It is quite common in the evangelical world, especially among the religious right, to hear the term from Jesus, 'shake the dust off your feet', in reference to walking away from those they see as adversarial to their politics, partisan religion or their love of the will of man in economics or nation building.
The difference is that Jesus and His followers were promoting the will of God, not the will of man. He directed His followers to leave behind the worldly who are loyal to the will of man for they have already chosen and had their only reward.
Sadly the trend here for many has always been to listen to the will of man while using God as a means to justify that will. Most often it is the result of teachings of those who preceded them. It's a shame so many nice people here over the years have refused to 'just let go' of the will of man, especially when their eternity depends on it. Jesus and the Father did not set us free of quarantine to carry on what condemned us in the first place. That is why some will move on and many won't.
You will be missed in the Kingdom but I am sure you will be happy wherever you go for now and clutch onto that of this world you have been taught by man to hold dear... free of the reminders man's ways are not God's ways as you continue to fool yourselves and build fictional walls. It's a shame when His teachings fall upon the deaf ears of Lord Lords who prefer to associate with the lost humans who accepted worldly kingdoms from the Adversary and think that theirs is the better way, putting power over people. Divisive and aggressive contrary to God's will. Adversarial just like their worldly father.
It is with love I say... Just let go. But then again, God's plan is sound as scripture shows... for what would be the sense of having these supporters of the will of man within the Kingdom? They would be lost and out of place in a world of God's making when nothing which they hold dear here, exists there.
Last chance. Hate the world man has created in man's own image through the self serving misuse of the knowledge of good and evil, created in the confines of the place we were cast into from the Garden to keep us from tainting anything else. Strive to have man's world hate you as you now hate it. Make the Kingdom great again. Love all neighbours as self. His will, not man's. It's the only way out of this self defeating trap we have built now that a gate has been opened.

It is a shame about the ever increasing violence within the US. It seems to me that with a roughly 80% claiming to be Christian in census or polls, then why the bewilderment and questions asked as to why this is happening? Do they not understand the scripture about reaping what is sown? Divide and destabilize and ye shall be divided and destabilized. Not by the actions of others but as a result of your own. Simple.
These events happen everywhere in some way for one reason or another, but the US is getting way more than it's share over the last decade as civil unrest and protest has been replaced by personal anger and violence, partially fuelled by the internet. The only ones who ultimately benefit are those in power who are slowly implementing a surveillance and police state, suggesting at every incident, convenient or staged, more surveillance and armed authority to monitor every aspect of life including schools and places of worship. And the fearful go right along with it inadvertently increasing their fear level even more.
The more destabilization created around the world, the more divided and destabilized the US itself will become, and not just politically. God said so. And the division and destabilization at home in the US is not the result of actions of others but as a result of your own, unlike what is done to other countries. Just a case of reaping what is sown as scripture states.
History shows that nothing changes when it comes to the ways of man, and the days of former glory are coming to an end as did happen to every great nation before and will happen to the ones in the future, unless a reversal is made by whatever nation is crumbling.
Btw.. not trying to get into a nationalistic debate. Personally, allegiances are not to human leadership of this world, for all fall short even though some throughout time do, although rarely, come close. Yet I will have to admit that I wouldn't be a little surprised if Christian noses got out of joint. Like other faiths within the US all have all been groomed, especially over the last one hundred years, to put country before Kingdom.
Sorry. The Bible is clear. It is Kingdom before country. His Kingdom against the world of man. Not country against country, or Kingdom against any one country. It is the will of God against the will of man. We reap what we sow.

A man comes along and tells you He has a message from God about the 'Kingdom', both a place and a way of leadership. He says man has it all backwards to the ways of God and His Kingdom. He gives one way to put things right way round by saying love neighbour as self, says your choice and walks away.
For someone without religion, what would be their take on that? For someone with religion, would they find conflict? Can anyone hear and understand those words clearly without conflict or would they first have to clear their minds of what they have been taught, either by the world of man or by religion?
Hint.. the most common reaction by man would be to self justify the ways of man by using this God as an ally, while others would build a religion of power (ally or leader) containing all sorts of philosophies (theology) about how man could build and control that Kingdom in earth. Do either remain true to the simple message or do they needlessly misdirect and clutter?

