Ah. I had rated three stations on Monday but then decided to slack off for a bit. When I saw the message I thought it was because I didn't post a rating yesterday or today. I guess we will see what develops. I will be rating one of my usual stations tomorrow for the usual daily challenge.

Looks like when GasBuddy decided on this ongoing challenge didn't realize the consequences.

So the real April Fuels was GasBuddy teasing us with thousands of points on the Royal Reviewer challenge and then yanking the rug right out from under us within 3 days!

So the real April Fuels was GasBuddy teasing us with thousands of points on the Royal Reviewer challenge and then yanking the rug right out from under us within 3 days! But in all actuality they have shown us that they are the real fools. Putting a challenge out there that requires that many reviews shows they are way more concerned about quantity than they are about quality. And then taking it away from us just teaches us to be faster and less accurate in the future.

I am a member of a GB Beta Forum moderated by GB staff and had asked why the Royal Reviewer was considered an "Ongoing" Challenge? The Grand Price Master was available until you completed it. The Royal Reviewer is listed as an ongoing challenge, yet it says I "ran out of time".
The response by GB staff was: "Hello, Thank you for reaching out to us, and sorry for any confusion.
We have made the decision to remove the royal review challenge. Over the first couple of days of the challenge, we saw an increase in reviews, but the quality of some reviews decreased. Since the goal of reviews is to provide users with honest assessments of a fuel station and give insight on where to spend your money, we felt it was necessary to make a change."
P.S. The forum is no longer very active, was by invitation only, and to my knowledge, is not accepting new members.

Does this mean GB has suddenly become concerned about something other than total clicks for advertising sales?

Does this mean GB has suddenly become concerned about something other than total clicks for advertising sales? Having spent some time looking at the makeup of their team, they're trying to position themselves, among other things, as an advisor regarding all things related to convenience store operations. They've put out several blog items recently addressing the subject addressed to station owners. I believe the Pilot Family challenges are basically a bill of goods they sold to the company. Ditto Gulf. There were others, such as Bellstores in my area, but I'd bet their management didn't see the value of the reviews they received for whatever GB charged. Their response was hilarious. They could have simply said, "Sorry, we pulled it when we realized we didn't know what we were doing." Because that's exactly what they did.

Is it just me or did we go a whole month with no Gulf, Shell or Wawa challenge?

We had pilot a couple of weeks ago.
But you have to remember that GB is still owned by the c-store association.

I think the did them early in April, & they may do them late in May, so it could seem like almost 2 months.....
But you never know with the GB mismanagement, the only thing they are constant on is screwing things up!
