On the home page of the GasBuddy App, if one was to scroll down, there is a banner that states: So...why was my original post about this "Special Challenge", that I typed up yesterday, removed from this thread?? |

For the first time in forever it seems, we've got a new October special challenge to post 31 prices this month.
The 2,000 points are already in the bag!

For the first time in forever it seems, we've got a new October special challenge to post 31 prices this month. And there were no requirements for specific time of day, brands, or grades.
As usual on the first, I made a little longer circuit to get 18 postings for the monthly 6,000 points. That was more than enough to also get the points for the special challenge.

Also customary of late, no clown badge (such as the one pictured below) was awarded, so there's no way I know of to find out how many have met the challenge. The clown badge for today's High Five challenge:  |

I heard through the grapevine that the reason Gasbuddy has not being doing very many Special Challenges is because a member was so obsessed with them and kept complaining to Gasbuddy to put an end them.
I’ve always been of the opinion that the Special Challenges was coming from companies other than Gasbuddy to advertise their products and by no longer putting them out would actually cut into Gasbuddy’s revenue!

GB is running a special 1,000 point "Tanksgiving" challenge that can be had simply by posting reviews for 3 stations. No daily max.
Reportedly, this is USA only. I don't remember hearing about a Canada only counterpart for their Thanksgiving?

A US only rate a Pilot/Flying J is up this week -- same as a couple of weeks or so ago -- and probably will be available through Friday if it's like the last one.

Refer a friend challenge starts tomorrow. Refer three friends in the month of March and get an extra 1,000 points.

The only one that I know of, that would come close to fitting that description, is me in some form. Was it me that you were told was the member? I will say this...while I have called out what I believe is gaming the app for extra points and I have complained loudly to GB about those who game for extra points, I have never requested that they end them...I enjoy an honorable challenge as much as the next person...but only if the playing fields is fair to all...and no one is gaming for extra points? I wonder if I'll get a thumbs up on my post...especially for some of the same who thumbed up yours. |

And now a three part special challenge “June Report Athon”, report 3 prices a day to get 15 prices posted with only 3 each day for 1,000 points and to open 2nd part of challenge!
