THE NEWEST NEWER NEW AGE MOVEMENT
There has been a lot of talk in the last half century from the self-proclaimed centre of the Christian universe about a new age movement that would detract from Christianity. The finger has often been pointed at spiritualism in it's various forms (excluding of course spiritualism within Christianity).
But this has predominantly been because of the need for surrogate enemies to keep the congregations on guard and loyal to the current Christian movement. The worldly element within Christianity doesn't love it's enemies, it loves to have them in order to set itself apart. They must have their piece of flesh rather than peace of the flesh. This is the newest newer new age movement, which is actually quite old.
The real enemy to this current 'old guard' has actually been silent for quite some time, hence the surrogates to keep the watchful wary and close-minded. As a matter of fact, for the church to expose this old enemy, it ironically would be it's own undoing, as this old enemy was the original church founded by Jesus.
It seems to me, and I think you too will also find (if honesty prevails) that fingers are often pointed outwards when there is insecurity within or there is a need to deflect attention away from oneself. Often the false security of long-standing tradition is not enough. This was just as true in the time of the Pharisees as it is today. Those who pursue this deflection now are no different in motive than were the Pharisees of their day. Human nature is constant throughout history.
When John the B and Jesus came along, the Pharisees were also believers in resurrection, Yet the Pharisees viewed both of these newcomers as cults because of John's and Jesus' popularity, not to mention their bringing of future events into the now. A movement threatened the old school religious establishment and the authority of those in charge of it. These old school were a worldly power in Judah built within the Adversary's Age and upon his same principles of self, as was the rest of the world.
To them this new movement was new age thinking, and indeed it was, the New Age of God's reign. If they were on the ball they would have understood what it meant when the new age came to replace the old age... the old Age of Satan of which they were a part. But they were thinking end times, not present. This threatened their current position in the same way the Kingdom threatens political Christianity today (today's real new age cult). To suddenly lose power to another movement was/is unacceptable as it threatens their system.
The Pharisees were unwilling to believe, simply because they were thinking in terms man understood, that the new Age would come in visible power and glory and might, the greater the better... not at the hands of a nobody carpenter and his merry band of illiterate fishermen, tax collectors and female philanthropists.
The Pharisees were expecting the new Age of God to be in the image of the world of man that they were familiar with, rather than being it's polar opposite and representative of an alternate type of Kingdom. The same thinking also applied to the people of Judah that condemned Jesus for not being a political or warmongering celebrity hero out to make Judah great again. As I said, man's human nature never changes and most Christians today look for the same kind of leaders.
These Pharisees were of the world of man build within the Adversary's Age, their position linked to the authority of the synagogue, linked to the king of Israel who was a pawn of Rome, and to Rome itself which was at the head of the colony of Judah which used both king and rabbi to aide governing in their name. Even the US when overthrowing and destabilizing other nations as the Romans did, does not govern themselves but governs through leaders of the various institutions in the overthrown nations. And just as Rome used their own religions to control the people and demand loyalty through commonality within Rome, so does the US use it's religions today, just as other fallen empires before it did all the way back to Rome and beyond. Once again, it is the nature/way of man.
Just as the Pharisees refused to relinquish hold of the world and the ways of man (the old Age of the Adversary), neither throughout the following centuries did Gentile Christianity want to relinquish their hold either, especially after the original church of the Way had been absorbed back into the 'old Age' world of man.
The Way had been absorbed in all but scripture, but this was of no worry to the Gentiles who now controlled the scripture itself, for centuries giving them power over what would be given to the masses under their authority and in order to protect it.
To them this way of doing things also was the only tradition/way they had known and an opposing will of God promoting a better way had no place in their concept of kingdom. Their 'old Age' thinking built upon tradition could not (or would not) understand both concepts of kingdom that God had put forward, and that still occurs today.
We witnessed how the post Way church abandoned the Kingdom of God at the time of Constantine to rejoin the 'old Age' world of man. We witnessed how it even became a king making world power itself, not to mention an especially aggressive oppressor of mankind in the traditions of the 'old Age'. We now, over the last hundred but more openly fifty years, have witnessed the revival of the 'old Age' politicizing of Christianity once again within the new 'Rome' of today.
