The staff at the nursing home refreshed the linens on my bed. I am lying in bed. Got two prescriptions for AJ to pick up for when I get home. I went ahead and prepaid them. Staff from the business office dropped by my room and picked up my insurance cards. Don't know when I am going home but hopefully soon. And still no sign of the remote? I'm starting to think they have a shortage of them and they keep grabbing them from unused beds to give to an occupied bed.

I am clueless and kept in the dark about when I am going to get out of here It is mainly up to the doctor who will get the question tomorrow. I have a Foley and I don't think they will send me home with it. There is an advantage to me staying here, I don't pay for food, electricity, or water at home. We are scraping the bottom of the barrel for funds. I was asking the doctor last week.

Patty--I have Cigna. So far it has been good to us. I am not aware of any MA that offers $250 a quarter in OTC, but Texas laws are different. SIL still struggling to get Medicaid to cover her chemo treatments. Family having to help with expenses. We have to take her home today after her treatment. Can you use your OTC benefits at CPS. Hopefully the stove arrives on time and gets set up quickly.
Sneakers--I agree with Ed about the remote. But your facility seems to have more class than most of the ones here. Can you pay bills with what you have there? Hopefully you are home by the time I get back from reunion Sunday night.
Lorando--Astros lose again to San Diego last night. Gas is higher in Ohio than here. Prices went up the last two days from $2.55 to $2.79. As usual Valero went first, and the others followed suit. Saw that the two truck stops outside of town are still near $2.55. Not sure about the radio station as I cannot pick it up here now. May check next time we are in Victoria. The solo eater didn't complain as he came alone.
Went to WM in San Benito and the cashier there determined the problem with the OTC card. So we got our stuff there and then went to a shoe repair place there. Wife has some high heels she wants to wear this weekend, but the repair shop didn't have the thing that goes on the bottom of the heal for her shoe. However, she paid $5 for them a Goodwill when we went to Victoria for our son's funeral.
Came home to mow the lawn. Usually move the truck from driveway to street but it wouldn't start. The battery is dead as interior lights didn't come on. Couldn't find anyone in the neighborhood to help me push the truck so we can hook up jumper cables. May need to drive it hard for an hour and see what happens. If not, take it to Auto Zone where I purchased the battery, but may not have time until after the reunion.
Should be able to post tomorrow but will be busy Saturday and Sunday morning with reunion stuff.

Good Morning, Sneakers. I think Ed has a good theory about the shortage of remotes in your rehab facility. Too bad you can't make an "interdepartmental transfer" yourself the next time you see an unused remote. Perhaps a disguise 🥸😎 and some stealthy observations would help! It might also hasten your discharge if they throw you out! 😜 On a more serious note, perhaps you could ask to see a copy of the facility's "Patient Bill of Rights", especially the part about patient involvement in discharge procedures.
Hi, Patty, you're lucky to have windows in the front and back of your apartment. That means more light and cross ventilation. I suppose it also means more cold air getting in during winter months. I only have windows facing north, so I don't see sunrises or sunsets from inside. Good luck with the new oven. Hope the maintenance guy gets to it today. We seem to go through maintenance and management people like crazy, but they do a good job. They probably work hard, get some experience, and move on to one of the company's larger complexes. But that's the way things are supposed to work, isn't it?
Hello, soutxed. Yanks are 5 games up on the Orioles. Woke up at 2AM and asked Siri for the final scores. You sound like you're really looking forward to your 60th reunion. Is it in Galveston? If we don't hear from you for awhile, we'll know you're having fun! Have at it!

Tuesday morning, I got yet another new student. He's in grade 1 and his mother said he is a new rider and doesn't know what he's doing. She wanted him to have a buddy. So when we got to the school, I told the lady that greets the students he needed a buddy. All went well as far as I know. Bowling went okay Tuesday. Three of us were there. Still no points for two of our players, but something might change by next week for them. lorando (NW PA), sorry to hear you were sick. At least you won't have to call work about it. I wonder of Seattle or Pittsburgh, which will end up with a winning record. Could be neither or both for all I know. The Yankees are finishing off the season well. You must be pleased. Baltimore is doing the opposite. soutxed, in regards to Dallas and New Orleans, is a loss just a loss? Perhaps the Saints are a real good team this year. Time will tell. Another Manning playing QB? It does run in the family. That was a terrible school bus accident. I wonder how the surviving students are 35 years later? 60th class reunion? Wow. That would be something to be at. Sure hope everyone had a good time. patty7841, glad the blood drawn from your hand was a good experience. Do you think that will happen again? sneakers (Metro Houston), also sorry to hear you were back in a hospital. Glad you are home again. Take care everyone.

Soutxed: Have a great time at your class reunion. Only comes every 5 years, so enjoy it. Be careful driving with the crazy drivers.
Uncle: The blood drawn from my hand was no big deal. It was only due to being dehydrated after waiting so long for the nurse practicioner to see me. That was so cute about the little boy, who needed a buddy as he was nervous on your bus and then getting off. Glad things appeared to have worked out.
lorando: The new oven got put in today. I am not complaining but the oven is another HotPoint. A really cheap company. This is a state-run complex, so it is what it is. I had to go out and get a 2nd oven thermometer as the temperature on the old oven was not reaching the temperature I would set the oven on. Now that I have the new one, the temperature is the same temperature on both thermometers. It does not reach the temperature I set it on. Then the dial for the oven is in 50 degree count increments, which is nuts. If I need to set the oven to 375, then I would set it to 400 and the temperature might make it to 375. You would think it would be a bit beyond 350 but nope, it does not work that way. It is bummer. Thanks for asking though.
Sneakers: I hope that you are getting out soon.
Have a nice Friday Everyone!

