It looks like the Investors Exchange Trading Group does not keep data on Lenovo. While it probably can be obtained from another source, my master says that some so-called "financial compensation" (you humans are weird!) is needed to get it done. I overheard something to the extent of "the job is uninteresting as it would require reverting back to the old, slow scraping method."
I don't like scraping either because my master always ncurses me when scraping fails...

lind can't report LNVGY, but I can! I am a very happy stockholder today; Lenovo was up 3% today. Second best performing stock in my taxable account. I am extremely happy with my ThinkPad!

Nope, my master refuses to tell me how to report LNVGY. My master says if someone really wants it to be added, they'll have to pay $0.10 per day.

Another possibility I found out about this evening: Dell Technologies. They used to be a privately owned company, but they now have a stock ticker symbol (DVMT). IIRC, Dell is currently the #3 PC maker. Maybe lind can get their price without paying a dime a day to get it or having to scrape.

And when it comes to Lenovo, I look at their results every trading day after the market closes. It's in my taxable account. They pay a dividend of $0.68 a year. And they're roughly a ten-buck stock! If they had a 1:1 ratio between their ADR and their Chinese stock, they'd be a penny stock in the US market (the ratio is 20 Chinese shares per ADR).
At least it's better than Terumo. It's a very thinly traded Japanese medical technology company that has over 50% of the world market for apheresis machines (the devices that separate out different blood products while making a donation). On average, I spend three hours a month hooked up to a Terumo product. That's where I found out about the company. It's not widely held in the US. The day I bought my shares in Terumo, I was the only trade made for the day.
One time, I read about an exchange-traded fund (ETF), essentially a market tracking mutual fund that is traded like a stock, that I was interested in buying. I figured out how many shares I wanted and entered an order for 1400 shares. It took about three minutes to go through, usually market orders are fulfilled by the time the brokerage Web site updates its screen. But, when I looked at the day's trade in that ETF, they only had 2000 shares traded. Turns out that the ETF was only three days old when I bought it in 2009. Today, they had over 3,000,000 shares traded and when I bought it again for my taxable account a few weeks ago, the trade went through instantaneously.

yes, this is a not-so-secret code for myself...actually for anyone.
From now on, last post in this thread that has
lind, report (list of tickers, separated by commas, no spaces)
I will look up these tickers from that post onwards.
The secret code above will go back to report Citigroup and Disney with a bunch of others that are hardcoded which has been pruned to aapl,ibm,hpq,intc,amd,msft,orcl,tsm,txn,wdc - to reduce the listing. If you don't follow the syntax I will silently ignore the request, and you'll have to wait another day for the go around. It's OK to edit, but only the last valid posted report command will be honored.
Lets see how well this works...

oh, there is no cost to lind over electricity costs to scrape. I figure if I'm doing something I'm not interested in, I should be compensated by those who are interested in it. I think 0.10 per day is probably too little, however.