Easy to accomplish when the Protestant section of the religion, unlike it's Catholic counterpart, had lost it's authority as a world political power of it's own. It had become a tool without use to the world of man or God, and it's willing congregations following tradition, sought a voice in their political nation rather than the Kingdom.
So what are we left with? A religious identity today within a world power, similar to the politicized Pharisees who served a worldly Roman master, both seeking a platform of power in world affairs. Similar to Pharisees who once called the movement of the New Age brought in by Jesus, as being a new age cult and enemy to their worldly 'old age' authority. A religion today in the new 'Rome' that still rebels against the Gospel of the Kingdom, called by many followers in their own words, a culty new age teaching. Teachings which interestingly were Jesus' original teachings, now condemned just as the Pharisees condemned them.
Ancient and new politicized religions that were/are more interested in their own worldly power (or actually to be more accurate, it's association through consultation with a world power) than it is with the new Age of Kingdom ushered in by Jesus that opposed such previous 'old Age of Satan' thinking.
Satan's thinking may be alive and well today by way of tradition in both religion and the secular world, but his time ended 2000 years ago. So one might ask, who are these foolish people still following the old ways, seeking by tradition the same useless worldly authority and rewards of their predecessors??
But happily a new old threat has come to life once again where this earth bound religious thinking is once again being slowly but surely challenged by the Kingdom of God, and exposed for what it is.
Forget the yoga and other so called 'new aged' trivially pursued enemies. Forget the abortion and sexual lifestyles designed to draw you into an adversarial Age political mindset rather than a religious new Age one. A political mindset where you are to overlook all the other sins within a political institution opposing God's will, while focussing on only a few. Roped into the adversarial principles of the 'old Age' by appealing to so called Christian sensitivities, forgetting man cannot solve self by way of self.
There's a new but original threat in town and that is a revival of the Kingdom of God as an alternative to corrupted Christianity and the secular world of today. The new Age that overcame the 'old Age' of the Satan 2000 years ago is slowly but surely coming back to light the way, and we are supposed to know the end result.
Time for those who have chosen to remain locked in human 'old Age' thinking to let go and back away from the humanized/politicized Christianity we have been taught by way of tradition as being right, and turn to it's alternative. The Gospel of the Kingdom after all, was Jesus' only Gospel. His Age replaced the Age of the Adversary and mankind.
Hopefully you are not blind/vain enough to think that your nations or politics can't survive without you or your political input. They won't miss you simply because the nature of man dictates that there will never be enough who step away to make a difference or threaten the power that they hold. As Jesus said, no need to fight the system, just simply change to God's system which eventually will rule supreme and overcome those systems of mankind that Christians like to foolishly defend.
Remember, you are not defending a system or nation but defending the 'old Age' principles they are built upon. To do this certainly is not following the new Age principles built upon the will of God that Jesus brought to us.
The Adversary was overthrown 2000 years ago. There is nothing we can do to bring about God's will. That part is done. It is already here for those wishing to follow it. God has just been waiting and watching to see who would abandon the old ways for His ways. So far, not very many, as they cling by way of tradition to the old ways of man and the Adversary.
Are you willing to step back from foolish worldly loyalties built upon the traditional principles of the 'old Age' of the Adversary and learn to live the ways of the Kingdom instead? Would you prefer to remain closed minded, mocking and criticizing the will of God here?
Would you perhaps like to still go to the politics threads, but rather than take sides and pretend one or the other represents God, you instead show there is another option outside the traditional ways and will of man that opposes all represented there? Are your loyalties to a nation or the Kingdom. Jesus said seek Kingdom first.
Pray on it and see (not who will answer) but which god it is you are willing to listen to. The god of this world who even though he has lost the world, wants to keep you thinking in terms of self and go down with him, or the only one true God who wants you to awaken to the difference between the two Ages and two worlds and set yourself free from those traditional ways of mankind. ©
BTW... I speak of what Jesus taught. Unlike some others in these threads and the threads of a bygone forum, I seek nothing for myself. Those are the ways of man. Not seeking a following, no desire for recognition or to lead, no amassing of other like minded for security in numbers or to pat me on the back, no my way or the highway, no financial gain or jet planes, and so on. Again, those are the traditional ways of mankind. None of that matters. We all have the same choice of leaders, the Adversary or God. I prefer the latter thank you and write of His will, not man's.

