Ahh....getting extra points that are basically meaningless. Funny~ Yet, I note that you click for max points on most days? If points are meaningless to you, why do you get them? After all, you brought up the point that points are meaningless - yet you still get them. Just asking for a friend!  |

I'm here to help by posting up-to-date gas prices. The points are a byproduct of that. And I don't get the max everyday. There are days I miss a challenge. And ya know what, it's no big deal!

There was a Special Challenge available today - it appears the Special Challenge was available to everyone as I see GB's all over the US and Canada claimed the extra 1,000 points earned from the challenge, including those who claim points are useless (I wonder why they click??)!   |

--- -- There was TWO (2) Special Challenges shown on the Gas Buddy app today (July 1, 2023). One Special Challenge (for 500 points) may not be available to everyone - I see that some Canadians were able to get the 500 points (those seem to be the folks who are able to get any Special Challenge) while others did not yet get the 500 points from the points review I did of a few US and Canadian users.  --- -- In addition to the above challenge, there was ANOTHER Special Challenge for 1,000 points - for the Month of July and reporting (1) REGULAR Fuel Price, at least 1x a day, for 13 of the 31 days in July. I'm more hopeful this Special Challenge is available to EVERY Gas Buddy as there is nothing regional about this type of challenge. ![1000 Point July Challenge - Report 1 Regular Gas Price on at least 13 days in the month of July]()  |

Special Challenge today in the GB App - 1,000 points. Valero - 100 days of summer are here Looks like it's available in the US & maybe Canada (as Valero operates in Canada - maybe refineries only??) A few Canadian GB's were showing as earning obtaining the 1,000 point Special Challenge today.  |

Another 500 point Special Challenge on 7/13/2023. Looks like lots of GB's took advantage of this survey link about Pepsi Products.  Should I even post these Special Challenge Posts here...or start up another new Special Challenge Thread in the Gas Buddy forum pages? Seems this entire thread should be over there vs. here in Misc. |

7/17/2023 - Special Challenge for 1,000 points available for joining Flying J or Pilot's myRewards Plus in the GasBuddy app to save .10 cents per gallon. (note, you don't have to actually join - just click the button and Special Challenge Points will post).  This Special Challenge looks like it was avail to US GB's and those Canadian GB's who know how to make US based Challenges work for them. This will probably be a Canadian only challenge later this week or next (seems to be a pattern with GB lately). Data Point - IRT the myRewards Plus - I tried to tie my Flying J account (that I've had for years) to the GB app about a year ago, and it jacked up my Flying J Pilot discount. I worked with both GB and Pilot/Flying J and in the end, Pilot recommended I get a new myRewards account. I also have my Shell account tied to the GB app - and so far, that has not affected my Shell/Fuel Rewards account. My GB app shows me Shell station prices with my discount price automatically applied. |
