A healthy spot doesn't mean pouring sweat and gasping for air.

I bowled well Tuesday. Two of my games were above my average. The bad news is Sunday the only other teammate that was playing said she won't be back until next season. She has health problems to take care of first. So I bowled against the team who had the person who does kind of manages league. She said they might try to get me on a team who needs a player. The advantage to the way it is right now, I can get done quicker and head home much sooner. My Wednesday curling team got another win. It might have been because during the 6th end, a player on the other team did something to his knee, and they shook hands. We were ahead by 3 points, so perhaps we would have won if we had continued. Thursday's blood donation went off without any problem. Now I'm off until Wednesday. Monday is Remembrance Day and Tuesday is a Professional day. After that, next time off will be the Christmas break. Finally, all the campaigning is over. Now back to running the government? soutxed, glad your packages are all caught up. Nice to not have balls in the air so to speak. Your country does have a wide time zone area. The Canadian way wouldn't work. You're still having breathing problems? Any idea on the reason? They were saying a lot of people were googling "did Bidden drop out of the race?". Who's Trump running against? Some people just don't keep up. Jimmy Kimmel did an on the street interview with people the day after the election. They all said they were going to vote that day, the day after the elation. Perhaps you're right. Harris got into the race too late. lorando (NW PA), Juan Soto is going to get so much money. I'd bet the contract will look real bad the ending years of it. Garrett Cole will still be with the Yankees. You're not thrilled with that move? Funny comment you had about Cole, his contract and covering first base. The Yanks will have the same manager, but a different line up? Lots of free agents out there I'm sure. patty7841, yes, I did give blood this week. All went well. Bowling will be different for me, as I'm a team of one. For now at least. Had a somewhat busy week. sneakers (Metro Houston), sorry to hear you're back in the hospital. Fingers crossed it won't be for long. TGIF! Take care everyone.

I was just in the ER, they didn't admit me. I got back home about 3:30 AM Saturday. Need to drink some water before I go to bed. I only got two small Styrofoam cups of water the whole time.

Good Morning, Sneakers. Glad your visit to the ER was a short one. That doesn"t make it any more pleasant when it's hard to catch your breath. Glad you got some more shredding and filing done. Now comes the hard part--staying organized. I plead guilty, Your Honor.
Hi, Uncle. You're a one man team. Good thing you're not playing football! Maybe you can latch on to another team as a free agent. I can see advantages and disadvantages in your current status, so the most important thing is that you're having fun! Speaking of free agents (almost) I have nothing against Geritt Cole. It just seemed like a golden opportunity for the the Yankees to get out of a long term contract as a player enters his declining years. Enjoy the long Remembrance/Veterans' Day weekend. Having a Professional Day on Tuesday is a nice added touch. Ha! Jimmy Kimmel's Man-on-the-Street interview doesn't say too much about our electorate, does it? Not so sure I'd like to see those people voting anyway.
Hello, Patty. Sorry to hear your pot smoker seems to be messing with you. That's really childish! As I understand it, the missing trail woman is in her early 30s, but has developmental problems, with a history of running away from her home. The family lives very close to the trail, and that's where she usually went. The trail isn't too far from the Geneva Swamp, which is a 5,000 acre wetland that's the subject of many local legends and eerie stories. But you're right, it pays to be vigilant. I always carry my Irish Blackthorn Walking Stick, mostly as a possible snake remover, but also because it just feels right.
Hello, soutxed. Sounds like a big showdown last night between Harlingen's two high schools. I hope it was a good game, with no extra curricular incidents. I never thought about different referees having timing differences, but it makes sense. Those are probably the little things that a good assistant coach should notice early. Temps are still on the mild side. It was 33° when I started writing this, but it should still make it into the 50s this afternoon. Nice! Had to go meet the heating guy at church yesterday to check one of the boilers that wasn't heating. Duh! A simple on/off switch was mislabeled, and someone turned the switch to the on position, which actually turned it off. Why it was off in the first place is a mystery. I have a Brother label maker, so making 4 labels, one for each of the 4 boilers is on the agenda for today.

Sneakers--Sorry to hear you had to go back to the hospital but at least it was a short stay. Did AJ take you or did you go in an ambulance? I wonder about John and people like him being on their own. A GOP Congresswoman from the valley says she is going to meet with the President of Mexico to press her about delivery of water Mexico owes us by a treaty agreement. My take is the Mexican President will tell her, you elected a President who is going to impose high tariffs on Mexican goods which hurts the Mexican economy and send back all those criminals as you call them to Mexico. Why should I help you. Without that water and the lack of rain, we will have a severe water shortage which will cause farmers not to grow crops. Also, not being able to have illegals to work the fields, cost of groceries will go up.
Uncle--So you are the only one on the bowling team. Does make for a short night. I can believe there are people who didn't know it was election day. Seems some of the Trump supporters are already realizing their mistake but it was the macho male vote in South Texas that caused the state to go very red.
Lorando--Showdown was San Benito and Harlingen, a rivalry that goes back almost hundred years. Sadly, we lost. More om it later. Cowboys have the Eagles this Sunday and it's a nationally television game, what a waste. Good to have all my packages. Wife got a package from Bed, Bath and Beyond on time, but it was delivered by UPS. Now we have to put it together.
Patty--Here in Texas Blue Cross-Blue Shield is one of the better insurance companies. But the medical costs there may be higher, but the RGV has some of the highest medical cost in Texas due to the large number of lawsuits filed against doctors and hospitals. Hopefully the weed smoker gets out.
Yesterday went well. The breathing problems are under control. I have to slow down.
Our big rivalry game didn't go well. Too many fumbles. Looked worse than the Dallas Cowboys. Best part of the night was bringing back former band students and directors for half time. It was interesting.
Wife found out an old family friend passed away when caretaker sister called and asked why she wasn't at the rosary. Wife tod her she didn't know about the death. Also learned a man from San Perlita who was a handyman for many there and very active in the church was deported last week. Wife asked if she voted for Trump and caretaker reminded her she doesn't vote because she can't read the ballot. Needless to say wife was depressed when I got home, but after talking about it was feeling better. But we hace a funeral today we hadn't planned so other chores will not get done.