The question often arises as to why, if Jesus wanted to make an impact or difference, why did He come 2000 years ago instead of today, especially with mass communicative available now. Well apart from the obvious conclusions of it being inappropriate to His cause, where today's people are even worse than the Jews were in looking for celebrity heroes or the fact the religion grew regardless, consider this. Crucifixion has been abolished.
It is unlikely He would have been given community service as His fame was based on just that. Jesus today would at most have been given house arrest. It seems to me stepping outside after three days indoors or getting a weekend pass would hardly have the same impact as resurrection from the dead. God knows what He is doing.

Almost 2000 years since Jesus taught us everything we need to know and yet few in earth (especially those who profess to follow Him) seem to grasp a message that God has been trying to get into our thick self determining heads since the beginning.
God has taught us over and over by way of prophets and a Son, in scripture, etc., that His will comes before that of man. That is to say, His ways are better than those of man. Yet man barrels merrily along doing it all our way ignoring for the most part God's way, or if observing His way, remaking it over in our own image in the name of progress. A common comment give or take, is we have been blessed to have the lifestyle we have given ourselves, often crediting God. This even though He already gave us what we needed which goes opposite to the route mankind takes. Yet what we call a blessing is actually a curse. Why? Because we made it and not God. God gave us ways that would not fail us. Man is not so trustworthy.
God sends messages to us in His own ways. Sitting here watching a hummer at the feeder, one of those messages arrives. Here is this tiny critter feeding at an invention of man, yet should that invention fail, the bird will be no worse off as it will simply return to it's normal food supply of bugs and nectar. Could man revert instantly to what God gave us if our own inventions fail?
It seems to me that humans, unlike hummers or any other creature, have no such luxury to fall back on for the most part because our pride and arrogance has moved us so far from our self sustaining roots that probably 80 to maybe 90% of the population (especially non-rural) would soon die within a couple months if we were cut off from the so called better life man has created for ourselves.
How long would we last today without processed foods, processed water, electricity and fuel? Not very long and the few with skills to fall back on like the little hummers, would most likely be robbed and killed by the few left who resorted back to animalistic ways of survival.
Yet Christians profess to love God but still fail to follow Him and the ways He created for us, preferring the luxuries and life we make for ourselves. The fate that awaits us is well deserved. The lesson was simple, His ways and will over ours, but it looks like no one, especially His followers want to listen.
Man prefers to believe that the world we have created of our own accord supersedes that which God made for us. The reality is the closer we are to our world, the world of our making, the further we are from God. As usual man puts his will before God's and as usual, a day will come when God reminds us who has the better system. God wants no part of the world we created. His kingdom come, not ours. God bless the hummers. They at least deserve that blessing. They haven't abandoned their roots in this world, or God their creator and provider. ©

Funny how the delusions last but reality fades quickly, and we are left with nothing but the societies, politics and religion of today. ©

It seems to me a shame that people, especially professing Christians, prefer to defend the world and ways of man over that of the Kingdom and God, preferring to delude themselves they are secure in their religion, while they live contrary to what Jesus taught. Pride in worldly, national, political or personal identity which overcomes truth. Our perpetual use by nature of self justification and self determination of what is good and evil. Original sin, and defence of such while claiming to be of God.
Reinforcing that delusion while mocking or ignoring those who point out the contrast between God's Kingdom and that of man, only decreases by way of such defensiveness the chance of ever letting go of what the world has taught them, instead of that which Jesus and prior scriptures taught. Where are the flags, borders and political beliefs in the Kingdom to come? A Kingdom which is supposed to be living within those of us now who claim they are repentant and have changed. Those claiming to be reborn into the ways and personage of the Kingdom, having left the ways of world of man and the Adversary behind?
Have they learned nothing from the history of the Hebrew people who did likewise? Do they think they will be forgiven for being unrepentant of the will of man even though it was a direct command of Jesus?
It's a shame so many who claim to believe in God refuse to follow Him, preferring instead to follow the wisdom and ways of mankind. Are they afraid to be mocked as they would have previously mocked others? ©

