Patty--The dentist and vet were on Tuesday and the mowing was on Wednesday. Got 3/10 of inch of rain only while a few miles away there was 1.5 inches of rain according to the web site Ed told us about. Implants are expensive even with dental insurance. Many go to Mexico to get them and all who have it done say the quality is good.
Sneakers--Glad you could see the Astros game in the hospital. They have good cable. Ours has spectrum and it doesn't Space City. A hospital in McAllen a friend was staying for a week had only two channels. One English and one Spanish. Took my tablet one night so we could watch a Vipers game. Glad you have power. I think our granddaughter there has power now. So does her workplace.
Ed--Glad you got the work done before the heavy rain. How many inches? I guess no tornadoes.
Uncle--Guess the Astros has a good crowd both days. For some it may be the only way to stay cool. There is a furniture store owner who is known to open his store during disasters for people to stay. I am guessing he did it again this time. The young lady who hit the grand slam is still getting praise. She appeared on one of the morning news shows. One friend commented the last time a valley HS athletic appeared on one of those shows was the person who punched an official at a football game. Sadly, he only got probation for that incident.
After cutting the grass, went to Home Depot to get string the weed eater. Seems to go through it faster than before.
Talked to a neighbor about her mom. Mom doing okay considering her age. Otherwise spent the day online and throwing away old papers.

Had breakfast, went to the bathroom via walker, got cleaned up. Now sitting up in a recliner watching TV. Houston Methodist is the better area hospital but they don't have CNBC on the TV. Good Methodists must not be interested in business news.

Hello, All. Just stopped in to say hi. I'm still looking back and reading all the posts I've missed since the last time I wrote.
Sneakers, looks like your current stay at Houston Methodist is a bump in the road for you, but I'm happy to see that things seem to be going in the right direction generally. The Greater Houston area has been on the front page for what seems like a long time. Hope the water recedes and the power is restored to the whole city soon.
Uncle, another school year in the book for you! Congratulations! Hope your current dental work goes smoothly, so you can get on with your visit to Ontario and enjoy yourself without worrying about anything.
Patty, you seem to be doing well in your semi-retirement. Hope you get a chance to connect with your sister when she's in the area. It must be longer than 10 years since my brother & I have gotten together.
soutxed, I'm so sorry to read about the loss of your son. Hope you, your wife, and the rest of the family are progressing toward finding peace.

Ate lunch still feel good. Saw cardiologist he thinks I had too much blood pressure medicine aboard. He is going to get me to take it frequently at home. Got a HEB blood pressure machine I have had a while.

I'm home! Kind of sore but I was able to get in the house with a walker. Got three prescriptions to get at HEB. AJ wants me to take a shower to get all the hospital off of me. On the other hand, I got wiped down with disinfectant wipes there.

Sneakers: I am happy that you are home. It is wonderful that you went to a great medical facility. You got in and out in 2 days (I think). So good to hear. No one wants to be in ICU. Feel better and get all the rest you need.
Soutxed: I did not know, which days you did what. It looked like you did all 3 tasks in one day. I spoke to someone at the periodontal office that I went to. She stated that people who go to places like Aspen Dental (chain dental places) get implants there and then they have to get them re-done. She stated they were not done properly and/or the material was cheap for the implants and did not last. Nothing like having to pay twice for the same procedure. Some of them have come to the office that she works at for a total redo. No thanks!!!
lorando: It is so nice to see you posting. I did not know if you were going to come back to posting on here or anywhere on GBO. You sound well and hope the time, in which you did not post, you were healthy and safe. I cannot wait to see my sister in August. It will just be for a few hours (one day only). She wants to visit Cape Cod and a few other places. I have a lot going on so I would not be going anywhere with her other than dinner. She wants to bring her little dog with her everywhere. I told her that there are a lot of restaurants that have outdoor dining. That would be perfect for me so I will not have to wear a mask. A lot of Covid here. You should visit your brother, or vice versa, as life is so short.
Have a nice Friday, Everyone!!!

Houston Methodist is the best hospital in the Clear Lake area. I went in Monday evening about dark and got home today about four o'clock. I didn't find the ICU to be that much different from the main hospital area except I could get my cell phone recharged in the main hospital area. AJ didn't bring me my iPad because he has been busier than a one-armed paper hanger between Beryl cleanup, Isaiah being unwell (he has bad teeth), and me being unwell.
Got a phone call from Krista. She asked if we had electricity. She is going to come rebandage me tomorrow morning.

Got my latest crown put in today. They had to trim a small portion of it. They kept referring to a corner that was sticking up. After they did that, I felt better about it. The temporary that was in there for two weeks, felt really good. No problem with that one. soutxed, if the Astros had good attendance, I guess no one had a problem getting there. Also, too bad they didn't play the Marlins more often. The young female baseball player was on a morning news show? That tells you how big a deal that was. lorando (NW PA), wholly smokes, you've returned. I wondered if we would see you posts again. Yes, my ninth year of school busing is complete. They start re-hiring us August 19th. sneakers (Metro Houston), nice to hear you've made it home. Fingers crossed you get a good night's sleep. Take care everyone.

Plan to take a shower tomorrow morning before home health nurse Krista comes.

Last night, I watched the Astros game. The Astros won 6-3 over the Miami Marlins.
Supper last night was biscuits and spaghetti/meat sauce.
Joined the CW 39 nine o'clock news in progress. Went to bed about 10:30 PM.
Had alarm set to 8:30 so I could get up for a 9:30 nurse appointment. Really sleepy, alarm woke me up and I just laid there and went back to sleep.
Got up a bit before ten o'clock. Was in bathroom when my nurse came a bit late. She apologized for being late, I said that I just woke up.
She got a blood pressure in the 115/65 range. My cardiologist is cutting back on my blood pressure medicine.
Took my thyroid hormone and my ranolazine, which is a new medication they added. It is not as cheap as some of mine, $21.78 for 60 tabs.
Michelle is going to make me a late breakfast. Hopefully not eggs unless she wants to do an omelet.
We've got thunder outside.

Ed--Glad you got the work done before the heavy rain. How many inches? I guess no tornadoes. 2.5 inches. A pittance compared to what Sneakerville got.

Hi, Uncle. Yeah, I guess I'm like the proverbial bad penny that keeps showing up. I get what you went through with your new crown. I finished my two implants in January, but the bite was a bit off. I went in for my 6-month cleaning and checkup on Tuesday and had him grind a bit off a couple high spots. Now it's much better. Funny how just a mm or so can throw things out of kilter. Do you have to actually re-apply every year to drive, or is it just assumed you'll be back? (especially after 9 years)
Hello, Sneakers. Beryl brought us a few leftovers on Wednesday. I came out of a store and about 50 feet from the car the skies opened up and the tornado sirens started blaring. Several tornados around but none all that close. Skies were blue again 15 minutes later.
Hi, Patty. I can't argue with that--life is so short! If I was in your area, I'd want to go to Cape Cod too. I've only been there once, but it left a lasting impression. Maybe Salem too, since my ancestors settled there. But it sounds like it might be overly commercial with all the Witch Trial hoopla. It sounds like a restaurant with outdoor dining would be just what you need. Here's hoping for good company, good weather, and good food!
