Good morning everyone,
Got another TV antenna that's supposed to have a 150 mile reception range. One that was cheaper was advertised to have a range of 1000 miles was too suspicious of being a fraud. Of course this one might be, too.
Chilly forecast for today, which can be good for doing yard work.

Keep us posted on how it performs please.

I told 'em it would be difficult, but they're coming every Saturday to help put new siding on the old homestead! We divided up into four teams, each team doing a wall. The south wall is the worst. So far that team is having to shim EVERY row of siding. Well, the west team has it rough too. They had to overhaul one of the porches and they decided to change the design of the other porch. The east side will be done in matter of minutes tomorrow. The north wall, my team, are up to the windows. This is a two story house and we are doing the first floor first. No one has started on the second floor. It's like Bubba says, "If it ain't fun, don't do it." We're having a good time competing while still doing a good job. Some of these guys are pro's. One works building construction and another used to own a Construction Company while several have worked for him. Everyone is from our church so the fellowship is good, and no temper tantrums either. We just keep plugging along. By the way, my house was built in the 1889. No rules, no inspections, no problem, just do what they wanted to do.

Good morning everyone,
Been too busy to try the antenna yet.
Today we should go boating, although tomorrow will be warmer at 80°F.
Got our lawn and my buddy's front lawn mowed yesterday.

Didn't do much at all today. Just a little blowing out on the back driveway with my new Skil electric blower. Neat little instrument...gets the job done and charges right back up.
Had a gentleman replace the rear entry door a few days ago. Then I went in to check it out and found that the door now opens from left to right and bumps the freezer, instead of opening right to left so as to bump a bare wall, as it was before. SO the gentleman will now be coming back to make it go the other way AND to add the new screen door Kimbu and I got for it at Lowe's yesterday. He can't be back until late next week, though. I wish now I'd been keeping an eye on the carpentero, since he apparently doesn't have much sense of things like that. Bet he would not have it like that in his house, though. Oh, well...

Good morning everyone,
Got the antenna mostly up, but then my wife and her sister wanted to go out on the boat. Of course, I relented. I'll finish installing the antenna and reinstalling the weather station today before another boat ride.
I paid the neighbor kid that moved the pile of stone for my buddy that can't lift over 10 pounds for the rest of the year.

Good morning everyone,
I just didn't want to be seen as talking to myself. I do it, I just didn't want to be seen like that.
The antenna is working well, although the remote for turning it doesn't work. The button on the base does the trick, though, and that seems to be a one-time setting.

No problem there WRINC, I talk to myself too. There are times that I need professional advice.

I talk to myself, too, sometimes. One day somebody asked me why. I said well, I like to talk to intelligent people and I like to hear intelligent people talk, so that takes care of it.
I stole that one from "somebody" on the radio long, long ago.

I officially retired today. Started working when I was 14 and I'm 65 now. 51 year career comes to a close.

Good morning everyone,
Glad to see all of you who can make it here a lot of the time.
Summer is ending. They pick up the boat today, and on Monday they tear out the old patio and pour a new one.

Dunno if retirement is congratulateable or not. Looking back, mine was not. I retired at the beginning of '95, and, I, too, started official work at 14, so from '48 to '95 is about the span. What's that....47 years? Oh, well....I din'wanna....it just "came" because I was entirely too white. Go back and ask any of "my kids," though, and it sure seems they thought my "retirement" was a mistake made by a lot of different-colored thugs who eventually got what they deserved.
But FORK it! So far I've outlived all of them except MexSatan, as I'm dubbing him...the Backstabber General. From pictures I've seen on his daughter's profile (She and I have remained loving friends, by the way), he has to be somewhere close to death....he certainly LOOKS ready. Fact is, he LOOKS 90, while lots of folks tell me I DON'T.
When he dies, I'm going to send a "GOOD RIDDANCE!" card to the Universe.
Then The Universe will probably send a "FINALLY!!!" card when I cork off.
Shoots me! 😃

Hi all, been really busy at work and then had some other issues pop up…life goes on.
A family friend texted me tonight that her husband passed away yesterday. It’s so sad as I think they’ve been married for over 68 years. They helped my parents out so much when they were alive in their later years and they’ve taken me to several medical appointments. What I’ll miss the most is the Saturday morning breakfasts at Perkins…they just won’t be the same.
