Up at 7am, took a shower then off to my doctor's diagnostic center for a stress test with echo cardiogram and to be fitted with a holter monitor. Went in last week with some chest pains in my upper-left chest. Doc did an EKG and said it was normal but that there was a an irregularity that wasn't acute. My regular doctor agreed with the one I saw that I should get checked out.
Stress test was on a treadmill and he said that my target was 132 bpm. A different guy came in and did an echo before and after the stress test. It didn't take long at all for me to get to 132 bpm and by the time they sent me back to the bed for the 2nd echo and I was at 151 bpm. He did the 2nd echo and it felt like my heart was going to beat out of my chest.
With that done he fitted me with the holter monitor after shaving off my chest hairs in the application area. Thankfully they have gotten really small and I don't have many restrictions other than don't get it wet. The first time I had one of these was 30 years ago and it hung on my belt and had all these wires hooked to it.
Then they kicked me loose. On the way home I stopped at Costco and filled my car. Gas was $2.779 a gallon. Got home around 9:30am and made breakfast since I couldn't eat before the test and I was starving.
Haven’t done much else save for a lap and a half around the park path with my wife and the dog. I cut it short since I was getting warm and I'm not supposed to get sweaty in the first 24 hours this thing is on. I've watched quite a few highlights on YouTube on the TV (firestick) of the Lions victory over the Texans (sorry ya'll). That was the first thing I asked Google after my alarm went off because I went to bed early in the 3rd quarter because of my test and didn't know. That was quite a shock when it said that the Lions won.

Lest We Forget lorando (NW PA), yes, unless things change, I'm a one man bowling team. I actually got a win last week, which was unexpected. There might be a team that needs an extra player, but I'm okay with just me. Jimmy Kimmel does those on the street interviews now and then. Easy way to fill time. Yes, our next break will be Christmas. Five weeks of five days of school. Sure seems like a long stretch. I'd be nice to put a professional day in the beginning of December, but they don't ask me what I think. The Steelers are doing well, with either QB. How will their season end? Russell Wilson sure must be enjoying this season compared to his time in Denver. soutxed, time will tell if Trump is a mistake or not. What side of history will he be on? He's already got people to fill certain roles. That seems to be very quick. Are your breathing problems permanently under control? Sure would be nice. The Cowboys are looking at next season. But the Texans are making up for them. patty7841, sorry to hear about that bad neighbour. Having to move again really sucks. Bowling will be different this season for me. At least curling is the same. Take care everyone.

Lorando--When I was a child my dad opened and closed the church. After my sister and I left the house, mom and dad switched to another church which was across the street from a Catholic church. But their two morning masses were scdheuled so clsoe together that members coming to the second mass could not find parking in their lot so they would park in parents church. Dad took on the role of standing out there to keep them from parking there. Freezing temperatures coming, so I guess it is fall somewhere.
Sneakers--Glad your doctor's visit went well.
Ed--Sounds like you have some heath issues. I am still waiting for my stress test. There are two cardiologist offices here and both are booked solid. Hope all goes well. Saw the last quarter of Lions-Texans game and was not good for the Texans.
Patty--You may need to try more than one church. When there is no priest during the week, is there office staff? They would know more about helping you. At least that is the case here at most churches. You may need to call around. True some homeless shelters are not the best. But you need to get out of your place, even if it means living in your car. One of wife's cousins did that when they moved to Las Vegas some years ago. But they were not shy. They would drive around and find a house and ask the owners if they could shower there. Most allowed it. But this was about 20 years ago. Times are different.
Uncle--A one man bowling team sounds interesting. Glad blood donation went well. Trump had many of those choices already lined up. We watch Corbert and he does some of those street interviews. Wonder what happens when Trump takes office as he may try to find a way to get those comedians and Saturday Night Live off the air. He did day he will be a dictator on day 1. Wonder how he will get all those things done on day 1 plus the inauguration ceremony, and parade.
Wife's surgery went well, but we waited almost 90 minutes before seeing a nurse who did pre-op stuff and then waited another 20 minutes for the doctor. Glad there was a couple in the waiting area who kept us entertained if you know what I mean. Doctor's personality wasn't much, but she was good at what she did.
SIL was at the cancer center getting things done before her chemo today. Baby sister said she needed money to pay the bills. We said we could as I was supposed to get a deposit today, but with Veterans Day it is not there. But did get two football deposits so can help from that. With the changes in wife's retirement, we haven't been able to help and some family members don't understand what we went through. We still don't understand totally and hard to explain to those who have Social Security only or one retirement from their former employer. Still don't know why Medicare isn't paying more.
Got to go.

