I don't have a problem with deleting my older pictures.

Hmm... since reverse post order is a plugin, that would go into that "space" as well and also require a fee?
With Photo_uck_t stopping their free services, getting free photo sharing will become more and more rare, likely other companies will follow suit or at least "learn" from that experience.

If you need space, you probably could get back a couple of megabytes by wiping out the attachments that I've used. Everything that I've done since I learned how to do it has been hosted on my non-GB{O} Website. Which has been a couple of days now.

Wow. Thanks for all your work looking in to this. I would think automatically deleting older photos would be good. More than a couple of days. Everyone doesn't get here in a day or two. I would vote more for a week or two, if possible.
And/or, if there is a cheaper way to post photos, that would be great. Along with instructions how to do that. I never figured out how to post photos that were not too large. I don't have time for that, since I hardly post photos, and this is the only place I need that skill.
Still giggle at a guest thinking of "we"
Thank you CK!

Just imagine all those "guests" was a registered user... ... and none of you would think any different of the posts presented.
<<yes I am still a gasbuddy and still post prices>>

I have no problem with automatically deleting photos (especially large ones) after a week or two. Anyone not willing to learn how to link to another site is probably just lazy. I also have no problem with shrinking the size of photos. Many photo programs allow you to set the compression level for .jpeg photos. I see no reason to have megapixel photos stored were. They should be stored externally (on the poster's dime).

Seriously,, forums like this are a dime a dozen on the Internet...quick answer, quick fix:
Use the KISS method (Keep It Simple Stupid)in maintaining the forum allotment.
1. Retain posts for a Maximum period of two weeks 2. Limit posting attachments per individual and Auto delete attachments after one week (I've seen some clowns add some cockamamie biased attachment supporting their argument on virtually everything they post. 3. Limit posts by number of words or letters like you see in many response blocks as some like to write a book and rant on forever....get to the point. 4. posting the newest post last really rather sucks as (see Statistics below) who reads these silly posts before they respond anyway?
Statistically, very few forum posters go back and read past posts from others and those that do usually have nothing but time on their hands and live on these forums.

cgrover, CK mentioned the site wants $3 a month to increase the attachment site by a little.

Maybe CampKohler needs a GoFundMe page to pay for some of the premium features!

Need a bot that automatically goes through attachments:
Week 0: user posts attachments up to 1MB. Week 2: Attachment pictures resized to 800x600 and shrunk with higher compression ratio. Week 4: Attachment pictures deleted.
Assumption is that people don't care about pictures after a month, perhaps also put a flag in the post for the autodeleter to not delete them and instead send a message to the admin when it comes time to delete.
Now I don't know how many pictures and what the average picture size is at this point - whether we have a size or a quantity problem...

Cactus, it happens when a poster uses the 'attachment' feature to put up a pic. If you look to the upper right of the Create Post box, (not the Quick Reply box) you see the button to make an attachment. The image is stored on the FreeForum server. Now that many of us are aware of these limits, we are looking to 'link' the pics instead of attaching them. If you use the attach button , the pic is stored on FF and counts against the allotment. If you link from an outside photo server, such as Imgur, it doesn't count.