It seems to me that while people are squabbling over the right religion or denomination, the right politics, the right sexual preference, the right race or skin colour and so on, they forget that all of mankind is fallen and there is NO 'right' in the ways of man. Man merely finds fault in others (including going so far as to using God to self justify their outlooks) simply to self delude themselves that they are somehow better than others.
The desire to be better is there but the way to do so is useless if the means is created by man's thinking. There is only one way to betterment and that way is of God, not man. Love all neighbours in the world as self. The world or nations will never be great again otherwise. Actually the nations or world of man never were great, especially in the eyes of God. They all were and are built upon the human ideal of gain at the expense of others (with the odd temporary blip where they actually promised short lived allegiance to the will of God). The greater the nation/empire, be it physical or financial, the greater the oppression of others in order to be so.
It all boils down to the only sin there is, which we are all guilty of... putting our will before God's... which of course leads to justifying what is best for self before others, gain at the expense of others, redefining good and evil to self justify and self delude. All so called abominations or evils or injustices are a result of such thinking and actions but are not the root. Only the root need be addressed.
This is the teaching behind the Good News (Gospel) of the Kingdom, the change we must choose to make in order to reverse our rebellious nature, regardless of stumbles that follow along the way, common in any pioneering effort. We need to change in order to be born into a new way of thinking and living which models the Kingdom (or by way of new thinking and living, be reborn into a new nature which is the default way of the Kingdom to come). No reversal of allegiance? No admission. Born of the Kingdom which Jesus proclaimed, not of the world of mankind and their mentor, the Adversary.
We must break ourselves free of this cocoon of humanity we have built. We have been given the alternative and option thanks to the work and sacrifice of Jesus. He opened the door. He did not save those who will not change.

