Sneakers ---- That is good to know about Isaiah. Hope he and you feel better.
I have a box of fairly large bandages (HEB store brand). Isaiah puts them over his surgery hole so it doesn’t get rubbed by his clothing.

Sneakers--Glad Isiah went to work and came home okay. Good luck with your doctor appointment today. I envy you can order from Amazon and get the product the next day or even that day. The fastest I get one is three days when it is one of their trucks.
Isaiah went to work and came home tired at fourv o‘clock. Went to see Dr. Clause this morning. He was a bit concerned about the toe that has an oozing sore place on it. He prescribed dressing changes by Medicare Home Health three times a week with a progress check November 11th. Amazon is very convenient. It and HEB are where I do the lion’s share of my shopping. I have ordered from them 23 times so far in 2024.

With my left knee problem, I wasn't sure how this morning's route would go. I managed okay and it felt much better towards the end of the morning. It's almost 100 percent now. soutxed, I got the tires switched at the dealership. They store tires there too now. If they didn't, I might have just stayed with the All-Season tires all year. Sorry to hear you had another breathing problem. Fingers crossed it's a one-off. The Texans are doing much better than the Cowboys. I see they play each other in November. Hope you can watch it. lorando (NW PA), first thing Monday morning, my knee felt the same as Sunday. So I wondered how I would get through the day and week. It seemed to get better as the morning when along. Whew! As I write this, not looking good for the Yanks. Home field didn't help, at least so far. Take care everyone.

Hi, Sneakers. Yeah, the fingers are starting to hit a few more correct keys, but I have to slow down and concentrate on getting that muscle memory retrained. No plans for today, except a walk on the local hiking trail. It's a beautiful, sunny morning in the low 50s, so I don't want to waste it. Leaves are past prime now. Hope your podiatrist appointment turns out well.Busy day today. Started out watching the FOX 26 morning news. Then got ready and went to Dr.Clause. He bandaged the oozing place on the toe that was next to the stump of the big toe. He prescribed Medicare Home Health to come three times a week for the next two weeks and to come back for a progress check the 11th of November. We didn’t have much in the way of food in the house so I said let’s grab some fast food on the way home. AJ wanted to try the new In-N-Out Burger next to the Webster HEB. AJ got a Double Double meal and a regular sweet tea. I got a cheeseburger meal and the largest Diet Coke they had. I was thirsty and finished off the Diet Coke by the time AJ drove home. I thought the food was high quality but undistinguished. AJ said he doesn’t want to go back. I had a definite smell of pee and AJ said I needed a shower before the home health nurse showed. So, I took a shower and got dressed. Had a little time before the nurse came. Main thing he did was rebandage my foot. He also inventoried my wound care supplies. Had a little while before the occupational therapist came. She said I was good and strong and she gave me some stretches to stay that way. AJ went and picked up Isaiah from Macy’s at four o‘clock. By that time, AJ figured HEB was a zoo and he went to Food Town to buy a few items. He planned to take me to HEB tomorrow morning to buy a mess of groceries. Dropped my cellphone the day Beryl came through and put a crack in the screen. It worked until today and there is now a big white blur on the right side of the screen. So, I ordered a replacement with my phone insurance. They expect me to receive the replacement phone tomorrow. About six o’clock I went and stretched out on my bed for about ninety minutes. Got up and ate pizza. It was frozen pizza after twenty minutes in a 400 degree oven. Been doing things on the iPad.

Good Morning, Sneakers. I don't think there are any In-n-Out Burgers in the area, at least none that I've seen. Our little town of 8,000 is being inundated with fast food places, with Chipotle, a second Starbucks, and a second Taco Bell, under construction. Jersey Mike's opened a few months ago, along with a rebuilt Burger King. A couple new retail stores are due to open soon, and three new car washes, only one of which has actually been built, and it's been sitting unfinished for months. They're all due to being on an Interstate exit. They're not the best tax ratables, and provide only minimum wage jobs, but that's better than nothing. Tomorrow is an ophthalmologist's appointment for me. I can tell it's time for a change.
Hello, Uncle. Today is tire switchover day. It's a bit ironic because we could have close to record breaking high temps for the rest of the week, with highs around 75°F. But nothing lasts forever (but the earth and sky). I think those were lyrics from a Kansas song years ago, right? Don't know how much music from the U.S. leaks over into Canada. Glad your knee improved as the day progressed yesterday. Whew, indeed! And you don't even know for sure what caused it. I'd vote for the delayed booster reaction theory. The Yankees are showcasing all their weaknesses at the wrong time, while the Dodgers are doing just the opposite. Well, that's baseball. Looks more and more like the brooms will be out tonight.
Hi, soutxed. Is your new street light electrified yet? That will probably increase the value of the houses in the neighborhood as well. The leaky water softener seems to be getting better. The puddle was about half it's original size on Sunday. Now on to the next crisis. One of the boilers isn't working. I'll be calling our heating contractor today to set up an appointment. Will the embarrassment end for the Yankees tonight? It kind of looks that way, but it would be nice to win one game at least. Hope you're feeling better.

