Good Morning, Sneakers. It looks like an acceptable day so far. Hope you can say the same. Sunrise was at 7:02 AM and sunset will be at 5:08 PM, still a lot to go before the equinox. Today's high will be 57°F, still comfortable and above average. Spent yesterday doing paper work, plus a grocery pick-up, a few errands, and a quick trip to Andover, OH for a fuel fill-up.
Hi, soutxed. You missed a day. Hope all is well. Walked another section of the trail Tuesday. It runs along a soy field, which is in full sunlight, and then, after a 90°turn it's completely straight and seems like a tunnel. It has hardwood forest on the left and Eastern Hemlock wetlands on the right, which is dark & wet even on the brightest days - almost spookily so. Good for a Halloween walk I suppose. There are still missing person signs for a local woman, who completely disappeared from a walk on the trail almost 2 years ago. If she got off the trail and into the swamp, she'll probably never be found.
Hi, Patty. I don't know why Massachusetts and the rest of New England is are so liberal. Maybe it has to do with the Catholic Irish and Italian immigrants from the last century, or the Ivy League Colleges in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Connecticut. I bet Boston politics had an effect on the whole area as well. Or I could be completely off track! It does seem odd that it has stayed the same for so long. Hope your Thursday is a keeper.

Sneakers--A toll road violation? How much did the fine come to? Sorry to hear you had another trip to a hospital, but at least you have a good hospital to take care of you. I hear more negativity about the two in Harlingen and recommendations to go to McAllen (30-mile trip) or Houston. I am with Patty, hoping you have a better year medically. I forgot you sold the Boeing stock.
Harris County Toll Road Authority charged me a total of $1.80, they are cheap if you go to their Website before you have to get invoiced.
Houston Methodist is a four-star hospital on the Medicare rating system of one to five stars. I think the main thing that happened to me Monday night was related to congestive heart failure. I'm getting to the point where my left foot is taken care of and that was the major visit driver since July 2023.
Sold the Boeing stock earlier in 2024.
Went to the bedroom at 6:30 PM last night. Called cousin Janet and brother Allen soon. Fell asleep fairly early, got up about two in the morning and took my bedtime pills. Did some bookkeeping and fell back asleep until around 7:30 AM.
AJ brought me my Charles Schwab debit card. It doesn't work well with two people draining a checking account. Things can bounce (they didn't this time) but at least my Schwab account just sends back overdrafts, they don't charge for an ACH overdraft.

Today is quite acceptable, I've been doing bookkeeping and watching TV. Stock market isn't roaring along like yesterday. I got up about two o'clock this morning after falling asleep early and I ventured into the business room wearing a yellow pocket T-shirt, a white Amazon Basics disposable diaper, and socks on my feet. Need to go into my bedroom and fetch my cell phone. Also left on the Amazon Alexa Echo Dot and the nightlight as I thought I was going to go back to bed but didn't. Will probably go to the bedroom during "Jeopardy!"
IIRC, today's high will be 85 degrees F. Sunrise here today was 6:40 AM and sunset is 5:30 PM.
Tomorrow is trash day and I will definitely have trash to take out. A 33-gallon bag from the business room and a tall kitchen bag full of used diapers from the bedroom.
Think I'm going to have fruit and cheese sandwiches for lunch today. I've consumed all the tea.