Went with my wife to her doctors appointment Friday so I could talk to our doctor. I went in last week because of some upper chest pain but couldn't see him and got one of the other doctors. This doctor scheduled me for a stress test and halter monitor despite the ekg being good and my heart being strong. 4 years ago one of the other doctors there did the same tests and our regular doctor was ticked off about it because he didn't think it was needed. I asked him yesterday about it to make sure and he said it was a good idea to get it done. So I get to wear the stupid monitor for 5 days and sleep on my back. Ugh! While we were there we both got the flu shot and a sore arm. They don't do the Covid shot so we need to get it somewhere else.

I think the worst of it was before I got to Houston Methodist but the ambulance crew gave me oxygen through a nasal cannula.
Haven't done much in the way of filing yet. Been nodding off right now.

I was taken by Friendswood ambulance and brought back home in a wheelchair van. When I got home about 3:30 AM, it was drizzling. Got damp between the wheelchair van (which was parked as close as the driver could get, AJ had the Tundra pulled further down the driveway). Didn't seem to really be that wet.
Elections have consequences.

When I had the stress test, my cardiologist did it with medication instead of having me on a treadmill.
Haven't yet gotten my November 2024 shots (COVID-19, flu, and RSV). Probably will do it at HEB as my primary care doctor doesn't seem to get vaccines.

Hi Everyone, Got woken up to the smell of smoke. I have my bedroom window wide open (faces the woods). No houses as it is country-bumpkin land (meaning no one around - houses, apartments, etc). It is all woods. However, the smoke came through my CPAP machine. When getting up, the whole place smelt like smoke but did not see any flames or plumes of smoke. The smoke odor was terrible. Went out to the boardwalk and the smoke was coming from the weed bum. Bum had one of the front windows open and I could smell it really bad out there. How can it be front and back of the building? I hear foul language being used on the bums' phone. I called 911. I did not know what else to do. Bum drinks very heavily and smokes about the same. The fire truck pulls up to the front of the building. A fireman looks around and comes to my apartment. Gives the bum plenty of time to clean up the mess or small fire he might have caused. Then he walks over to the bum's apartment. Fireman comes out and states "nothing". A cop came to my door and he stated, "all is well. You should move." Imagine elderly/disabled housing and he tells me basically to go on to the street. I am doing just that. I have looked for duplex apartments (absolutely no apartment complexes - all smoke) and I found one nice reasonable one and the slumlord would not accept pets. I have had my parrot for 31 years. My parrot will be deceased when I go. I am not giving up my parrot.
Another day. Life really sucks.

Feeling pretty good today but somewhat tired.
Listened to Yacht Rock Radio on SiriusXM until a few minutes before five o'clock.
Cousin Martha called me on her cell phone this afternoon. They've had about 10" of rain up in Missouri and the landline was acting up.
Turned on the TV to see if anyone was going to have the news. Only local station with news was KPRC Channel 2 (NBC affiliate).
Decided while watching that I needed a comfort stop. Missed about ten minutes of the NBC Nightly News.
AJ bought me a gallon jug of sugar-free tea. Had three tumblers of sweet tea and not wanting to quench my thirst further.
After the news was over, I turned off the TV and asked the Amazon Alexa Echo Dot to play Classic Rewind (70's classic rock) on SiriusXM. Right now, they're playing a song that I'm not familiar with.
Neighbor across the street already has their holiday lights on and they have had them up for a while. The Houston Methodist ER also has their holiday lights up, they're strung along the counter where ambulance patients on gurneys make their first stop before going to a room.
Isaiah is cooking tonight. Chicken and rice marinated in Italian dressing. Wonder if it's going to be better than it usually is because I know that AJ didn't go buy HEB Italian dressing as I'm the one that shops HEB around here. If I had to guess, they went to Aldi. AJ just walked to the door of the business room and said it will be done about 7:30 PM.

Sneakers: Gee, Isaiah works for his money and he cooks too. He is great!!!!! There is a huge difference between Isaiah and his older brother, John. They are a huge contrast between day and night. Isaiah is daylight, of course.

Uncle: Bowling league teams kind of fell apart. Hopefully the beginning of the year will be better. Your curling went well and so did your blood donation. Nice to have off until Wednesday. Nice long weekend. Enjoy and get some rest.
