I agree with suvfan and plan to post the bare minimum. I haven't used them to find low prices for several years because a very large number are either incomplete or wrong. But I will no longer correct the ones that are wrong.

I am not really planning on going back. When GB started, in the Twin Cities, our prices changed dramatically, and it would take about 24 hours for all stations to catch up. and the changes sometimes were 20 cents or more. So it made sense to find out where cheaper gas was near you. Now, our prices don't change that much, and when they do, it is by a few cents. And, now so many stations have fuel rewards, that even if their gas is 4 cents higher, it is still cheaper when using your reward for cents of the price. It does come in handy while on a road trip, seeing where the next stations are, and their prices. I guess I will leave it on my phone, but further back on the pages, for traveling. I have about 2,000 tickets remaining. Maybe a month or so after the END date, I will go spend them all.

Which unnamed organization? Gas Buddy or Waze? Do you mean Twitter or Instagram or Printerest or Facebook? Or MySpace or RallyPoint? As someone posted on Gas Buddy, if that's what you mean, why are you so embarassed or upset to refer to it by name? I enjoyed my time there even though I haven't been a daily user for quite a while, mainly because I pretty much know my local gas price structure. I don't post to much of their topics but I do check it out once in a while. Why wouldn't I use the site if I want to know about gas prices? Or will this new site start to post Albuquerque fuel prices so I have a reason not to use Gas Buddy, or to not have to use two different websites?
Yes, I will go back to MySpace but maybe not to Facebook on or after March 27th.

I will be a wait and see, the app tends to freeze my phone and the pop ups bug the heck out of me...

I stopped posting prices in 2015 when they started giving away points to people with smart phones. It created an unfair advantage that was an insult to old members like myself who made it the success that it was. I joined in 2005 & had to earn every point the hard way. When my rank started dropping everyday despite obtaining the maximum daily points that were available I had enough & stopped posting prices.

I'll use up my points, and am spending them down in multiples every day. Still a useful site, even though I'm ticked off that they're eliminating the threads and whiteboards.

Why wouldn't I use the site if I want to know about gas prices? Because the new owners of gasbuddy are and always have been more interested in making money from ad revenue due to greater and greater numbers of eyeballs viewing the site than accuracy of the actual data ON the site, the reliability of posted prices has been marginal at best for several years. Even when bad postings and rogue posters have been brought to the attention of the moderators, they have chosen to do nothing about it for the most part. I haven't posted a single pump price this calendar year mostly because they have demonstrated to me they don't really give a flying crap about accurate prices. So, why should I bother?

My reasons for posting prices have not been invalidated by the pending discontinuation of the forum functionality on the one-time "full site."
Before I found G@sBuddy, I was on USENET (the original forum software). They are still around, but you have to go through third parties at most Internet Service Providers.
