Sneakers--Five-page return. Guess you cannot e-file. Had that issue for a couple of years until daughter found my id numbers. The two years I mailed the return was 20+ pages. Glad those days are over. Lately I have messed up payments, especially after our son passed. But I guess that is expected. Nothing that I had to call and get an extension. Hope the check got to Woodsboro court by today. I will call to check on it.
Uncle--The Mavericks are going to have a difficult time with the Celtics. I guess they can just give them the trophy now and let the players start their vacation. Stars did well until the played the Oilers. Maybe next year if they can keep the team together. Rangers and Astros having a hard time. Astros starting rotation out with injuries, one or two for the season. No World Series trip this year.
Patty--BIL is a macho Marine ultimate control freak. We were the first in the family to stand up to him but now, except for caretaker sister, no one is speaking to either of them. One would think he would mature, but some people never will. Caretaker mentioned while living with us she was hoping they would move back to SP. I told her if they do, I won't visit her or help her. She gave me the deer in headlight look. Every family has their drama.
The local softball team which finished second in the state had a parade in their honor last night. We got there too late and wasn't aware that one block from where we were they were having a celebration in the park. We instead, went to a local restaurant to hear a friend who was playing there.
Before, made changes to our wills due to the death of our son.
Headed to the gym and then work on message for this Sunday.

The return was more complex in 2022 but I could E-file. All I have is a Form 1040-SR in 2023 and I could not E-file. Or that was what TurboTax told me.

Soutxed: I agree that no family is without drama. Some have more than others. I texted one of my sister's, who lives about 30 miles from here, on her birthday, wedding anniversary, Christmas, etc. and almost never hear back. I am all done writing to her. Other sisters in the family have the same issue with this sister so it is not me. She did contact everyone when she was going to have a medical procedure about 2 years ago. Had to listen to 1.5 hours of her yacking on the phone about the procedure. If I knew it was going to be that long, I would have cut her off after 10 minutes. I did not have to hear every minute detail. So done with it.
Have a good weekend!!!

I was told today by the principal that the last day of school, June 26th, will be a half day. Just like a Friday. The students will be happy about that. patty7841, I'm going to call Monday to make sure my insurance will cover one crown this year. Once I know for sure, I can make my summer plans. Sorry to hear about your crown. They are supposed to stay for the rest of your life. soutxed, the Celtics had an easy time with the Mavericks in game 1. They say one game does not a series make. Perhaps Sunday things will be different. As a fan of the Calgary Flames, I can't pull for the Oilers. Even if a Canadian team hasn't won it since 1993. Florida has never won it. O an 2 for far. I'll pull for them. Neither the Rangers or Astros are in a playoff spot, but such a long way to go. TGIF! Take care everyone.

Uncle--I agree that one game doesn't make a playoff. Dallas has A 1-3 record in game ones this year. Hope your crown works out. I had to have one put back on several years ago. Students & teachers like those half days. But probably the teachers will work a full day using the afternoon for grading papers and getting their affairs in order (clean room, put away things, etc.)
Patty--No one except caretaker sister talks to the twin. A niece or two try to talk her out of that communication but SIL says she is family and we all should put aside the hurt. But as I told her many years, BIL has passed the 70 times 7 of forgiveness mentioned in the Bible. Also, even the Pope says there is forgiveness without reconciliation.
Worked on revising our wills so that son's children get his half of whatever we have when we pass away. Glad I checked wife's as there was an error in her will. Now we need to find two witnessed to take to the Notary Public.
Went to a club to relax. Ran into a former student and then co-worker. She moved away several years ago and maybe have seen her twice. She has the same name as a controversial state Senator and lives in the same district, so her name appears on Billboards and some of her friends think she is running for office.
Not much today as I put finishing touches on my talk for tomorrow.

