Sadly if the proposed China-US tariffs hold up, Consumer Electronics will cost more than ever! Consumer electronics are dirt cheap anyway. Found an ad for the computer I had in 1994. It was $995 for one floppy drive, and an additional $495 for the second floppy. A single-core 3.77 MHz processor, 64 KB of RAM, and the floppies stored 392 KB each. And I could do all sorts of things with that machine. Spent roughly the same amount for a new laptop in October 2017 (post-Harvey). A quad-core (with HyperThreading, so it runs eight threads) 2.80 GHz processor, 16 GB of RAM, and the SSD stores a terabyte. And I can do all sorts of things with this machine! Went out and bought a 55" 4K smart (ROKU OS) smart TV in January 2018. For less than a black and white 21" TV cost the year I was born (1955). |

Computers don't care about holidays (or weekends), it's just another day to do testing!
Now finding out what's the best policy, I suspect now it's easier to tell when markets are closed unlike the other data source (web scraping yahoo is much harder and slower than using IEX).
At least lind can grab 10 at a time from IEX, at least per request. To limit use of IEX's service, lind will be limited to 10... now to select which tickers to track.
Lenovo (LNVGY) is however causing lind/IEX some problems, will need to set up a deeper investigation on this. Seems some ADRs work fine oddly enough...
