Brackets busted? This year's Sweet Sixteen is tied for the third highest total remaining seed number since the tourney expanded to 64 teams in 1985. 1. 1986...89 2. 1999...88 2. 1990...88 4. 2018...855. 2000...85 Also the South region's total remaining seed number is 32 which is the 3rd highest. 1. 2011 Southwest 34 -- #1 Kansas vs. #12 Richmond, #11 VCU vs. #10 Florida St 1. 1986 East 34 -- #1 Duke vs. #12 DePaul, #14 Cleveland St vs. #7 Navy 3. 2018 South 32 -- #5 Kentucky vs. #9 Kansas St, # 7 Nevada vs. #11 Loyola, Il. 4. 2001 South 31 -- #1 Michigan vs. #12 Gonzaga, #7 Penn St vs. #11 Temple 4. 1990 West 31 -- #1 UNLV vs. #12 Ball St, #7 Alabama vs. #11 Loyola Marymount 6. 2013 West 30 -- #9 Wichita St vs. #13 LaSalle, #2 Ohio St vs. #6 Arizona At first, I was confused at how you arrived with this seed number and what it all meant, but since you listed it, it all fell into place. At this point, it's anyone's tournament. My Cats are the lowest seed in the south. The way they have been playing all year, I was surprised they didn't make the NIT. They shocked me by winning the SEC tournament. Here is another tidbit of information. No UK team that has one the SEC tournament has ever won the National Championship! So, those of you that hate UK, can probably breathe a sigh of relief. I wasn't sure how to label it, but just adding the remaining seeds together is all I did, going back to 1985. Since it seemed like the South region was really full of upsets, thought it would be interesting to see historically speaking. Also, I took Kentucky into the Final Four, so wasn't too upset with all the carnage.

This is why it's March "Madness"! It's just plain madness! LOL If it went as we thought it would, it wouldn't be worth making brackets and keeping up!

But it is why we love it!
Have to watch the Wildcats play the wildcats tonight. Then tomorrow both WV and KU play. Grandson's school, UNTx won last night in the CBI by 20 points. I think they are now in the best out of 3 finals.

Michigan eliminates Texas A&M 99-72 to advance to the Elite 8. That was a dominate performance over A&M.

Kentucky gets knocked off by Kansas State, 61-58. That was just a flat out ugly game, that was dominated by the officials with their far too numerous foul calls. THREE players from Kansas State foul out, terrible. Was pulling for Kentucky only because I had them in my bracket, so many turnovers. How far college basketball has fallen.

First time in 10 tries that K State beat Kentucky. Agree Zim, way too many fouls called. If that PJ Washington knew how to make free throws, Kentucky would have made Ashley Judd happy.

Good morning
Great seeing Loyola continue into the final four. And certainly glad that FSU got stopped last night. Today is games between the mostly usual powers in the dance. KU and Duke along with Nova a surprising Tech. And we continue onward to the last dance. It is always interesting!