I texted one of my sister's, who lives about 30 miles from here, on her birthday, wedding anniversary, Christmas, etc. and almost never hear back. AJ is annoyed with my brothers. Every time we went to Missouri, Allen would bug out and never made his presence known. As AJ said, "At least he should have you over for dinner." Bruce is a different case. He never answers his phone. If you want to contact him, you need to go through E-mail. He also said when they first put me in hospice that I should sell the house and go into a nursing home. I didn't need hospice and I don't need a nursing home. My regular doctors who have actually examined me say I didn't need hospice and this health care agency doctor pops up never physically seeing me and says I belong in hospice. Sounds like fraud, waste, and abuse to me. I have to September to complain. The only one of my girl cousins that I contact that AJ likes is Martha. He can do without Janet and Sonja.

Sneakers, There is a lot of fraud and abuse and a waste of time for me with some of the doctors I have been to. I have been given the wrong diagnosis, symptoms that I had when visiting doctor were not written correctly and therefore not treated at all or given wrong meds. On the patient portal, I have seen the use of templates being used on patient records to insurance companies, to make it look like you had a full exam. Three doctors have done the latter to me recently. I saw these doctors for 5 or 10 minutes for a verbal consult and they put in all this garbage of a full exam. I am so sick of how these people can get away with what they are doing. Then it is the 6-12 month wait now for some doctor you want and need to see. There is a never an end to this despicable medical care (or is it medical care - I say it is garbage).

Thursday night, I got to sleep about eleven o’clock and woke up about 8:30 AM. Got up and went in the business room and turned on the FOX 26 morning news.
Krista the nurse came by, took my vital signs, and rebandaged my left big toe.
Didn’t tell the boys to remove the trash and of course they don’t do it without a reminder.
Three pieces of snail mail yesterday. One lawyer ad from one who had sent it before (didn’t have to forward it to my lawyer), one ad for a pest control company we stopped using, and a message from a technical society.
Lunch yesterday was a can of fruit and a Stouffer’s Meat Lover’s Lasagna.
Turned on the ABC 13 news at 3:00 PM and switched to KPRC Channel 2 at four o’clock.
AJ had one of the credit cards to get stuff we needed and he needed gas. The card was spent to less than $100 from the maximum and when that happens you have to pay for gas inside the store. He tried swiping it twice at the pump without any luck. I probably should’ve called him because I was getting the rejection messages on my cell phone.
Last night, I had a can of fruit and some Raising Canes chicken fingers for supper.
Watched about the first three innings of the Astros game and switched to the late local news on ABC 13. Went to bed a bit before midnight and slept until about 10:30 AM.
Lunch was a can of fruit and a Stouffer’s Meat Lover’s Lasagna. Wiped out both of them.
Went in the business room and said “Alexa! Play music!” and I got some pretty good classic rock. Listened to five o’clock and then turned on KPRC Channel 2. Saw “The Texas Bucket List,” the national news, and the local news.
Went in my bedroom a while and called family. Only got cousin Martha.
Called AJ. He is going to make our default food because he didn’t take out the chicken early enough and it is still frozen. He seems to make the default food a lot.

Patty--So sad that you have had so many bad experiences with doctors. My previous clinic often billed Medicare for a full exam, but they were up front as the reimbursement for the short exam was so little here in south Texas compared to the cost to doctors. Liability insurance in south Texas is very high as there are so many lawsuits against the medical community here. Part of the reason us so many crooked judges here.
Sneakers--What is default food? Didn't know if a credit card it near the limit one has to go inside to pay. Interesting.
Not much yesterday. Went to get a haircut and wife went to a ladies clothing store nearby recommended by a friend, but nothing uner $100 there.
Wateched some of the ice hockey and baseball.

"Default food" is my name for frozen pizza. It's what we default to when AJ or Isaiah don't want to cook anything else. (John and I rarely cook, I eat a lot of fruit and lunchmeat sandwiches. Usually that's my lunch.)
When you put in a credit card to buy gas, they send out an authorization for (usually) $100. If you're nearly maxed out, that won't go through. But if you go in and buy a particular amount, they'll authorize for that much and no more.
I got up about 9:45 AM and AJ said "You're going to be late to church!" I said I had plenty of time because they start streaming at 10:15 AM.