Lorando--It used to be bad going to the Harlingen PO. When our son lived overseas, we had to get a form to attach to letters and packages. The local sub-station wouldn't do that and sent us to the main PO. Found a small one nearby where service was better. Wearing dress shoes after a week of tennis shoes can be a problem. Yankees almost pulled it off. A four-game sweep by the Dodgers?
Uncle--Wish we had an In and Out Burger. The last time we ate there was in 2019 when we were in California for a nieces wedding. Congrats on your safe driving award. Has to be difficult. Saw on the HEB page a truck driver retired earlier this year after 50 year, 2 million miles and no accident. He was rewarded with a new SUV. If I was working, I could probably get through a breathing incident since I am sitting the whole time. The last one lasted a few minutes, but I stopped eating the meal and we took it home. Finished most of it that night. Texan-Cowboy game November 18, a Monday night game so I should be able to watch it. Thought it would have been a great Thanksgiving Day game.
Sneakers--Amazon for you guys is more convenient. Looked back on my orders this year and none came the next day, even though a couple were promised then. Hope the oozing stops soon.
Went out to eat with two other couples to celebrate wife's birthday. Everything went well.
Got a call late last night that SIL is back in hospital. Her daughter came down yesterday to take care of her. SIL eats very littkle and daughter was trying to force her to eat and then take a shower. SIL got defensive and fell again. She has become incoherent. Doesn't look good, but she bounced back from her last fall. But caretaker sister needs to train the daughter on how to treat a patient like her mother. But we are avoiding any commitments right now.
Wednesday game is a night game. Since covid, we have had numerous games on Wednesday due to stadium shortage and hard to get officials.

In-N-Out Burger is on the West Coast and Texas. Haven’t had lunch yet but I bought $160 of groceries at HEB. AJ looked at all of it and said I shopped like I had weed munchies. Hopefully you will only need refraction at the opthamologist. No signs of cataracts or glaucoma.

Amazon is definitely more convenient with me requiring a walker to go shopping. At HEB this afternoon, there was a Partner taking a scooter back to the store. We rolled down the window on the Tundra and asked if I could hop on. So I rode the scooter into the store, did my shopping, and drove out to the Tundra. Plenty of battery power. There was no oozing when the Medicare Home Health nurse came yesterday. The wound has not yet oozed through the bandage. I will get to see the wound tomorrow when the Medicare Home Health nurse comes.

Lorando-- How did the ophthalmologist's appointment go, hopefully well. Yankees came back to life last night. Can they win 3 more games?
Sneakers--Lucky you to catch a partner taking the motor wheelchair and saved you a walk. When Caretaker sister was with us, we tried to get her to use one, but she keeps saying "I don't know how." Younger sister still in hospital but doing better. Maybe she can get a Medicare nurse to visit her when she goes home. But she seems to think she doesn't need one.
Haven't got the truck working and sharing a car has been a slight problem.
Feeling better yesterday. Worked a scrimmage last night which ended early when one of the girls from the visiting school crashed into the wall. Trainer worked with her for some time, but we were just 4 minutes from the end and refs decided to end the game. Another player earlier hit her head on the floor and went into concussion protocol. Both teams need some work by the time district play starts.
Everyone is quiet. Have a good day.

We got stopped behind a car wanting to back out but we didn’t get run over. Scooters are not that hard to learn but some people don’t want to learn anything. My experience with Medicare Home Health you have it when your doctor orders it. Just took my daily thyroid hormone.

