Tru, I know at least ten people who have contracted it. Fortunately, I have not been near any of them in person. Now, if it could spread via Zoom call . . . . I know of three people who have had it. Mom had it but she was asymptomatic. Good thing because she's 98. My cousin had two of her children get it but both of them have recovered. One of them is an RN, so she gets priority vaccination although they say if you've had COVID-19 to recuperate 90 days before getting vaccinated.

Got my pneumonia shot January 13th. I had pneumonia in November. They did a good bit of checking that it was not COVID-19 or flu. They prescribed antibiotics for it, just going out to the drugstore drive-thru window was enough to wear me out.

My wife is an RN and has had both Pfizer shots. The second one kicked her butt. Very sore arm, aches, chills and fever for about 24 hours. She was up and going within 36 hours. You just confirmed what I have been hearing -- the second shot is what is causing most of the issues. And that was the Pfizer shot. I heard the other day from a neighbor who works in the health care industry and got the first Moderna shot that the second shot of that vaccine is leaving people feeling even worse than jayrad described the 2nd Pfizer shot.

It's all been very rushed, so I'm not surprised there are some adverse reactions that might have been avoided with more care. Still, there's a small percentage of people who end up either dead or with dreadful outcomes and, if the vaccine heads that off, maybe it's worth the chance you spend a day feeling bad.
The new J&J vaccine is supposed to be out soon -- it is only supposed to be about 66% effective at avoiding C-19 altogether but nearly 100% effective at heading off bad outcomes. It's a single shot deal so it might only cause adverse reactions in folks who had C-19 already and still have antibodies.
Then there's the crap shoot of all these new variations/mutations.

Here’s Why Your Second Dose of COVID-19 Vaccine Will Likely Have Stronger Side Effects
“The first vaccine teaches your body how to react to the virus,” said Dr. Debra Powell, the chief of infectious diseases at Tower Health in Pennsylvania.
Armed with antibodies and memory T cells that recognize the virus protein from the first shot, the immune system response tends to be more robust when the second dose is delivered, she noted.
The second shot can be followed by symptoms such as fever, fatigue, headache, and soreness at the injection site on their arm. That’s actually a very good thing!
These common symptoms are typically signs that the vaccine has triggered a response by your immune system. And that’s exactly what it is supposed to do.
“When you feel sick or have a fever, that’s your body responding,” Dr. Debra Powell, told Healthline. “It’s a very short-term thing and much better than getting COVID and being sick for 2 weeks or in the hospital.”

Greetings, Tru (NAPA CA) , I am glad you have received both of your shots. I am getting my second one today. I am bracing for a rough day tomorrow, your post gives me hope it will be mild or non-existant. Either way we will be covered in two weeks. Here is the rest of the story. No matter side effects, vaccine is workingWhile some people worry about side effects, Powell emphasized that you shouldn’t be concerned if you don’t feel sick after your first or second dose of vaccine.
“For most people, it’s very mild, and some don’t get anything,” she said.
She noted that side effects vary from person to person and that the lack of symptoms doesn’t mean your immune system isn’t working properly.
Powell also stressed that the fear of side effects should not discourage people from getting the full course of vaccination, pointing out that while the first dose of vaccine improves your immunity by about 50 percent, it’s only about 2 weeks after the second shot that vaccine protection against symptomatic COVID-19 rises to 95 percent.
Significant numbers of people experience milder side effects after vaccination. “It is more common to see fatigue and local reactions than to see fever,” said Nachman.
Mild side effects of the COVID-19 vaccination tend to clear up within 36 hours of injection.
Side effects are typically more pronounced among younger people than older people, likely because their immune systems are more robust. “In general, the older the patient is, the less likely the reaction is to be significant or severe,”said Nachman.
“In general, it is more common to see reactions with dose two,” Dr. Sharon Nachman, told Healthline. “This is what we see with tetanus vaccine as well as other commonly used adult vaccines like zoster vaccines. However, we have heard from many patients who had a reaction to dose one and were prepared to get a worse reaction to dose two, and had nothing.”
According to research dataTrusted Source submitted to the FDA, 7 percent of people between the ages 18 and 55 receiving the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine reported fever, compared to 31 percent who reported a fever after the second dose.
With the Moderna vaccine, 1 percentTrusted Source of those ages 18 to 64 reported fever after the first dose, and 17 percent reported getting a fever after the second dose.
Reports of fatigue — the most common side effect — as well as headache and chills tended to be more likely after the second dose than the first for both vaccines.
People over age 55 receiving the Pfizer vaccine were less likely to report any of these side effects. Only 3 percent of older recipients, for example, reported fever after the first dose, with 21 percent reporting fever after the second dose.

I am interviewing for a housekeeper. First question I ask is do you smoke second is are you willing or have you gotten your vaccine for covid-19? Either of these is a strike against hiring. One young lady who was honest and said no I don't think I would be willing to get the shot so this isn't going to work. That's her choice she can have a job or not or maybe find a job somewhere else, but I have COPD and cannot have smokers around me at my age, and after going a year of protecting myself why would I invite someone into my home who refuses to get the shot at this late stage? So it's her choice. Definitely mine

Received my first dose of the Pfizer vaccine. More than a week later and I am still having side effects from it. My Doctor wants me to get the second shot. I told him that he can visit me in the hospital. Really not feeling very good and do not want to get the second shot. I know, I know you need two doses to be protected. But. . .

I am thinking if a person gets a shot and happens to come down with the flu or allergies because of the Season or whatever, they blame it on the vaccine. I am just the opposite I've had a cough for 7 months and right around the time of getting my second shot the cough disappeared. I'm thinking I wonder if the vaccine killed whatever the cause was for the cough. However it's probably just coincidence. Possibly in both cases. In any case gas cat after a week you're still alive, so apparently if you do have covid-19 it has been a much milder case and that's all the vaccine promises. Your life.

I know that I do not have COVID-19 as I was tested for it in December 2020. I was not dizzy prior to receiving the vaccine. Guess my system just does not care for having this product introduced into my system. I've had bad reactions to medications in the past, so this is not unusual for me to react to a medication. That is why I was marked as high risk and have to do the 30 minute wait. And, I could be allergic to one or more of the ingredients. Wound not know unless I was allergy tested for all of the ingredients in the vaccines. Sure wish this dizziness would go away!!!!
