The weather got warmer and the shovelfuls got heavier. A few more shovels saw my back ready to scream. Stopped just in time, before my back started to feel hurt. If it takes a few more days to dig out, fine. Want to minimize as much back pain as possible.

Really no point in pushing it if you can get in and out without clearing it, as it will be gone soon anyway.
Great one here today. Guesser's revision says we'll hit 60. I'm taking down a bed of ornamental grass -- shoots are just starting to pop. Then I'll mulch the cuttings into the yard with the mower.
Walked 9 this morning -- 2.5 miles.

Highs are to be mid 40's in sun that'll melt the snow. Do see about 6" of new snow on the way for the end of next week. April sure is spring in these mtns. Folks have been sugaring for weeks. There's a foot of snow on the ground.

Wow, you're getting dumped on in the spring! Best thing about that is that, unlike when that hits in December, you know it won't stick around all that long. December snow can disappear just as quickly but far less likely.
I didn't note yesterday that I mowed for the first time this spring. Didn't touch the ditches or the far back, but I was very surprised how badly it needed to be mowed.

Happy Easter!
Mowing the lawn is a Gigantic dream here. Have 8-9" of consolidated snow w/a solid crust. Still gonna get over 6" of new snow Wed into Thurs. Don't mind as April sees spring. Got the Ariens unstuck from melt water yesterday. It rained this winter more than ever.

Happy Easter!
Congrats on springing the snow thrower from the muddy, icy quagmire! Now if the guesser is right (or underguesses), you can clear it if you want to.
Just had a shrimp cocktail appetizer. Kroger had 2 lb. bags of frozen peeled & deveined, cooked shrimp on special for $11.44. Decent sized -- 26/lb. Very tasty!

The Ariens is free from the ice, yet could not start it yesterday. Will try again today. Forecast is for snow Wed thru Sat. About 8" of snow total. Can live with that. Current snow depth 9" is all hard crust.

Well, hopefully it starts. We got a ton of rain overnight, more coming tonight and then waves tomorrow with tornados likely in the state. Golf's already cancelled tomorrow.
Got 2.25 miles in on the elliptical, then went to TG.
Did spot an interesting bumper sticker at TG for this Portland Maine establishment:
Looking at the menus, I could eat there every day for about a week!

May have to try making a lobster omelette!

A few places make lobster pizza too. Spring is in the air. The foot of snow melted off the roof. There is some bare spots on the lawn, even in the forest. A few vernal springs have begun. It's even gonna be 51° again today. Tho we are to get a foot of snow for the next 3+ days. The buds are ready to open, one of these days.

Not so sure about Lobster pizza!
Hopefully your blower started! But if not, that foot of snow if it happens will be gone quickly.
It rained all night here and with all the flooding, I didn't head out to TG. I did get 2.5 miles in on the elliptical.

Never tried lobster pizza. Think it may have no tomato sauce. Don't really know. It's gonna have four days of winter weather. The forecast is for 10" of snow. The last foot melted in a week. The temp will be far above freezing, so this snow will melt fast as well. Looking for high spring temps.

Maybe it's winter's last hurrah!
We could get a half inch of snow tonight but the ground's warm enough that it should melt fast.
Knee's been squawking at me a little, so I'm skipping the elliptical today. Did go to TG and play virtual Pebble Beach.

The current forecast is for 6-10" of snow. No biggie if there is more or even less. Snow w/a little rain mixed in thru Sat. Have plenty of food to get me thru the storm, about two months worth of good food in my two fridges and outdoor freezer.

Sounds like you're set!
We had snow showers this morning -- nothing stuck, just ready to be done with winter. Watching the wave of show showers come across the TG venue was interesting. Just don't want to see it again.

Wind speeds of 50-70 mph knocked out power for 16 hours. No fun w/ the outside temp, at 30°, 10" of new snow and the INNside temp falling all night long. Am achy from the colder house. Will recover w/some warm sleep. Rec'd 10" of snow so far over 2 days.
