Ed: Do you state that Medicare is eliminating primary care docs for next year? So much will be disappearing next year, the following year, etc. Used too much jargon. "Pdoc" is short for "psychiatrist" not "primary care." Both of them are covered by Medicare in 2024 and there is no indication they won't be in 2025.Sneakers: You should elevate your left leg if it is swollen. I hope your toe is not infected. Good luck with that. I frequently prop it up on the paper shredder. The ER doctor that saw me last Monday figured out it was infected and prescribed a ten-day course of doxycycline hyclate, an antibiotic. I just checked my temperature and it was slightly elevated (99.4) but low enough to give blood products if I didn't have a number of other problems. I have medical attention scheduled Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. When I said that, AJ said "Monday? Why didn't you tell me? I'm taking Isaiah to get his non-driver ID card tomorrow morning." I said "Home health nurse." I was having foot difficulties earlier today and Michelle rebandaged it for me. She did four applications of hydrogen peroxide to clean the wound.
That is too bad that Michelle does not have a license. Gee, no one in the household has a license but AJ and you (and you cannot drive anymore). It is tough on AJ. AJ sits out in the Tundra and smokes and plays games on his cell phone while I'm at the doctor. He thought I was a terrible driver when I was able to drive. I've taken my bedtime pills but will skip writing up today to tomorrow.

Sneakers--That was a scare as there are stories going around Project 2025 want to reduce or end Medicare and Medicaid. Hope your medical visits go well and you get in and out in a timely manner. Our mailbox is next the driveway, but the carrier gets to the mailbox before the driveway. A few weeks ago, he/she stopped at the end of the cul de sac for about ten minutes, but I think it was a lunch break. Often the neighbor two doors down talks to the carrier, sometimes it appears they are arguing over something.
Lorando--I don't mail that much anymore, and 100 stamps would probably be a lifetime investment. Hope that couple didn't give you Covid. Wife said a lady came and sat next to her where they were touching each other. She didn't have much room to move over. At least the lady wasn't coughing. The 5-inch rain was limited to San Perlita but I think our drought situation has improved. Not much of the rain has fallen over the watershed and Mexico hasn't indicated they will release their share that is obligated by treaty. Our governor and neither Presidential candidate has said they will do anything about it. Some cities along the coast are considering building a facility that will turn salt water into fresh water. The closest Aquarium here is in Corpus Christi. As many times as we have been there, we haven't made it there in many years. Once before Covid, we went but it was closed due to a power outage.
Uncle--Our cat use to sleep in bed, but he is so big and fear we might role over in him and get bit. I just realized you left Toronto before the Rangers arrived. Both Texas teams lost yesterday. More concern that the Cowboys have too many injuries and the tough practices haven't started.
Patty--Most of our sent mail are greeting cards (birthday, anniversary, get well and lately sympathy cards. Wife is into greeting cards. Found out the DIL already went to Ecuador with the youngest child. Not sure when they will get the death certificates.
Not much of a day. Church went well. Went to eat lunch and came home because a SIL and her daughter were suppose to come to the house. Never showed and then got a call about 8PM that SIL wasn't feeling well so when they completed their errands they went back to SP.
Watched a lot of the Olympics.

You can go to the Project 2025 Website and find they don't want to reduce Medicare. The scare stories for Project 2025 come from the Left, who want to hold onto power by any means possible. They have some changes in Medicaid, largely defunding abortion providers. Which makes the Left want to go postal.
I was in the dining room last night talking to AJ and I said I had medical appointments Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. He said, "You have one Monday? I'm taking Isaiah to get his non-driver ID card." I then said it it was the home health nurse. She will be by in the eleven o'clock hour. She was planned to be here at 9:30 but I got a text that she was running late because she had a client that was in worse shape than they thought.

No, telemedicine. Sorry I should have been clearer.

Today things went from bad to worse.
Had home health nurse come by at about 11:00 AM and said my doctor should see it ASAP.
Went to doctor, at 2:30 PM. took about two hours for them to work me in.Doctor said to go to hospital ASAP. They had me in a room a couple of hours later Now watching the Astros game which is what I would be watching at home.
They discussed setting me up with a condom catheter. I am OK with it. They are noninvasive unlike a Foley. I have had them before.