When one blinds themselves with the politics of man it is quite easy to lose sight of the Kingdom and how those of it are to refrain from playing the games of man. There is no setting the example of Kingdom while busily promoting division between man by way of the favourite game of politics and their parties. Neither represent God as both go against the principle of loving neighbour as self. Where is the unity as a whole, not to be confused with being united in political outlook, which of course is only part of the whole? It is politics that divide you and others, this being the motivation rather than Christianity itself. Getting an apology from a political opposite is like expecting a gift of honey from an angry bee. Trust me. Good friendships here have been destroyed by aggression begat of political/worldly brainwashing.
A Christian involving themselves in politics should be aware by their Christian heritage of the scripture that states Matthew 12:25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: ...
Yet they refuse to see in spite of using God to forward their agenda, they are not part of the solution but part of the problem by promoting division. The division promoted is the wrong one. It is the division between man they promote rather than division between the world of man and the Kingdom of God, two opposing ideologies.
Using God to promote an agenda is not the same as changing oneself to do and promote the will of God.
God has a way of using all of our wise ways against us in order to teach, and once again as a nation seeks to unwittingly destroy itself by way of division within, it proves and will prove again what God has said in scripture. These people are proving the wisdom of God, not by doing His will but by doing exactly as He said they would in their foolishness.
People often ask how a German people once fell for following a false leader to their own destruction. How a selective ethnic/religious group of people could be used in the process. Well the answer is reliving itself today as a nation that once fought this mentality has taken to doing the same, so wrapped up in their petty political squabbles they take no notice of the bigger picture. People in this divided nation today once fought the concept of an outside power dividing the country, yet that is what is happening today. The enemy dwells within while they have been lulled into believing by their own leaders that the cold war was over. (another cold war between the worldly ways of man and the Kingdom will never be over until the end). The nature of man never changes, including both the gullible and the manipulators. Why has history, let alone God, taught these people nothing, these who love division among self? The answer is in the scripture Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
His will is to make division, not between fellow man, but between the world of man and the Kingdom and to side with the Kingdom. You'll never hear that promoted on FOX or CNN or wherever, in church, in the political forums, or even here except for perhaps one occasional voice crying in the wilderness which is the backwards world of man.
Are you and others here dividers among man or dividers between the world man has made and the Kingdom?
Seems to me a lot of Christians have a choice to make before they can truly represent God. ©

Lot of talk about cults these days. Just like one follows the money to get to the root of corruption, it seems to me one should follow who benefits to get to the root of cults..
Jesus and the Way were called a cult by the Pharisees simply because His teachings conflicted with theirs in the same way the early Gentile state church called opponents heretics in their power struggle. What we today would call a cult is a person or group that personally benefits in some way by promoting anything that will cause others to follow or support them. Politicians are probably the greatest cultists out there along with their followers, along with free lance evangelicals or religious institutions pandering to the masses for reward, but we are also familiar with the other textbook types in history.
If one promotes Jesus and His Gospel of the Kingdom, with absolutely no earthly gain of any kind, would that be called a cultist, or a follower of Jesus? If one leads people to Jesus and His Gospel of the Kingdom with no earthly reward, are they cultists? Or are the cultists the ones who lead others AWAY from Jesus and His Gospel of the Kingdom, back to the world of man's making.
Jesus said at least seven times to follow Him instead of those with their own agenda. He said, John 14: 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
The people followed Him as He taught about the Kingdom. Luke 9:11 And the people, when they knew it, followed him: and he received them, and spake unto them of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing.
He said why He was sent here. Luke 4: 43 And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.
He spoke of the division between the world man has made and the Kingdom. Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Romans 12:2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
He said what that will was, the will of His Kingdom, Matthew 22: 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. God's will opposite to most of mankind's will.
He spoke of unity, John 17:23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
He spoke of division among man, Matthew 12:25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
He spoke of the division between world built upon the will of man and the Kingdom of God, Luke 12: 51 Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: Luke 11: 23 He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth.
He spoke of what God thinks of the world of man, Luke 16: 15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God. 16 The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it. James summed it up, James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
He spoke of what we must do to separate ourselves from the world/will of man into being of the Kingdom as God originally intended, doing His will and not man's. Luke 24: 47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. Remission, not carrying on believing you are already saved with no need to change or to relinquish hold of the world man has created.
He spoke against those who speak against those who promote His Kingdom, Matthew 23:13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.
So, if you follow Jesus you are not following those who teach this, but following Jesus Himself. In teaching the Kingdom of God there is nothing in this world of reward or gain for that person. Actually Jesus says the world will hate you for it, similar to the years of mockery and name calling I and others have been subjected to as they oppose His Gospel, so I thank you for proving His point.
Please... consider refraining from dividing people in traditional human ways, and instead consider finding the division between the world of man's making and the Kingdom. Then start teaching it yourself rather than seeking division among man over political or theological nonsense (especially theology devised by the politically savy to lure support). I would gain nothing as a result, but you will inherit the Kingdom in the way it was taught by Jesus (and not by man who reverted back to the Adversary's thinking and ways and wants you do think likewise).
Don't as a result fear being called a cult, as you may have called others in seeking approval from a like minded clique. For you will be teaching what Jesus taught without any gain for yourself at the expense of others, opposite to what a cultist would do. Scripture is clear while theology is not. Don't let pride or human tradition overcome discernment. We are to change to fit God's will, not change what is written of God to justify our worldly ventures, as is so often done by theology (religious philosophy).

