Solution is to ban intolerance to opposing views Which, again, as already pointed out isn't the problem.
With as much as you post here, why don't you register? Just asking out of curiosity...

Initially I don't register to stay anonymous. Big business have too much tracking going on, every little thing done to thwart them makes life harder for them, even if they end up winning in the end.
Now I notice that people are complaining that I can't be silenced when posting anonymously, so now I have extra reason not to register.
Unfortunately I sure do post opposing and possibly unpleasant views, but hopefully they're pointing at the problem, and not ad hominem. These kinds posts are pointless, but there is Shakespeare's "If you prick us, do we not bleed? ... if you wrong us, shall we not revenge?"

"Unpleasant views" is not the same thing as constant ad hominem or straight-up personal attacks... Perhaps come to the politics forum and see just what it is that we are dealing with.

Solution is to ban intolerance to opposing views. Well said! Of course there is no way to technically do that, so one must simply grit one's teeth as the price of achieving the goal of freedom of speech.

It's not a nice thing to do when a company tries to silence users with a real issue with their product!

By the way, if it's not obvious, the registered picturefreak is not the real picturefreak. Alas, I don't care. I shall remain anonymous!

And thank you, it's rare to know people who understand the true meaning behind my posts instead of simply taking it at face value and bashing it claiming it isn't the problem... because it is!

In case it's still not clear, people must think of the problem in the other person's shoes not in only their own. Then perhaps it will make sense.
Remember that to produce an argument it takes two. Thinking about it from only your side produces intolerance.

Thinking about it from only your side produces intolerance. Which is why I'm looking to 'ignore' the trolls posting ad hominem and personal attacks - not opposing views.
The trolls referenced previously aren't interested in 'arguing', which is fine. That is a form of debate with two opposing views...

I don't think it is asking a lot to have to register to post in the political forum since it is clear that people in that forum are abusing the current site setup. If they want to continue to spew their insults, they must simply register - that allows individuals the choice to put them on ignore so they no longer need to read their personal attacks.

Looks like login was fixed overnight.
Whoever registered picturefreak made a grave mistake. Not only an attack was made against someone who didn't make any disparaging posts in the political forums - merely stating indisputable non-political facts in this topic, now brings more guest account names to further obscure the identity of guests.
I shall not be tracked! I shall not be silenced!

The irony is that there's no need for a computer to tell you to ignore, just don't read text you don't want to read! People just need to learn to ignore. It doesn't matter anyway - other people can still read the text you ignore.
It's unfortunate that people who do respect the rules, as well as respects others, but merely wants to remain untrackable to big business are the ones that get silenced by the requirements for accounts.

You don't post in the politics forum, so what difference is it to you? And why are you fighting so hard for people whose sole intent is to post ad hominems and personal attacks in the politics forum? I note how you keep trying to redefine this as 'opposing viewpoints', which it is not - thus far from "indisputable facts"...
