Boards and planks are easier to carry up a ladder, or pull up with a rope, especially on a windy day.

Just ordered some brake parts and exhaust parts from rockauto.
Low quality parts would have been over $500 at local brick and mortar stores and several parts weren't in stock.
I bought higher quality parts for around $230 total with shipping.
Over the last few months some auto parts prices at brick and mortar stores have skyrocketed.

Got on amazon.com after reading the advice of Consumer Reports. Bought a Winegard FlatWave FL5500A over-the-air antenna, which was highly rated in their testing. It's going in the business room as a backup antenna for a TCL ROKU TV (which will receive over-the-air TV, but it's mostly intended for streaming). My main source of TV is Comcast's streaming service, Xfinity Instant TV.

HEB (Friendswood, TX): Four 50W GU-10 base bulbs (an integral reflector for the end the light comes out of, a ceramic base, and two bayonet pins on the bottom). They came in a package of two for $4.77 (plus sales tax). The ceiling fixture on the east end of my kitchen uses them. The one in the west end uses the usual Edison screw connector that was standardized in 1909.

Friday through Sunday is Texas Sales Tax Holiday weekend for clothing, footwear, and school supplies. I took advantage of it online, thereby avoiding bricks, mortar, mall crowds, mall traffic, an 8.25% sales tax, and a 70% chance of rain. Bought from three online stores, all of which have a presence in Texas and normally collect sales tax:
destinationxl.com - Two charcoal gray University of Missouri fan T-shirts, two plain blue pocket T-shirts.
hanes.com - A pack of a dozen white ankle socks (almost no-shows with most of my pairs of beloved hightops).
nike.com - A pair of black, gold, and white Nike Vandal Supreme hightops.

Being a part-owner of the Green Bay Packers (there are roughly 360,000 of us; the only NFL franchise that has more than 32 owners), I'm on their mailing list. Bought a pair of Packers green and gold Nike cross-training shoes. Not something that I'll wear every day. My housemate thinks I buy sneakers, wear them once, and never wear them again. I don't think he's looked at the "What did you wear today?" thread on GBO. I've been linking pictures since the middle of April. My Green Bay Packers stock certificate was wiped out last year in Hurricane Harvey. I got it reissued early this year. Now, this time it's in a safe deposit box that's on considerably higher ground, not affected by last year's 800-year flooding.

Liked the Nike shorts so much that I bought two more just like them.

Some 1 pint paint samples from the paint store. To doll up the exterior of my historic house with a new color scheme.
Got the siding and window sash color spot on with the first attempt.
No luck with the trim paint though. Looks good on the computer, on the phone, on the app, on the paint chips, and in the store. But I'm not happy when I put a test coat on the actual trim. The least satisfying were the ones suggested by the in-store color expert. Happens all the time. Experts are almost always wrong.
I'm going by my own taste and knowledge from now on.

Got an E-mail that the slow sellers at tretorn.com were marked down 75% this weekend. Being a sneaker freak, I couldn't resist! Snarfed up a pair of Tretorn Nylite hightops in dark blue for $35. Half of what I paid for a black pair of classic lowtop Tretorn Nylite sneakers a few months ago...

Got an E-mail from Reebok that they had reissued the 1986-era Reebok BB5600 basketball shoe. Ordered, from reebok.com, a pair of white ones with blue trim. I really wish they would have reissued the BB4600's. I had several pairs of them before Harvey came to visit a bit more than a year ago.