Good Afternoon, Sneakers. I hope the Medicare Home Health Care nurse arrived on time and did her/his thing. Yesterday set a new high temperature record in Erie of I think 78°. We might do it again today.......and tomorrow, before the rain arrives. Still waiting for drivers license. The temporary paper one is good for a month, and the paperwork says it should be sent within 15 business days.
Howdy, soutxed. Yankees looked good last night, but odds are it's too little too late. But I hope they at least make it more interesting. Eye doc visit went well. A new, young doctor did a really thorough exam. I usually get the award for the most complicated lens of the day. Final verdict was just a bit stronger Rx prescription. The optician had to leave early for the day, so I'll go back tomorrow to order the new frames & lenses for the glasses and sunglasses. Insurance doesn't cover that but at least they usually last for 3-4 years. Sounds like volleyball is becoming a contact sport, at least with the walls and floors!

Tuesday morning, I went to bed just after midnight. Made a couple of comfort stops in the night but woke up about 7:30 AM and found I had leaked urine some.
Got into dry clothes and a fresh diaper. Went to business room and watched the FOX 26 morning news and CNBC.
AJ had stayed up late into Tuesday morning and got up about noon. We needed groceries and headed to HEB in Webster.
AJ drove through the parking lot looking for a scooter. We found one that a HEB Partner was returning to the store. We rolled down the passenger side window on the Tundra and asked the Partner if we could have the scooter. He let me on the scooter and I headed in the store.
Got a twenty ounce bottle of HEB Diet Dr B to drink while shopping.
Bought 54 items totaling $180 and change. I got enough frozen food to fill the freezer portion of the fridge. AJ said I had the munchies but I said we will eat and drink everything. I got the following: Two loaves of HEB Honey Butter Bread A load of HEB thin white sandwich bread A six-bar carton of HEB strawberry frozen fruit bars A twelve-bar carton of HEB ice cream crispy bars Four large single size Stouffer’s Meat Lover’s Lasagna Two Marie Callendar’s beef pot pies A Marie Callendar’s chicken pot pie A Marie Callendar’s cheesy Parmesan chicken pot pie A box of HEB Fruit and Grain cinnamon apple bars A box of HEB Fruit and Grain strawberry bars A box of HEB Fruit and Grain mixed berry bars Three Red Baron Classic Crust Four-Meal Frozen Pizzas A ten-slice tray of HEB Havarti cheese A ten-slice tray of HEB Gouda cheese A ten-slice tray of HEB Cheddar cheese A tub of HEB creamy macaroni salad Two seven-ounce tubs of HEB beef pastrami Two one-gallon jugs of Red Diamond sugar free tea A one-gallon jug of Red Diamond sweet tea A large jar of HEB classic coffee creamer A value pack of HEB chicken leg quarters An one-pound round of Oscar Mayer cotto salami A ten-slice tray of HEB Colby Jack cheese A one-gallon jug of HEB 2% milk A large tub of Folgers Black Silk ground coffee A ten-slice tray of HEB Provolone cheese A ten-slice tray of HEB Swiss cheese A twenty ounce bottle of HEB Diet Dr B A jar of Skippy Natural Super Chunk peanut butter A box of Shake and Bake Extra Crispy chicken coating mix Two cartons of Imperial vegetable oil spread sticks Two eleven-ounce cans of HEB mandarin oranges Six eight-ounce cans of HEB sliced peaches Two eight-ounce cans of Dole pineapple chunks in pineapple juice A 4# bag of HEB pure cane sugar Two eight-ounce cans of HEB fruit cocktail
Went out the door at HEB. AJ loaded the groceries in the Tundra and I loaded myself in the Tundra.
We then drove home. AJ, John, and Michelle unloaded the groceries and when they were done I wheeled myself in the house.
Had pineapple first, then salami and Gouda cheese sandwiches for a late lunch.
Snail mail came about two o’clock and I got a bag with four bottles of pills from my mail order pharmacy.
UPS came after three o’clock and brought me a replacement for my failed cell phone. It got the screen cracked July 8th, the day that Beryl barreled through Houston. It worked through Monday then developed a big white blob on the screen that made it unusable. Had to put the SIM in the new phone but AJ came to the rescue.and figured out how to install the SIM. I activated the phone and took it to the business room to finish setting it up. Called AJ to see if it worked. It did.
Just before seven o’clock, I called the family. Only talked to Cousin Janet in Missouri.
AJ made me a couple of grilled cheese sandwiches for supper and I took my evening pills.
Watched the nine o’clock CW 39 news and the ten o’clock KHOU Channel 11 news. Then watched the first thirty minutes of Jimmy Kimmel Live and went to bed.
Relaxed but didn’t fall asleep. Got up about one o’clock for a comfort stop and went to the business room. AJ was still up having supper.
Fell asleep in the business room task chair. Woke up around seven o’clock in the morning. Watched the KHOU Channel 11 morning news and CNBC.
AJ had made a frozen pizza. I had four slices of frozen pizza and a small can of fruit cocktail for lunch.
Watched CNBC in the afternoon. In the two o’clock hour, the postal LLV came through. John got the mail and I had Medicare Advantage advertisements from Humana, United Healthcare, and WellPoint. Haven’t shredded them yet but I will.
Medicare Home Health nurse came. He commented my toe looks better than it did Monday. Neither red nor oozing.
in the three o’clock hour, I switched to the KPRC Channel 2 news and FedEx brought a package from Lenovo. An AC adapter and the power cord for it. I have the ThinkPad charging from 18% to 44%. Can use it now. Wasn’t able to for eight days. Going to catch up there shortly. Michelle saw the driver and brought me the package.