The patient care technician installed the condom catheter and I have already used it twice. Now listening to the ten o’clock news on ABC 13. Haven’t gotten any pills yet but the nurse has been talking about them.

No, telemedicine. Sorry I should have been clearer. Telemedicine will still be available for pdoc visits.

Good Morning, soutxed. Nine days since possible exposure, so I think all is well. I offered to deliver a grocery order to the Covid couple if they were too sick to get out -- speaking of which I have my own pick up order at 8AM this morning. Looks like a rainy day here today so I'll see how the wax and Rain-X bead up. Also have an oil change appointment at the dealership at 10AM.
Morning, Sneakers. Glad your home health care nurse recognized the need for immediate attention. Hope you're resting comfortably. Since you're a captive audience, are you watching the Olympics? I thought I'd be more interested than I actually am. I watched part of the men's basketball game on Sunday, but pros making millions doesn't connect with my idea of the Olympics. Same with tennis.
Hi, Uncle. Boy, is your cat going to be mad at you! But I'm sure you'll make up for being AWOL with some special attention when you return from the reunion. Hope you have a great trip.

Lorando--I enjoy watching some of the events in the Olympics. The highly paid pros don't bother me since Russia paid theirs for many years.
Ed--So telemedicine will still be covered. There are so many falsehoods from both sides.
Sneakers--Does Isiah have an appointment to get the ID. I guess it is still done at the DPS and here they require an appointment for license renewals. Hope they accept his birth certificate.
Made it to the gym. Didn't see anyone except staff I knew.
Got an insurance payment finally. Can pay a couple of bills before my payday tomorrow.
ME finally released the death ce3rtificates. Funeral home sending them to widow, but she is in Ecuador. Hopefully one of the grandchildren will open them and share cause of death.
Waiting for the window installer to come today. Not sure of what time.

Spent a good night sleeping, had a CPAP machine in the hospital. Also have a condom catheter so all I have to do is relax to pee. Not sure whether they will assist me to the toilet to poop or they will offer me a bedpan. They did one of each three weeks ago. For about twenty minutes in the ER lobby last night I got to see beach volleyball. My late mother observed they didn’t wear much. Had breakfast and consumed everything but the garnish and the coffee. The captive audience is listening to the Alexa in the room. Classic rock from iHeart Radio. “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” from The Rolling Stones.

The official Medicare and You book details where it will be covered. The thing that I liked was they will cover it for psychiatric care. One time I even did it when I was in the hospital for something else Isaiah had an appointment Monday morning. Turns out where he had problems was proving Texas residency. He had an appointment for me to vouch in person and sign an affidavit of his residency Monday afternoon at 3:45 PM but that went down the tubes because I was at the podiatrist office then. Now he has to wait for me to get healthy enough. That may take a while. If I need rehabilitation after the hospital, I am going to ask to go back to Ignite because it was head and shoulders above the other facilities where I had rehab.

I don't get why they should care if we go see the Doc in person or Teledoc. It should be up to the doctor if they need you in person or not.

patty7841, the aquarium was a treat. Only bad thing was we lost track of my niece's son, who is 4 years old. He ended up wondering off and it was crowded too. We found him in about a minute. This weekend's family reunion, is a somewhat quick turnaround from my visit with my family. I'll have most of August to recover. soutxed, I have no fear of rolling on to my cat in bed. It seems to work out okay. The Rangers-Jays series started the day I was leaving. Sorry Texas didn't win any of the games. The Jays might be done getting rid of players. Getting young players in return, so there's always next year. The Astros still have 3 games against the Mariners. That's the second last series of the season. Could be real interesting by then. The Cowboys have too many injuries already? Not good with a 17 game season. Like Patty, I'm also happy to hear your son's death certificate is on its way. Better late than never. lorando (NW PA), my cat will be wondering what I'm up to once I get back from the reunion. At least it isn't very close to when I head back to work. The Yankees seem to be winning lately. I'm sure you're pleased about that. Take care everyone.

Got a surgery scheduled for tomorrow afternoon. Get to eat breakfast but have to skip lunch. Dr. Clause will evaluate the big toe and if is too ravaged he will amputate it. I have been asked about rehabilitation. I said that if I need it I want to go to Ignite as it’s head and shoulders above the other places I have gone before for rehabilitation.

So sorry to hear that Sneakers. It's been a long journey and it would suck to lose it after all that.