It seems to me a shame that people have to be extremely sick or on their way out before they (but not all) make a conscious disconnect with this world we have made and all in it that they deemed important. Finally figuring out hopefully what God has been telling us all along. Even unto the end, He gives us hints and one last chance to separate ourselves from the fallen world of our making and repent of that which we never should have been part of in the first place.

It seems to me, regardless of who we appear to be, there is a child inside acting out, acting out of self preservation. For many it gets to the point that self preservation itself can be manipulated into becoming an instrument of power, which of course is still compensating for the insecure child within. As we grow we adapt that protective skin to serve us in many unhealthy ways.
Matthew 18:3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Life under the will of man always seeks to change that innocent child.
This is an upside down world that seeks to make everyone into our own sordid adult image. Conformity, not with the child but with the false guise of strength and power we as man have created to identify ourselves as wise and strong in contrast to that insecure child. Just check out the politics threads.
It's not necessarily the Adversary doing so. He just suggested it in the beginning. In reality it is just us rolling along on tradition.
Can we break that tradition? Man cannot revert mankind as a whole back and away from that tradition. But we can revert ourselves back and drop the phony outward face we wear. Jesus called it repentance and remission of sin (self will). Again, man as a whole will not be changed but each individual may and in doing so reflect that change in daily life, showing there actually is an alternative to man's will.

Someone recently said in another thread, ' We can't visit Jesus' grave because He's not there!'
So true and fortunate for us for the finality of death has been overcome by one man's desire to do only the will of the Father and not His own. Yet as a result, rather than follow this example, man substitutes theology and worship of a being and builds profitable 'temples' in His honour as a substitute for the grave (our way of visiting Him), all the while forgetting that He commanded us to not worship Him but rather God's will, to change from the traditional ways of man to those of the Kingdom, to God's will. No planes, jewelry or politics required. Resurrection came but salvation came with a caveat... repentance/change. A change of allegiance from man's authourity to His will, a polar opposite. His will reverses everything man builds this world upon. The fruition of what Jesus started will destroy anything man had done, so it puzzles me why people, especially so called Christians, insist on defending the systems of man.
God's Kingdom means living under His rule (He is King so Kingdom means authourity) and living under His rule means doing His will rather than adapting His existence to justify our way of self justification of what we call good. We do to God what man often does to kings. Substitutes with a better idea of our own making, built upon the same ol' same ol' self serving traditional ways of man every society and system has been built upon.
Turn on any news and I fail to see how anyone can justify ANY of what we see there as good or doing His will (especially the latter). Everyone manipulating others and jockeying for position. God teaches doing the opposite yet far too many Christians prefer man's ways to His. Be it the foolish pride of Romans or Jews of authourity back in the day, or people of the nations of today, all have failed the Kingdom of God.
It seems to me a man says make a system great again and people fall over themselves in support. Yet God since the beginning teaches us to make mankind great again and no one listens because there is nothing in it for them in serving others. It's not what they want to hear. Our way first, God's Kingdom if it is convenient or profitable, second.