The Canadian Football season has started. My team, the Calgary Stampeders won their first game. They didn't do well last year. soutxed, the first half of the NBA final game 2 just finished and it is at least close. It's not over until it's over. I see the Astros are still trying to move up in the standings. KC and Minnesota are in wild card spots. So far I've had three crowns put in and no problem so far. Knock on wood. I'm sure teachers look forward to summer too. Did you get paid in the summer or just while school was being attended? Kind of a funny story about that former student of yours. Someone else running for office with her name. Sure hope that doesn't last too long. Take care everyone.

Last night, I got to bed just before midnight. Watched the late local news, which stretches out on the weekend.
Made some comfort stops in the middle of the night, up about 9:30 AM.
Got out of my bedroom about 9:45 AM, went in the business room and watched the last fifteen minutes of the ABC 13 news.
Turned on Cousin Martha's church service at 10:15 AM. Fell asleep listening to the service. Woke up when it was over.
After that, I told Alexa to play some music. She responded with a feed of classic rock.
Lunch was a couple of sandwiches, bologna and Colby Jack cheese on HEB Round Top Butter Bread.
At three o'clock, I turned on the Angels-Astros game. Angels won 9-7 in the ninth inning. By that time, the early evening news was over.
Got Alexa to playing music again while doing things on the ThinkPad.
A few minutes to nine o'clock, I turned on CW 39 and waited for the start of the news.
Got four pieces of mail showing in Informed Delivery, one offering me a loan (which will go in the shredder), one for somebody who lived here ten years ago "or current resident" (which will go in the shredder), and two letters for AJ.
Had cheeseburgers for supper. Isaiah brought me a dish of barbecue sauce to dip the burgers in.
Tomorrow, I have two things that I need to do. Need to call lawyer's office and tell them I messed up and overpaid a bill, which made their regular draft get returned unpaid. Couldn't undo the other payment. Nurse Krista is coming by to check my vital signs and rebandage my left big toe late in the morning.

Sneakers--A lawyers draft gets returned. Not good. When I was going through the divorce, I had a similar experience. Secretary called and gave me the "lecture." Tried to explain soon to be ex was running up bills. In the end, it all worked out. Here default is pick up pizza.
Uncle--Astros pitching seems to have improved, but still needs work. Mavericks blew their lead in Boston. Let's see what happens when they return home. Teachers look forward to summer. Our pay is spread out over 12 months. Some taxpayers say we get 3 months of paid vacation, but in reality, we loan the district the money. In Texas and many states, we return in the middle of August for in-service after ending the last of May, so it is more like two and half months. A niece ended school last week in San Antonio and started the third week of August. Her graduation was Saturday afternoon and SIL complained about walking through the parking lot in 100-degree heat then having her bottle of water taken from her at the entrance. Then found out the Alamodome charged $10 for a bottle of water.
News says the air quality here in the RGV was worse the last two months than Los Angeles, NYC, Chicago and Houston. Many days listed as unhealthy for most and all day as unhealthy for certain people. it is all blamed on the smoke from Mexico and Central America. One person running for Congress here said she would invade Mexico and Central America to stop the illegals, put out the fires, and get the water they owe us. She lost in the primary.
I guess my talk went well, but few shook my hand afterward.
Went to eat at a local seafood restaurant, prices are about the same, but the portions were smaller (4 shrimp instead of 6 or 7.) Quality wasn't as good as in the past.
Got our wills done and will have to find some witnesses to get them notarized. Had to remove our son., First draft was to make daughter 100% of everything, but since son's children are adults, state law strongly suggested that they get a portion. That is probably fair and didn't want to have a court fight. Hope it will be a while before we need them.
Gym time.

I didn't get a lecture. They asked me how much I could pay now. From what I gather, they'll add on the amount I'm short after what would be the last payment. They expect that they will be drafting my account Wednesday. I miskeyed an amount into a Web site that has no ability to reverse a payment. Going to be very careful now with that one.