Good Afternoon, Sneakers. I hope the Medicare Home Health Care nurse arrived on time and did her/his thing. Nurse said between 1:30 PM and 3:30 PM. He arrived about 2:45 PM and rebandaged my foot. The place on the toe that's next to the big toe looked better. Not as red and not oozing. The silver alginate dressing must be working. He will be back Friday.
Got AC adapter replacement for the ThinkPad. It started out charged at 18% and it's now at 94% which is all the higher it charges. The ThinkPad doesn't charge the battery to 100% because charging it to 94% lets it last longer. It must work because my 2017 battery still works well. Good thing that I bought a power cord as the one from the old AC adapter wouldn't fit. They changed it from a three-prong plug to a two-prong plug.
Taxable brokerage account down 0.30% today. It has not been a good time for Keurig Dr Pepper. It is down almost 15% since the time I bought it.

Good Morning, Sneakers. Glad your toe is looking better, your Think Pad is all charged up, and your freezer is well stocked. Life is good!! I didn't sleep much last night after watching the final game of the World Series. The Yankees were good enough to overcome their flaws during the regular season, but not against a well balanced team like the Dodgers. A tip of the cap to L.A.; then back to the drawing board for next year. Four more days of political mailings and ads; then another month of Medicare Advantage Plan ads! It will be good for the letter carrier's ego to have people happy to see the little white van coming to their neighborhood again soon.
Good Morning, soutxed. Today will be the third day in a row of record breaking highs, at least in Erie, where the regional records are on file. Looks like the 80s today before the rain starts, and then back to reality tomorrow. I didn't buy any candy for Halloween. I've never seen a trick or treater in the apartments, but I usually have some treats on hand just in case, and end up eating them. Eye doc appointment went well. The optician had to leave early yesterday, so I'll have to go back in to order the new glasses today or Monday. Hope your day is a good one.

Lorando--The Yankee's really blew it last night. Was working two games last night but keeping up with the score. Came home in time to see the end of the game and the celebration. One commentator this morning said the World Series was a team from California and a team from New York, same states the Presidential candidates come from. Is this a prediction of the election he asked. Still hot here.
Sneakers--You just bought a cart load of groceries, and you got more, but then with all the people in the household, I can see a lot of money going to HEB. Good for wife's retirement fund.
Got home from working the game and wife was upset. Seems her sister in the hospital turned down a blood transfusion because (1) neither she nor her daughter knew what it was (2) after the nurse explained it SIL she says she didn't want other's people's blood in her body and the daughter made the nurse leave. Then SIL called my wife wanting to talk to me about it, but I was at the game. Wife explained told her about other family members who had a transfusion with no problems. When wife was telling me this, I thought about Sneakers and Uncle who give blood and how the doners are screened and the blood is checked. Wife called her sister back and convinced her to go ahead and have the transfusion. We discussed how ignorant her sister is about medical issues and medical insurance.
Today we have Halloween party for senior citizens and then Tunk or Treat at church.