It seems to me...
Recent posts have talked about preachers who have turned away from politics while one, a son of a turned one, has remained in the political fold. The father saw the light while the son (unlike Jesus) still rebels against the father. He is politically motivated. Politics are a quick way to the top, to recognition. Look at the forums. More 'Christians' post in political threads than Christian ones (no doubt because politics they understand). Yet they assume politics and Christianity are related, just as some fanatical Muslims also do with their religion. God taught the two, politics and Christianity, are opposites.
But ask yourself... can they be blamed for the misrepresentation when Christianity itself returned to the world of man, the political side of life? Before when Roman societal/sytematic influence injected itself into Christianity, but especially later during the foundation of the state religion during Constantine's time? Has not Christianity been associated with the political nature of man ever since and even became a world power itself, contrary to what Jesus taught? Has it not been the one to set this anti-Christian example and create a tradition taught by churches ever since? Is this not the true wolf in sheep's clothing?
Are not people simply following a tradition created by man through religion, contrary to the tradition created by God through Jesus housed in scriptures? Scriptures are Christianity, not the religion, theology or churches.
How do you get Christians, let alone any other religion, to realize that man is not different because we are God's chosen or in His image, but because we rebelled against God and were cast into this world to isolate us and to have us reap the rewards of our own self serving ways to our own detriment? Lesson learned? Or did man glorify self justification by way of the same to create a system man has followed ever since, widening the division between the world of man and the Kingdom of God, while brazenly using God to self justify our acts, rather than change ourselves to do the will of God?
Are not politics a result of the division created by self serving ways? Does loving neighbour as self create this same division among mankind? How do you spread that message to Christians in the political forums so that they see how they have been duped to follow the wrong path? Can those who willingly self justify politics of man even be called followers of God when it is man's will they prefer to follow?

It seems to me while quickly flipping through the 'religious' channels (never mind the telly-marketers hawking stuff in the name of God) that there are far too many preaching what God can do for us... when God and Jesus both focused on what we can do for others. How can people turn their lives around and follow God's will if they focus on self all the time. Self is what got us in trouble with God in the first place. It's only natural to reverse self into what God commands. Why do people fall for this Adversarial preaching about what God can do for us? It's about what we can do for God... namely for each other. ©

I had uninvited guests at the summer palace a few days ago. Seven pigs from a neighbourhood acreage came wandering into the yard, chatted with me for a moment or two, then proceeded to root up the yard and eat the tomatoes and the like. This was not done out of spite or rudeness. It was just pigs doing what pigs do.
People are like the pigs that wandered into my yard the other day. They may have been destructive but as I said, they were simply doing what pigs do. They can't be faulted for that. For them there is no conversion to a different mindset. The same applies to all animals. It is their nature. It is also of the animal side of human nature to be selfish, self serving, self determining what is good and evil to suit self, and being of course divisional in nature just as other animals are territorial.
Were it not for the fact we are also capable of receiving and acting upon spiritual nature we would be no different or remarkable than the rest of the animal kingdom. But there is no excuse for our self serving behaviour once we have been taught that this world of our making and our traditional ways are upside down/backwards to the way/Kingdom/will of God. Yet man, even knowing and having been taught otherwise, (especially by Jesus) still prefer to ignore the teachings that go contrary to our animalistic ways, as we for the most part self justify remaining animalistic/worldy in nature by creating religions that allow us to avoid God's will while saying Lord Lord. Besides, God's ways are not politically or personally expedient to the non-spiritual side of mankind.
Woe to these who refuse to walk in their fellow man's shoes. Woe to these who claim God is territorial in their world when He sent His Son to proclaim His only territory was of the Kingdom and under His Kingdom (rule), not under ours.
These are the people who wander about seeking strife and division, claiming how great we are or can be (at the expense of others), acting in the same instinctive ways as the pigs, but unlike the pigs no longer with any excuse to do so having eaten of the tree of knowledge, and more importantly, having been told to repent of the animal nature in favour of allowing the spiritual nature to work through us as Jesus demonstrated.
Grace yes, exists in being given a second chance. But that chance needs to be taken by living accordingly to God's will, not our own. Saying we need do nothing reminds me of the serpent that teased, 'Ye shall not surely die:'
2 Peter 2: 21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
Jeremiah 6:10 To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of the LORD is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it.
Isaiah 30:9 That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD:
Jeremiah 32:33 And they have turned unto me the back, and not the face: though I taught them, rising up early and teaching them, yet they have not hearkened to receive instruction.
2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; (seeking to make their version of Christianity and their world great again)
Matthew 13:15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. (ignoring conversion while proclaiming grace and Lord Lord)