Sneakers--Glad your doctor's visit went well.
Get Medicare Home Health visits Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for the next two weeks to change the bandage on the rightmost remaining toe of my left foot.
Go back to see Dr. Clause the morning of the 25th.
Fortunately for Thanksgiving dinner, I get my Social Security Retirement payment Thanksgiving Eve. I've got about $40 until then.

Sneakers--Is the "Medicare nurse" employed by Medicare or a private firm paid for by Medicare? Trying to get a provider nurse for SIL but seems her insurance does not cover such or the rules in the RGV are different.
Spent morning trying to get money to take to cancer sister. The doctor says she owed $1000 in back payments. But I didn't get my deposit normally that comes on the 11th. Managed to put together something and was going to take it to youngest sister. But got a call from Ting there was a problem. Spent 30 minutes trying to find the problem and decided it was a false alarm. Then wife's sister in law called to ask her about a new medication and then talked about her problems. Wife couldn't cut her off. So we were late to doctor's office, but SIL was still getting chemo. We seem to be late to many things and some of it the untimely phone calls. Told wife to turn off her phone an hour before we are going somewhere. She also still gets 30-50 spam calls a day.
As we were leaving the doctor's office, four HPD cars came racing into the medical center area with lights flasing and sirens going. Then at a major intersection where we almost had an accident on the way to doctor, there was a major accident (2 police cars, wreckers, auto parts all over the street and a wrecker.) I am sure there were injuries. Told wife why we bother to take care of ourselves, we are all going to die in an auto accident. Traffic fatalities in the RGV are up, and more due to drunk drivers.
After all that we talked to an insurance company for SIL, but they had questions we couldn't answer. If previous experience occurs, she will be out of it for two or three days and may end up in the hospital.
Have a good day.

Trying to get a provider nurse for SIL but seems her insurance does not cover such or the rules in the RGV are different. The "Medicare Home Health" nurse is employed by a private firm paid for by Medicare. Comes three times a week and costs about $150 a visit. It was ordered by my podiatrist. I have Original Medicare and not Medicare Disadvantage. Told wife to turn off her phone an hour before we are going somewhere. She also still gets 30-50 spam calls a day. I hear of people getting 30-50 SPAM calls a day and wonder why they're such a SPAM magnet. I get 3-5 a day, and if I don't recognize who the call comes from I let them go to voicemail, Occasionally, I'll get a SPAMMER who leaves a voicemail, but usually not.

soutxed, I was finished bowling early last night, about 8:30, which is a bonus to a one person bowling team. Will it be like this until the season ends in April? Time will tell. All three games were around my average, two were slightly above. Let me know if Trump really does take care of the southern board situation. Politicians say a lot, but what do they actually do? Glad your wife is past her surgery. A doctor without much personality, better make up for it with their skills. Take care everyone.

Uncle: Sometimes docs have skills plus personality but there are few. I personally, would like someone who has a good skill set and if no personality, then at least don't be rude and abrupt. We know the whole world has changed, but it takes more to be rude than to be nice. I am packing and bringing things to the storage place. Going to stay off and on at a hotel. The stink in here today, smells like anesthesia-type weed. Variety is the spice of life. (:
Soutxed: You are under a lot of stress too. I am glad it was police cars and not poor innocent people who were in the accident. After last Saturday's big party here, pd are useless. They were laughing here like it was the biggest joke of 2024. I cannot stand them or this damn town. The pd did the same thing to a drug addict/drunk in another house apt I was in about 6 years ago. That was toward the end when I was going to leave anyway. Everyone left the 4 (1 bedroom) place except the drunk/drug addict and barroom bum. I called a priest today to find out if I would have his permission to put a sign on his bulletin board for a 1 bedroom house apartment. I would prefer a mother-in-law's suite and it has to be absolutely no smoking of tobacco or weed. He stated he would have no problem with it. He stated people have had luck with doing that there. Let's hope so. Have to write up the card today and get it over to the mailbox. I hope the damn mail lady does not take it out and dispose of it. Weird things happen around here.
Have a good day!
