRST OFFICIAL QUESTION:
What nickname was given to full-size GM station wagons between 1971 and 1976?
This is a game--have fun!

Depends on who you ask. Some say the 1949 Oldsmobile Rocket 88.

1912 Cadillac Type 53 - the key unlocked the ignition lever which was used to start the car.
1949 Chrysler vehicles - the first ignition keys. Popular Mechanics April 1949 article about the new line of Chrysler cars and their ignition keys. The article suggests the ignition keys are for the Plymouth and Dodge lines, not clear which models or other lines.
"Among the innovations of primary interest to the driver is the combination ignition and starter switch which eliminates the starter button. The car starts by turning the ignition key slightly beyond the 'ignition on' position. When released, the key automatically returns to 'ignition on'. Aside from the convenience to the driver, this starter makes it impossible for children to move a car which has been left in gear by pushing the starter button."
