I haven't had the covid-19 vaccine for weeks now but I am taking a new drug and I have had some dizziness myself lately. Apparently dizzy Miss can come as a side effect from many drugs. Actually I only get dizzy when I stand up quickly or fairly quickly. And I've noticed I have to be careful for a second or two after I stand up. I'm sure that is because the BP is low. So many side effects from so many drugs but they keep us Alive and Kicking. The older we get the more drugs we take it seems.

Had dose #1 of Pfizer February 19th. Had dose #2 of Pfizer March 12th. Have had sixteen days since the second dose. Should be immune now.

Dr. Makary from Johns Hopkins has said that once you get your second shot and are 30 days past the first, you're pretty much immune. Any side effects from the shots, Sneakers?

The side effects I'm having from my second dose of Pfizer are not very good. Too many to list, but the dizziness that had gone away is now back stronger then ever. SIGH

I think I was a bit more sore in the vaccinated arm, but it bothered me before I got vaccinated. Once four weeks pass from March 12th, I'm planning to get the Shingrix shingles vaccine. I have had Zostavax but Shingrix is the good shingles vaccine. I have a high school friend who has had shingles twice and she said it's nothing to fool around with.

Gas Cat,I am sorry you are having a rough time. I hope it passes very soon. I have had both shots of Moderna's SARS Covid 19 vaccine. I now am suppose to have 94.1% coverage. At 27 hours after the second shot I started feeling blah and cold, I checked my temperature, it was 99.3 for 5 hours and I felt fine after that. I did get a sore arm the second day that was gone the next day. My son has had both of Pfizer's vaccine shots as of March 31st. He said he felt kind of 'punk' the next day. I ask him if he had a fever, he said he was to busy working to know if he did or not. He did have a sore arm for 1 day. He has never had any allergies to any medicines or vaccines. On the other hand I have a laundry list of medicines I have had a severe allergic reaction to. I honestly was terrified to get the vaccine. They watched me for 30 minutes. I am thankful to have only had a couple of the expected minor side effects for a few hours.

Felt like I was just going to fall over, but I didn't. 8 days later and I am still dizzy.

I have had both shots of the Pfizer vaccine, and no side effects from either one. A Little Tenderness around the shot area that's all. Only noticed that when I laid on that arm. Very few people have side effects from the shots from the millions who had the shots or like me no side effects. People who have low immune systems or some other things going on like my neighbor who has cancer have a faw. For those of you who are afraid be more afraid of covid-19 the variance that are going around now especially.

Now I'm starting to get afraid again. I am hearing that about a third of our population don't want to get the V a c c i n e, and that is a big problem because that means none of us are safe ,even those of us who have gotten the shots, if we are around the people who haven't we can get covid-19 V a r i a n t s so easily, only if we do it will be a milder form and not life-threatening probably because we have the shots. But it just seems so unfair after staying away from others for a year isolating and then getting the shots to protect ourselves and we still are at the mercy of those who won't join us getting herd immunity.

Tru, if the variants are vax proof, it doesn't matter if they get the shot, too. The variants will spread regardless of who gets shot.
The CDC just said that if you got vaxed, you're safe outdoors without facegear but indoors, you need to mask up. Fauci probably still wants 2 masks indoors. It makes no sense and they're not sharing the underlying data. By now enough have had the vaccines that there should be reliable data to tell us how effective it is. When I hear them address it, at most they say, "We don't know yet so wear the mask."
Folks who don't really want to get the vaccine but might if they thought the gov't was playing it straight are going to be understandably put off and even more distrustful. Plus, they're going to ask why bother? If I can still transmit it and/or get it, what good is the stupid vaccine? And if the vaccine works, why do I need the mask?
With there being open vaccine appointments it's time drop the restrictions and let those who decided not to get the vaccine find out if that was a smart move? Unvaccinated people should be the lowest priority for the healthcare system -- if they don't care enough to protect themselves, why should the system be overburdened with them?
Harsh? Probably but I'm all about accountability and responsibility.

The Governor of Florida dropped all restrictions this week. However, individual business can still require masks, etc.

Things are getting closer to normal here. More and more stores are relaxing their facegear requirements saying that those who are vaccinated need not wear them. It's an honor system, which is appropriate. If you've been vaccinated, the stats say you're pretty safe. If you're not and you've got one or more of the risk factors, you can choose to stay away from people.
The hysteria I'm hearing on a few news shows over child vaccination is distressing. The stats are compelling that kids generally just don't get the disease any where nearly as badly as adults (only 6 out of over 100,000 Ohioans under 17 have died from COVID-19 and who knows how many of those were simply COVID co-morbidities, possibly asymptomatic, and, say child diabetes was the actual cause of death?) and that older adults with other risk factors are far more vulnerable to dire outcomes.
There's no way to know about the vaccine's long term side effects so with the chance of very little reward in exchange for a total unknown, I can't imagine allowing my child to get shot unless the kid had some kind of COVID risk factor consistent with the ones that expose adults to the bad outcomes. Frankly, under 40 and fit, I'm not seeing the possibility of a net benefit. That said, I'm not critical of anyone who makes a different choice because they weigh the risks differently.

In Ohio, only the transportation health orders remain in place, meaning masks and social distancing are required on trains and busses and other forms of public transportation.
Costco brought back free samples!
We'll see if there's any impact on cases, hospitalizations and deaths.

It is difficult to know if you need a mask when you go out as every place seems to have a different rule. So, I try to remember to have one with me. This is getting very confusing in my area.

At tonight's meeting the Columbus Ohio City Council took down it's mask mandate. It will be effective as soon as the Mayor signs it. Businesses are still free to require face coverings. Most have not been enforcing the requirement here since the governor's announcement in my previous post.
