patty7841, that bus probably did use hazard lights at that railroad crossing. That would make sense. Getting blood drawn from a hand? That is different. Glad it wasn't too bad. lorando (NW PA), Steelers win 13-6. Yes, another low scoring win. A good start for them, but still no Russell Wilson. Most of our buses have 12 rows of seats, so 24 seats, with the back row having a narrow one. Some kids called it the toilet seat. I'll keep donating blood with my left arm. My right arm just gets tired, even though it's my dominant hand. soutxed, some schools have many buses and only the buses have a sign, if that. So confusion can happen. Especially if a route changed and a student looks at who is now their old driver and now they are on another route. Glad we are past the part of the school year. Take care everyone.

Good Morning, Patty. I was thinking of you over the weekend because the Yankees were playing the RedSox at Fenway. A typical 3-game series with the usual craziness and drama whenever those teams meet. But fun to watch. I was reading about stink bugs on Saturday. They were first discovered in the U.S. in our area (Pittsburgh). Your Welcome! But that's not something we want to be known for! Who knows how they got from Asia to Pittsburgh. It's not a port or usual point of entry. Anyway, just some useless information to add to your day.
Hello, Sneakers. I see your cable hasn't arrived yet. Interesting how a $7 or $8 piece of wire can disrupt our routines. Hope you get re-connected ASAP.
Hi, Uncle. I was sick yesterday, and spent most of the day wrapped up in a blanket, napping, or watching sports. I feel quite a bit better today, and had a good breakfast. Hopefully I can venture out by tomorrow. Seattle and P'burgh are both 2-0 now, so you and I have cause to celebrate this week. Steelers are playing old fashioned football, running more than any team, and depending on the defense (or defence🇨🇦). Still no Russell Wilson, but Justin Fields is holding down the fort nicely. Yankees will be in Seattle this week, so I'll be asleep before the games even begin. Then it's Oakland, Baltimore, and Pittsburgh to finish out the season. Hope your week goes well, and you have a full team for bowling tomorrow.
Hi, soutxed. Good move on your son-in-law"s part to have one of those button-trackers in his wallet. That kept him from having a really bad day. All it takes is one "save" to pay for itself. When I have time I might take a look at them to find out more.
Hi, Ed, A credit freeze is well worth the time you spend setting it up. I've had the 3 freezes in place for quite awhile now. Putting in a temporary "unfreeze order" is easy. I think I've only had to do that once or twice, but I don't recall why. It automatically reverts back to "freeze mode" after a short period of time, or you can do it yourself online. Hope you have a good week.

Uncle--Dallas Cowboys took a loss to the Saints. Didn't see the game but from the accounts, looked very different from the team that beat Cleveland last week. University of Texas #1 on the back of backup QB Archie Manning, from the Manning family. I see the buses here use their lights at railroad crossings.
Patty--I have been the victim of fraud, and bank and credit card hacks. My Credit Union, my main bank blocked the use of Pay Pal and similar apps as that is how some of the hacking happened. A few years ago I didn't care as I knew little about those apps. I had a second account that was Mother's and kept it as I was the signer but changed it to my wife and me. With SIL getting cancer treatment and Texas Medicaid doesn't cover all the expenses, one sister started raffle and we surprisingly she set an app to pay. My game pay goes there and a few extra payments so i had to wait for football pay to get involved. So fasr she has raised $1000+ for sister.
Lorando--Glad your Stealers did well, the Cowboys suck but the Texans did well. Sorry you were sick. Guess you didn't make it to church. Who opened up? Those Tile apps are helpful. Lost wife's car keys a few weeks ago and the app didn't work. Luckily I found them later. But destroyed the app and was going to do the same to the truck keys. But a couple of days later the app worked. Since the Astros and Rangers are in the west, we get a lot of late games (9PM central) but I can only see them when on ESPN or Fox. TNT, MLB, and Fiox Sportd channel black Rangers and Astros game due to Major League rules..
Since we got back so late from SPI due to the wallet issue, I was falling asleep in church. Afterward we went to lunch and then to shop in McAllen. While we were gone Harlingen got 5 1/2 inches of rain. Some streets were flooded but not ours. However we got an Amazon package (my doorbell camera alerted me) and when I watched the video I could see the rain. As we drove home it rained on us for the last half of the drive.
Daughter's family left as the rain let up and made it back to Victoria safely. It was a great weekend. This coming weekend is my 60th class reunion. Looking forward to it.
Sneakers, hope you can get back online soon.

Uncle: The blood drawn from the hand was not bad. I guess it depends on who is drawing the blood. You can have a bad tech and it could be very bothersome.
lorando: Glad you are feeling better. I did know that the stink bugs originally came from Asia but I did not know about them being involved in Pittsburgh. Interesting.
Soutxed: Gee, You are older than me. I feel like a kid as far as age but not the way I feel (I don't like old age as I have not been well.) I used to walk 2-3 miles a day and now just walking to the car is bothersome.
Have a good week Everyone.

Jumped fr9m the nursing home back to the hospital: wîll I EVER get of a medical facility? Sunday morning at the nursing facility, I had difficulty staying asleep ànd got very disoriented and spacey. Sometime in the afternoon I was transported by BB ambulance to Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital. Didn't really became aware of where I was untilm just after midnight Monday. Been here getting IVs ever since. Scheduled for a MRI on the left big toe stump to check it for anything amiss.

