As the one year anniversary of GasBuddy’s deplorable decision to block access to their website discussion forum approaches, many GBs remain active on the Great Big Organization forums. Started and moderated by CampKohler one year ago today, GBO’s forums offer most of the modern forum features that so many demanded from GasBuddy to no avail. Instead of modernizing the early 2000s forum software that the original owners created, GasBuddy simply unplugged their dated forums on the morning of March 27, 2018. Many view that decision as simply one in a long line of choices that have degraded the GasBuddy website, specifically, and the GasBuddy brand, generally. We have 675 members to date, some very active, many not active at all. Thanks to CK for all the effort! It's definitely made the transition easier for me.

Thanks SUV
I was messaging a lot of my GB friends to see if anyone wanted to keep in touch. We were all disappointed with GB. Disloyalty. However, I was also pleased we could still message and my mail was still available. Disappointed all the pictures went AWOL.
I have a few I personal email to. It's nice chatting with friends across the country and exchanging greetings. Pigeon007 first messaged me about the new ways to the forums for which I am grateful.
Long live friendships far and wide... on GBO and GB.

Thanks, SUV. I still post gas prices, the reason I went there to begin with, but it's not at all the same.

I agree with SUVFan's comments regarding GB's decision to shutdown the GB Forum. It was totally inappropriate. The site started and developed by Jason Toews was more member friendly. The current owners that purchased the site, it's all about corporate America and MONEY.
I miss the Forum and have noticed since the Forum was shutdown almost a year ago, the members that remained on the site (there are fewer), post less gas prices. Previously with GB members there were none of few unreported gas prices at stations. This is a regular occurrence.
How do you sign up for the GBO site to connect with former GB Forum members? There are some of you that I communicated with regularly on the GB Forum. It would be fun to reconnect.

When gasbuddy split they lost half of us.. I guess the cost of broadband was to much for them..

Thanks, SUV. I still post gas prices, the reason I went there to begin with, but it's not at all the same. Most of us feel that way it seems. I'm seeing a lot more stations without price posts these days. Their concept of crowdsourcing as a way to generate data appears to be failing.

Wish I could have earned the points through GasBuddy's forum and chatted with like motorists. This site is awesome but less convenient than GasBuddy's link to the forum that was taken down. Keep up the great work guys.

I like GBO because of the hard work of the people getting it all together. CK has done us proud. GBO covers a lot of topics. I only have a limited few favorites bookmarked for ease of quick access because otherwise I'd be on my laptop all day!!
I still do GB so I don't loose the consecutive days and the SLIM CHANCE of the elusive $100 gas card. I know there are other websites which show gas prices in my destinations but GB was/is easy.
One of these days, my garden will take precedence. For now, it's time well spent on GBO
Stay warm and safe. Goodnight.
