Exactly that g e e z e r, teacher would have navy beans on cooking for the hot part of lunch. I usually had bacon and a biscuit that type of thing. That was when we were doing well then there was the winter on a different place where we lived on Frozen turnips we dug out of the ground of a neighbor's just before we decided to come back to California. I say we, my brother made the decision he was broke

A one room schoolhouse, Tru? My father went to a one room schoolhouse near his house and right next to a slaughterhouse.

With the thrift stores not being open In my opinion that things get piled up At least at my house . They are too good to throw away But of no use to me . So I just hang on to him and I got like I say piles of stuff around I need to get rid of

Tru, do you know if any of your local thrift stores might have an outside drop-off? My neighbor told me that the one nearest to us does, but I haven't gotten there yet to drop anything off.

We've been cleaning out a lot lately. The Salvation Army is open again and they've been getting a lot of good stuff from us. The bonus for us is a lot more room in the closets and basement. Hopefully there will be happy people on the other end, too.

Has anyone noticed how long the commercials have gotten on TV? It used to be about 3 minutes.I used to be able to run in real quick and grab something from the kitchen and be back just as they were starting, now I can go to the bathroom ,then to the kitchen. I can go fix a sandwich and still get back in plenty of time. averages 5 minutes and that is every few minutes. It used to be like that at night but now it's day time and all the time.
I have good sheets, and new slippers I don't like, I might as well give them my formal gown I never wear it. I wore it once to have my picture made on a cruise that was it.

Thrift stores in L.A. County have been open for months. The Goodwill near me is doing very well. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing.

At random, at various times, the memory of seeing the Dodgers win the World Series comes back to me and I breakout into a wide smile.

Geezer, have you heard anything from Tru? She hasn't posted in Life is Sweet for several days and we're concerned. Do you have her phone number? I'm kicking myself for not asking her for it. I have her email address and just wrote to her, but if she can't do the forums, she probably can't do that either.
I hope you're well and safe.

I haven't heard from Tru, Goldie. She and I communicate solely via this site. I don't know her email address or phone number. She's probably on a wineries tour, or maybe her internet access has been knocked out by the team of "experts" updating her apartment. Fingers crossed.

Geezer, thanks for responding. I heard back from her and she posted in Life is Sweet. She was too depressed to post because they tore up her kitchen to replace the water damaged items, but never came back to replace them and put things back in working order again.

Winery tour indeed. I came here because I was wondering why little boys get the pretty long eyelashes and little girls do not.

LOL!
I'd move there for winery tours! But probably not now, with the potential for so many fires in the area. I'd like to visit the wineries, though. What a lovely thought!