It is indeed sad that some, failing to convince others to ignore the truth Jesus spoke (in favour instead of self serving human theologies), will simply choose to melt away into self imposed oblivion and exile. Yet being unable to withdraw from traditional human rebellious nature against the will of God and in true human style, they will eventually once again return and carry on as before. It is a shame that their ears and eyes remain closed, done so perhaps at God's will. Done perhaps so that their self perceived enemies that they mock may stand out in contrast to worldly ways, so that the mocked's repetition of God's words and not man's, may stand out and be heard as small voices in a Christian wilderness.
Still, even God I doubt would deny them the opportunity/choice to change and promote His will rather than mankind's. Unfortunately, scripture says more will turn away towards man's will and theologies than return to God's will as the end of days near, for patriotism to the will and ways of man have become so much more dear to them in today's world than the teachings of Jesus which go contrary to human will.
Once upon a time before the Reformation, the people were focused on the will of the Church. With the Reformation that power hold was somewhat released, or more appropriately, scattered, but the focus was still upon Christianity and the contradictions within it, not so much upon the world. Today with the decline of Christianity, the focus has become more on the political world and predominantly self, especially with the advent of the internet, the new Tower of Babel. The purpose of scattering humans after Babel has increasingly become defeated, and the old threat has returned in a global society able to manipulate all of mankind rather than pockets. The Adversary has once again convinced people to accept his kingdoms or support them, while the Kingdom of God for over 1900 years still remains on the back burner.
The Pharisees showed us how their worldly view and religion clouded their ability to see and understand what Jesus taught, seeking to preserve human religion and power rather than open the gates to the Kingdom, and how sects, both major and minor within Christianity until this day, have sadly done the same. The worldly nature of man is hard to overcome, especially for Christians who have read by Jesus' words to follow the will of God instead.
Faced with conflict, they revert back to that which they have known and felt secure with since birth. A majority faced with this conflict, have instead found comfort in sects of 'Christianity' that allow them to feel secure in allegiance with the will of mankind while believing God's will applies only in a world to come. For them conversion means only when the world of man has nothing left physically to offer them. They think they have found a way to have it both ways. Sadly for most it is then too late, for those in the books are of the Kingdom of God, not those living true to the world of man, the Adversary's world.
Matthew 23:13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.

We are all familiar with the word media, especially in this day and age. Media is an abbreviation of to mediate, or in other words present or moderate in an unbiased or non-partisan way. This can certainly not be said of most news media today who have forgotten their role is to present the who, what, when, where, why rather than opinion to tickle the ears of the divisive. But today's version is more attractive and profitable.
The same can be said of Christianity. Jesus comes and in no uncertain terms presents the Gospel of the Kingdom and the will of God. Man true to form, creates a religion that rather than presenting the facts Jesus presented, seeks to present opinion and philosophy, dividing man between a few that justify God vs a majority seeking to justify self, just as news media does today. Man doing what man does, in this case turning the will of God into yet another way to self justify the will of man. Christianity as we know it was built to also be more attractive as a world power and to be more profitable. The traditions of man and the Adversary never change. God unifies, man divides.
Today we have, even more so than originally intended, a religion that resembles cable news battles tickling the ears of their followers rather than mediating the human condition and presenting God's will without man trying to make it of service to self. If it were to teach as intended the outroar from the self righteous/self serving Lord Lords would be deafening.
