Dec. 23, 1954, the first successful human kidney transplant took place at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston as a surgical team removed a kidney from 23-year-old Ronald Herrick and implanted it in Herrick’s twin brother, Richard.

Astronauts go through space toilet training. Going to the bathroom without gravity in space requires astronauts to learn to use the vacuum suction. Former space toilets were four inches wide, about a third of the size that we're used to. The new generation space toilets are closer to what's found at home. It's made of titanium and costs a mere 23 million dollars. Who knew?
