This morning I've got the Eurythmics' 1983 hit Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) stuck in my head. The cause is another meme:  I learned that parody is based on a commonly misheard lyric dating at least to 1993. According to this blog post, "Sweet dreams are made of cheese” is a popular misheard lyric (mondegreen) that has been cited in print since at least 1993 and has been printed on many images:Cross posted in the misheard lyrics topic |

A new to me insurance commercial has The Foundations' great 1968 hit Build Me Up Buttercup stuck in my head. They've had other commercials featuring the song, too.
The commercial features someone else having it stuck in their head and then being bounced back to reality with the song skidding to a stop. In other versions, the song picks back up with whoever interrupted it starting it back up!