Sneakers--So sorry to see you back in the hospital. Do you think it will be long? What about your belongings? Did they get moved?
Patty--I am older than many people but feel decent for my age. Sleep apnea is a problem.
Uncle--This Saturday is the 35th anniversary of one of the worse school bus accidents and it happened 35 miles from here. A Dr. Pepper truck driver ran a stop sign and broad sided a school bus with 80 students. It went into a deep pond near the intersection resulting in 21 students dying, 40+ with various injuries and nearly all facing trauma. The bus was big enough to hold over 80 students. Barely made the national news as a major hurricane was hitting the east coast at the same time.
Went to HEB and noticed an increase in prices on some items. Passed on eggs which went up $1 since Friday.
HEB monthly luncheon postponed from last week. Not sure how many we will have as several called they have doctor's appointments. Also, some are not coming because they do not like the restaurant where we are meeting now. Two couples who help will be out today. One is out of town and another is not feeling well.

Good Morning, Sneakers. Sorry to hear you're back in the hospital. I hope the MRI of your foot comes back negative for further damage.
Hi, Patty, Thanks for the "Get Better" wishes. I feel back to normal this morning, after a second 10-hour sleep last night. I don't have anything that has to be done until Thursday, so it's all good. Hope your day goes well.
Hello, soutxed. 60th class reunion! I'd say that calls for a celebration. I've lost track of all things high school. For me the college years were so much better! I was in the class of '64, so we're close to the same age. I remember visiting my brother in Beaumont TX around 1962 with my family --- a long, hot drive back in those days, with no a/c in the car (a 1955 Mercury station wagon), no Interstate highways, and no Sirius XM radio. I remember it was over 100 degrees going through Cincinnati. Also remember seeing wild boars and armadillos for the first time in Louisiana.

Dang sneakers, I was hoping your absence was due to your missing charge cable.

Got out of the hospital about ⁶:30 PM. Wheelchair shuttle took me back to the rehab facility. Couldn't find the TV remote so I'm down to KPRC Channel 2 on and off. I need to have something done to the power jack on the iPad. Nothing is coming in on the cable TV connection at home. Got an appointment for Thursday morning. Xfinity was not able to ping the modem.

Lorando--Glad you feel better. Sometimes those long sleep nights are good. Astros back to winning so 5 games over Seattle. Never attended a college reunion, do not know if there is one fore Pan American College (now UTRGV) where I graduated. Since I live near Brownsville, I often run into friends from HS more than college classmates. After moving to Brownsville in 1955, we would drive back to Galveston for a short summer vacation, and it was hot. Also, part of the misery was dad was tone deaf and didn't like hearing music, so the radio was on a 50,000-watt Houston news station.
Sneakers--Glad you are out of the hospital but sad you cannot find the remote. Like Patty, I hope your 2025 is better.
HEB luncheon was a challenge. The place where we meet only holds 60 people and 71 showed up. Staff found another table that holds ten people, and one poor man had to sit by himself at the sign in table. Coordinator made the decision, something we suggested for a year or two that members will have to call in reservations with a cut off three days before the meeting. Most other chapters use email but some of our members do not have email. The RGV has one of the lowest internet families which was a problem during covid for some students.
After lunch, we went to Wal Mart as my Medicare Advantage pays for OTC medical related stuff at WM and a couple of other places up to $110 every three months. Had $50+ left on mine, so we use up that money, but get to the check stand and it wouldn't take the card. Left everything at the register. After we left, I wished we had taken it to self-checkout. Our local WM self-checkouts work better than manned registers.
If I didn't need one of those meds now, I would wait until we go to Brownsville. May go back to WM again and go to self-checkout.
Have a good day

Good Morning, Sneakers. Glad you're back in familiar surroundings. I don't understand the power jack, modem, pinging, home cable stuff, but it sounds like you're making progress narrowing down your posting problem. I second Patty's wish for a better 2025 for you. I'm feeling back to normal again. Drove over to an Ohio border town yesterday to get some cheap juice for the car. $3.07/g there. $3.52/g here. I probably used a gallon to get there and back, but it was a nice day for a drive.
Hi, soutxed. Yankees' magic number to clinch a playoff spot is 1. Maybe tonight will be the night. 4 game lead over the Orioles. Does Houston still have that all-news radio station? I read New York's WCBS news station just went off the air last week. Even though I haven't heard it since I retired, it was part of my morning routine for years. Sad to see it go. Guess news isn't a money maker. I feel sorry for the guy who had to eat by himself at the luncheon. He must have felt like a kid, who wasn't allowed at the adult table. That would have been my last H-E-B Luncheon! Eggs went up a dollar over the weekend? Yow, I wonder why.
Hi, Patty. Any luck with the oven?

The staff at the nursing home refreshed the linens on my bed. I am lying in bed. Got two prescriptions for AJ to pick up for when I get home. I went ahead and prepaid them. Staff from the business office dropped by my room and picked up my insurance cards. Don't know when I am going home but hopefully soon.

lorando: I am supposed to have the stove brought in tomorrow. However, the maintenance guy may be busy with the window company (the absolute morons) who did the windows here last Winter. The company was supposed to put child proof latches on the all 2nd floor windows last Friday. They came and by 9:00 am, the company was gone. The guy was extremely rude. He came empty handed with no latches. He was told to get off the property. Now this place is having him back. My goodness. I told the maintenance guy that my windows are all set. There are 2 windows in the back which have the latches on them already. The 2 front windows do not need them as there is a high deck, in the front, from one end of each building to the other side. No issues with those.
Soutxed: Do have BCBS for your Medicare Advantage. I get $250 for medical supplies every quarter. I hardly ever spend it though People in retail tell me I am foolish not to use the funds. I will buy a blood pressure machine, first aid kit and an Electric toothbrush. I have $113 left from this quarter which ends in 12 days. When I get the time, I will go out shopping. I agree with the customers as why should the money get put back in the insurance companies' pocket.
Sneakers: I really hope you are out of rehab soon. You must be getting anxious to get out of there. I am surprised that you are not more informed about your discharge or at least where you stand.
Take care Everyone!!!