Yet once again it is a time when a nation, along with an overestimated proportion of people, recognize a fallen former leader. This being a Christian forum, it couldn't hurt to look at it from a supposed Christian angle rather than through the default eyes of man. Please do so while the PR machines churn out dusted off platitudes designed to use grief to keep alive allegiance to the ever threatened spirit and concept of power over the masses. Please do so while other elites constantly queue to step in to fill vacuums in a human world of man's creation, not God's. Nothing is ever as it seems if you believe what Jesus, not religion, taught. Please set aside hard-wired human minion defences in order to see it through God's eyes, not through our own.
Once again, taking advantage of the current situation, a pre-programmed world briefly recognizes the recorded 'good' deeds of a fallen individual, a former tool of the system. A process done time and time again using all nations and leaders as the opportunity arises. Used to promote the human system of self interest and gain at the expense of others as if it were some golden ideal to be striven for. Human delight found in a world adversarial to the will of God. In reality, it applies to us all to some degree.
Anyone who understands Jesus' (not always Christianity's) message should honestly ask themselves how this system promoting opportunity compares to the will of God. What does God think of the whole situation? No doubt He being ever constant and unchanging as the Lord Lords like to parrot, what He thinks is what He has always thought about man's bloated opinion of ourselves.
Do the openly public deeds eulogized by a rabid press represent following God's will, or simply the will of adversarial man and the system? Is God saying job well done, or seeing it as just another trumped up example under the spotlight of the moment of how mankind continues to self justify deeds by abusing the knowledge of good and evil, reformatting it's meaning to suit whatever purpose at the time and as a means of abusing power, calling it disrespectful to say otherwise. In the end, what is it being glorified? A man, any man? Or simply the system that ignores the bad and calls whatever it likes good, calling it respect?
Does God ignore what man chooses to ignore? Consider the pre-planned deaths of hundreds of thousands along with the accompanied destruction in the wake of one man's power (continued through a dynasty). Power misused the same way as always throughout history in the name of contrived goodness, for gain, both personal and for others of the same ilk. The only system known to many. A system often chosen by those who know but reject the system offered by God.
Does God forgive those unwilling to relinquish their will for His, many while claiming they do His work? Does God set the example by flourishing at the expense of others, as these humans do? Will these human actions akin to those of the Adversary's be neutralized come Judgement Day by other actions whereas these false mini-gods encourage the masses to do the good that these elites refuse to do themselves (save for tax advantage)? Are any humans not vulnerable to follow and defend such misbehaviour?
Mankind loves to glorify our self serving nature while the churches, often afraid for their own existence, for the most part keep God's will under wraps, or proclaiming His will only necessary for the masses but not the leadership. Do as we say but not as we do. Think! Did Jesus set the same example? No. All this done while religion allows or aligns with man to use God to justify our un-neighbourly deeds. Staying silent for the most part on how we are to change from the will of man to follow the will of God as commanded and to love ALL neighbours as self, not just those neighbours of our like-minded tribes. That latter concept of rejecting the world which man had built upon our selfish principles, is blatant sacrilege in the eyes of those who glorify self interest.
It is always amazing to watch as the human race scrambles to self justify the hypocrisy of our ideals compared to those of God. This while many claim allegiance to His throne rather than those our own making. As the current brief flurry of glorifying accolades flood the senses while a family grieves (condolences at their personal loss, but don't take it as a sign of defending their system's ways), it becomes blatantly obvious what is being glorified.
Goodness by God's standards? Hardly! Only human standards as usual. The ability to rise above other man in the pursuit of gain at the expense of others. This, while they in misdirected passive aggressiveness, promote to the public that others than they, these leaders themselves, should seek to live kind and charitable lives as commanded by God.
Come Judgement Day, will man be judged by the standards of human self determination and justification? Or will the judgement be by the standards of God? Will man's rules concerning goodness apply or will only God's? So much for your worldly allegiances. Jesus was right. For those loyal to man's will alone, please enjoy the accolades received or given at times like this, be they for others or yourself... for it will be the only final reward due they and their supporters.
God, His Son and the Bible are clear. Unfortunately, Christianity not so much. There is no grey as is presented by theology. There is no Forgiveness Day (it was granted already with a choice to mankind as a whole... but not to individuals thinking as a result of a Saviour's sacrifice that they are off the hook without change). There is only Judgement Day for those previously given the chance to change wills and act accordingly. From the first chapter of the OT the teachings have been black and white. Will of man or will of God.
The self will of man resulted in our rejection by God in the beginning. He may have loved but no longer liked us, sending us into discount outlet quarantine to reap what we sow against each other. To live with angst fraught with constant back and forth promises of failed repentance as demonstrated by the Hebrew people and their predecessors. A later reconciliation still to come to fruition that came with a caveat that Jesus commanded. That we must reject for life and not when convenient, the will of man as being superior to the will of God (which is loving neighbour as self). A way of life and not a series of deeds to offset our self will. Showing it until our demise without waiver as being our chosen default setting, in spite of occasional recognized glitches along the way from which we hopefully learn the wisdom of putting God's will before our own. Will the thousand points of blight which we have been encouraged to possess and live by, be defended successfully in the end by our nature of self justification? Or will they be washed away as we learn to love all neighbours as self, not just those allied in seeking gain at the expense of others.
As another worldly leader falls to the wayside (having done so in more ways than one as most others), it is time to reflect upon the reality God presented us with about our nature and chose which we will defend, self or selflessness, spirit of the flesh or spirit of the Kingdom. Use the hoopla of this time of mourning, both of a lost life but also of a pillar of a system anti-Christ in nature, to do some good for yourself. Reverse your thinking back into it's original setting. It's allowed. The Apostle John once wrote a book of clandestine and scathing rebuke towards a Caesar called Revelation based on God's will vs man's. Shakespeare said also.
"Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears; I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him. The evil that men do lives after them; The good is oft interred with their bones; So let it be with Caesar."
Show respect for a life over, but be discerning of the life lived as to whether respect towards their actions is warranted, warranted based upon the will of God. Would you cut satan the same slack for having done the same self serving deeds? Learn to get over useless worldly allegiances. They serve no purpose in the Kingdom. Think! A leader's actions most often benefit the will behind the system of the adversarial world of man and not the will of God. Otherwise we wouldn't need a Messiah to overcome them or the system. Would we?
Discern which will is which. One belongs to the Adversary, the other to God. Live and praise accordingly. Can you change the system, the world, a nation, a society? Not likely. Could you perhaps do as Jesus suggested, let them be and just change yourself? Who will stand out more in the crowd?? Who will benefit the most in the end?