Yesterday, I stayed up most of the night and fell asleep in the task chair in the business room. AJ came in the business room a couple of times and found me asleep. I woke up after a while.
In the morning about 8:30 AM, I had a can of pineapple chunks because I didn't have much supper Tuesday night. Watched "Good Morning America" on ABC 13 and then CNBC.
About 10:30 AM, I cut off my hospital bracelets and unbandaged my IV holes.
Watched the lunchtime news from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Had lunch about 1:30 PM, canned peaches and Havarti and turkey sandwiches.
Mail came about 2:00 PM. Michelle got the four letters, all for me. Two pieces of junk mail (one wanting to buy my house and the other wanting to loan me money), a proxy form from the HOA annual meeting, and a program preference poll from the local public radio station.
Medicare Home Health nurse came about 2:15 PM, right as I was doing stock market transactions. We talked while I keyed in the transactions, he read my hospital notes from Houston Methodist. After I got done, we went in the dining room and he rebandaged my left foot. I told him the dressing on the foot wasn't his, it was from Houston Methodist. He commented the wound was kind of red and didn't look as good as it did Monday.
Went in bedroom, decided to get rid of the horrid Houston Methodist disposable diaper and put on an Amazon Basics disposable diaper. Had to open a new pack of twelve. I have had diapers from other places but none as good as the ones from Amazon Basics.
Watched the afternoon news on KPRC Channel 2 from 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM.
AJ had supper ready about 6:00 PM, baked chicken and boudin blanc by itself and put into a stuffed pepper.
Went to my bedroom after the news finished. Called cousin Janet and brother Allen. Had an iPad with me and fiddled with it until about eight o'clock, then I went to sleep. Woke up about 11:00 PM and 2:00 AM.
Went to the bathroom, then went in the kitchen and the business room. Ate a can of pineapple tidbits and then had my bedtime pills. Two of them need to be taken with food. I had drunk all the sugar-free tea, and I finished off the sweet tea. Did some bookkeeping and went to sleep in the task chair.
Woke up about eight o'clock and watched "Good Morning America" on ABC 13 and then CNBC.
At eleven o'clock, I switched to the ABC 13 lunchtime news.
At 11:30 AM, I'm going to go to my bedroom and get my cell phone and put on a pair of sweatpants. My legs are kind of cold and they stick to the task chair.
Just took my thyroid hormone. Can't eat lunch to almost noon. Will probably have lunch after the noon news finishes.
Plan to do some filing this afternoon. Think I need to go to HEB.

lorando: I would be careful walking on that trail. You maybe very familiar with it but you never know if someone maybe lurking around in there. Who knows what happened to that woman. Could have been suicide, murder, etc. You just don't know. We are older and not as strong as we once were. Be safe!
Sneakers: Do you use the CPAP machine? It does not sound like you do. It is up to you. Some people like it and some don't. My mother had congestive heart failure. She had periods of having a hard time breathing when walking, but she would just sit down for awhile and she would be OK. She had so many other health issues that this was a secondary issue.
Soutxed: Do you use a water chamber? If you do, then the water level cannot be over the "MAX" level line or else I was told it would not be good for the machine. It is extremely dry here amongst other things, and when I awake, the water level is almost at the very bottom. Yeah, I am at a dead end. I called a housing authority in another town that I had reapplied to. The same rude woman works there and stated that it would be years before I would hear anything. With the migrants that is fine. I have a major health issue and cannot even breath, at times go to the potty or even eat depending where the weed smoke is coming from. Four State days off starting at 5pm due to Veterans day on Monday. Parties will be ongoing all those 4 days from the bum next door. I called the director in this town who gave me a number for a place that is supposed to give legal advice. I told her I had called there several times over the years and there is no legal advice department there. I called again like a fool only to confirm that I was right and here she makes big bucks as a director and does not have a clue where to find help for people who have hit a brick wall. No legal dept there.
Uncle: Hope you are feeling OK!
Have a bright day!!!

My mask cushion fell off when I was in rehab and the clueless Hispanic housekeeping person threw it away. I would think it would look like something you would want to keep. I don't have enough money right now to buy another one and eat. Will buy one the day before Thanksgiving when I get my Social Security Retirement payment. So, I'm temporarily without CPAP at home but I had one when I was in Houston Methodist this week. I usually don't object to CPAP but one time I did when I ended out in the hospital the next day not feeling good. But that was back in September 1998.
I got my trash out. Isaiah was coming in both times and took the bags outside from the utility room. Tomorrow is trash day, I'll likely need to remind John to haul the bags to the curb. Isaiah started hiccuping right after the second bag of trash went out and that bothered his pneumothorax surgery hole.
I have a half-page list of things that are wrong with me. So I might be like your Mom.

Sneakers: In this dump, I would be lost without my CPAP machine. I will admit that insurance does not cover much for those supplies any more. Even MRIs' they have not paid for. I have to pay a hefty fee for each one I had. The insurance paid 0 but did approve of them prior to me having them done. I almost feel like it is a penalty to me for having the damn MRIs'. You might have a medical list like my mother had. It was always something with her.
