Special Challenges

I checked it again and each part is for 1,000 points for a 3,000 point total when finished.

So, there's a "Special Challenge" today...

Download a Little appiness (Valero). for +1,000

Note: Most are able to click on this special challenge for 3,000 points BUT DON'T DO IT!!!

I've noted when this challenge comes around, "certain GB's" will only click on it twice and then it's still available to them the next day, and the day after, and the day after... So, if you want to try this out, only click and twice and then it should be available to you on Wed as well.

There's at least three here (GBO members) who do this...maybe they'll chime in on how it works or how they work it??

GB#1, from one of my threads on the GasBuddy board, has worked the two click angle again for Wed.

It will be interesting to see how long the two click trick (vs three clicks) on the latest Special Challenges can carry into this week.

Based upon past weeks, this special challenge, if done in two-click fashion can be dragged out till at least Friday.

So, while most will only get 3,000 points - others will trick the system into giving them 4,000, 6,000, or 8,000 points by weeks end!

Remember this tip for when the next Special Challenge shows up (which these seem to show every 2-3 weeks)!

Were you able to duplicate maxing out extra points on the Special Challenge over multiple days?
If not, why not?

As to your question about the point of potential cheating for points???  I don't know exactly - you could ask some around here who do it.
If I was to offer you a possible explanation, it would be so to move up on the All-Time Leaderboard for some sort of self-satisfaction??
Or maybe extra points for extra entries into the Daily Gas Buddy $100 gas card giveaway.

I posted about a "Special Challenge" that is available to all.

The two-click vs. three-click Special Challenge is available to everyone too.  Even you!

Some have figured out how to keep the "Special Challenge" on their phone for multiple days.  Is that really cheating if it's avail. to all?

As to worthless points, why does GB give them away?

Why do you get all of your avail points most days if they are worthless to you?

Why do some trick the system to get more Special Challenge Points?
I don't know - that's why I bring it up - maybe one of them explain why they're not so worthless.

BTW, more points are not exactly worthless if they help someone earn a $100 Gas card.
I'm guessing that a $100 Gas Card is worthless to you??

Ah, so finally, you don't believe that all points are useless - they're like lottery tickets with a chance to earn a $100 gas card!

Now, I'm not going to be like some and run to the mods because you inferred that I cheat...that's your right IMO.

But what do you base your inference on?  This week's Special Challenge and the two-click trick?
It's not really cheating if everyone can do it...and I don't hide hack secrets like some around here do.

I let everyone here know how they could earn some extra points from a Special Challenge for the goal of that slim chance at winning the lottery ($100 gas gift card).

BTW, here's my points for this week - as can be verified on Gas Buddy's website for anyone to look at:



Sun - 2,025 plus my weekly 1k bonus for last week
Mon - 2,025 plus my Feb monthly 6k bonus
Tue - 2,025 plus the 3k bonus for clicking the Special Challenge 3x
Wed - normal points day
Thur - normal points day
Fri - normal points day (have not yet earned the Fri night points bonus)

So, No cheating here by me!

Now, I don't know what these 4 Canadian GB's are doing here?? Is this Cheating?? in your eyes? 
Looks like they're just earning extra Special Challenge points!

So, with the new challenge, I've noted that GB#1, GB#2, GB#3, & GB#4 have elected to ONLY click on it TWO (2) times today for ONLY 2,000 points.

...as opposed to most everyone else who elected to click the Special Challenge three (3) times for 3,000 points.

So, GB#1, GB#2, & GB#4 (who come here EVERY DAY) and see these posts... Why only click twice vs. three times???