Patty--I agree with Lorando, you are lucky to have a view in more than one direction. Glad you had a thermometer to check the temperature of the new oven. This time of year, we don't use the oven too often. Heats up the kitchen then we have to crank up the A/C which increases the electric bill. Thanks, plan to have a good time. Packed our wardrobe for the two nights. Morning events will be casual. Shouldn't be too many crazy drivers and it's only 30 miles.
Lorando--Yankees doing well and with Judge hitting those home runs must be helpful. Astros defeated the Angels last night. I was born in Galveston and went to elementary school through 3rd grade. Then we moved to Brownsville where I finished school. The reunion is in Brownsville which is a short drive. But we stay there as it would mean traveling home to change on Saturday.
Sneakers--I like Ed's idea of seeking out a remote from someone who leaves it out. But then you want to remain on good terms with the staff. We are out of money until Wednesday in our main account. But the second bank where my game checks and extra dividends go, we can draw from that for this weekend.
Ed--Another new student. Hope he works out. There was a TV special last night about the accident with interviews of surviors, parents of those who lost a child and some of the first responders. Interesting fact I hadn't heard before is someone called the AD at the High School asking for all the coaches who know CPR to respond to the accident. After the accident, laws were changed about school bus construction. There was only windows, front and back doors for students to escape. Now there are more windows that are easy to open and a door in the roof. Hope your bowling goes well.
Had to pick up SIL after her Chemo. Wife had an appointment so I [icked her up and she came to the house to rest until wife got home. Then spent the whole afternoon in SP.
Got to get packed. With C-Pac and medications it isn't as easy as it used to be to travel.

Good Friday Morning, Sneakers. You must feel like you're a temporary Limbo, waiting for your release and funds replenishment, with no working remote or Ipad. Hopefully things will start to stabilize next week. One day at a time! Does the Rehab Center have a library you could use?
Hello, Uncle. I'm back to 100%, thanks. We had 10 sick days per year when I worked, and you could carry over the unused ones into the next year. So I hated taking sick days. It paid off at retirement when we go paid for 25% of the accumulated days, which we could spread out over a couple years to minimize taxes due. Nice touch taking the extra time to talk to the bus greeter about the little guy who needed help. I'm a firm believer that little kindnesses can be passed from person to person and grow across time until they become a giant Good Act that helps many. (Unfortunately the opposite is true too). Yankees lost after midnight local time, but I did watch the Mets defeat the Phillies on one of the Networks. Not a great Mets fan, but I like the Phillies even less, probably because of geography. Pennsylvania has a city at each end: Philadelphia on the east and Pittsburgh on the west. And when I lived in New Jersey Philadelphia was at the south end and New York was at the North. So Philadelphia has always been on the wrong ends.
Mornin', soutxed. Had a committee meeting last night, and spent the past 3 hours writing up the minutes while everything was fresh in my mind. I'll proofread it later before sending it out. Ah, Brownsville not Galveston. Hope you have a great time. Will you be going past Space-X on the way? Just checked Informed Delivery for a package I've been expecting all week. Nothing again today. Guess I'll just have to consider it a lesson in patience.
Hi, Patty. I just checked my oven. It's a HotPoint too. It's never given me problems, but then again, I'm a lousy cook and don't use it much. The microwave gets a lot more use. The dishwasher is a HotPoint too. I've never used it in my 7 years here, so I wouldn't even try it now. A friend who had his own repair business told me they need to be used regularly or you're asking for a flooded kitchen. Don't need that thanks! As I'm writing this I just saw an old fellow walking his dog (who looks equally old). The dog is wearing what look like booties on his 4 paws. I often wondered if dogs ever burned their paws on hot concrete in the summer. I'll ask if I ever run into him. But it's only in the mid 70s today.

lorando: There have been warnings all Summer here how dogs can burn their paws walking on hot concrete. They recommend walking dogs early/late in the day. If the dog needs to go out, they say to have them go in the yard where you live. HotPoint is not a very good product. I like Whirlpool or LG brands. But I have no choice living here.
Soutxed: Have a wonderful trip and reunion. I keep the blinds down most of the time other than where my parrot is. He likes looking out the window. The sunshine comes right in the front windows and it gets very hot in here in the Summer. Even with the heat/AC pumps.
Everyone, Have a great weekend!

Felt bad last night, kept having belly pain. Beginning to come to the conclusion I drank too much pop and bloated myself with carbonation. They did some imaging about the 1:30 AM. Nurse came in the room about 3:30 AM and woke me up to tell me the imaging didn't show anything amiss but by that time I was feeling better,

Slept nine hours last night. Night nurse kept an eye on me. Only drank one bottle of pop yesterday so I didn't feel bloated.