From the moment they get up, people should spend just one day analysing everything that they practice or see during that day. Using discernment as to whether it is an act of the will of man or following the will of God.
I think they will find during the day as they get further away from home and family, that the further from the will of God they will find themselves becoming or seeing in those about them, especially if topped off by watching the evening news. With the next morning comes a new beginning to start fresh and get it right, but most often purposely following the pattern of the day before.
Of course most couldn't even tell you what the will of man is... or the will of God is for that matter. Most haven't even heard of the Adversary, let alone what it means to be adversarial or to whom. If they have heard of the devil, it is usually some foolish concept of this horned creature with a pitchfork forcing us to make bad decisions. Complete nonsense. No body forces us to do anything. We chose to on our own because it suits our human desires. It is our default nature.
The will of man is choosing to do things that are self serving, self justifying them along the way by reformatting the meaning of good or evil to suit the deed, Seeking gain most often at the expense of others. The will of God is simply loving neighbour as self.
Go ahead. Spend a day analysing everything you do or that others do from family to associates to authority to all religion, and especially to what's on the news. No need to first become smothered with theology of any religion. Just choose for yourself which is the better system. Hopefully you will see how useless and futile the will of man actually is even though the whole world of man is built upon it.
If you chose to reject man's will which is the cause of all hurt and strife, keep in mind that the others out there are not enemies, but merely 'you' before you woke up to God's reality. Then if you so choose, you can dig deeper into the man who gave you the simple commandment to put God's will before our own and love neighbour as self. That way the will of man which permeates everything, won't interfere in clearly seeing the Truth before seeking more info for yourself from an unadulterated source (which btw isn't the religion which man has made).

It's called Free Will.... God gave it to us, and some of us have made a mess of things on our own.
So I guess what you are saying in short is this; we should give back our Free Will to God.
Who else knows better then the Good Lord Himself, what is good for us.
Does this mean you are willing to give back your "Free Will" to Father, the Almighty one, the I AM?
Is anyone willing to give up their Free Will?!

Why do what you proposed?
Instead just use 'free will' to decide between will of man or will of God. Quite simple.
The problem is most don't know there are two choices, and many who do spend all their time self justifying their avoidance of doing God's will.. still preferring their own will as they say Lord Lord.

Some have more faith in the Lord then their own self.
If one can't over come, one seeks the Lord.

If one seeks Him, then like migrants, they are expected to leave the ways they are escaping behind.

What ways?
Give examples.

As I said earlier... The will of man is choosing to do things that are self serving, self justifying them along the way by reformatting the meaning of good or evil to suit the deed. Seeking gain most often at the expense of others.

Not much discernment or effort involved that way. I'll make it simpler for you. Simply look at everything in one day as mentioned above to see if the deed or words love neighbour as self.

Gospel of the Kingdom...
Don't forget that there is a twofold meaning of Kingdom. It also means following the will of the leader. Kingdom means leadership as in the Kingdom of God. His leadership... hence His will in earth. (Thy Kingdom come... Thy will be done in earth as it is in Heaven)
People that have a hard time accepting the traditional sense of Kingdom should find no way to reject the will of the Leader which is love neighbour as self. Two ways of looking at the same thing but this one focuses directly on the will of the Leader vs the will of man. (For Thine is the Kingdom... the power and the glory)
Yet people including Christians still reject the will of God, preferring the will of man as is evident in their daily lives, their governments, and by obviously what is shown on the evening news.
