soutxed, okay, 3 inches sounded like a lot. Glad it didn't overwhelm the system. If you need rain, this storm is good news. On Wednesday, with one week to go in the school year, I let the students pick a chocolate bar as they got off the bus, with 9 different kinds to choose from. Some knew what they wanted and grabbed on without hesitation. I didn't want a game 7, but there is one. Lot's of people want a Canadian team to win the cup, since it's been so long and so do I, just not Edmonton. Take care everyone.

Patty--We have those drivers here also. As a retired driver's education teacher, it still bothers me. We also have a leash law, but it takes animal control too long to arrive. A neighbor was walking his dog the other day and a cat ran by and the dog got away. It was kind of fun to watch. Lucky you that you didn't swallow the crown. Heard it happened to some people.
Sneakers--As i find paper to shred, i do it right away. With my evil BIL who I think would pay someone to go through my garbage, i can't be too careful.
Uncle--That is good of you to let children pick candy. Not sure we can do it here as there is some kind of law about sweets in school due to the number of diabetic children we have. Oilers have proven a decent team deserving of being in the finals.
Spent most of the afternoon taking the defensive driving course. Hope to finish the six hours in one day but couldn't do it. Will finish it today and then wait for the paperwork to send to the judge in Woodsboro.
Had planned to go to a local club to hear a band made up of HEB retirees. Missed a couple of their gigs due to family issues. But the club had to cancel them as they play on the patio and at the scheduled start time, it was pouring down rain. Went to another club with friends and had a good time. However, wife's order of fish tacos has very little fish and the hamburger I ate kept me up half the night. We got 1.1 inches of rain according to web site Ed showed me. Thanks Ed.
Sounbd tech is out today so I will be doing sound and rookie on the cameras.

Sneakers: It is good to get rid of stacks of paper. I tend to shred a lot before it builds up fast and then I cannot find anything. I found a family picture, a magnifying glass, and a couple of ink pens that got buried. I'm at the age where I need the magnifying glass. In this dump that I am residing in at the moment, there are big black spiders and earwigs. I have used bug spray to no avail. Some will die off but the ones that don't come right in my door. You aren't using the good stuff for bug spray. Order a bottle of Wisdom TC Flowable Insecticide. You will need a cheap sprayer to dilute the concentrate, Wisdom TC is what AJ tells me to buy for the house.

i'm making progress. Shredded stuff from 2022, I thought I only had stuff that dated from 2023. Got my list of diagnoses from Ignite Medical Resort. It goes to half a page. Not going to do that much this morning, Cousin Martha's church service starts in about an half hour. AJ is used to me watching it by now, probably figures he doesn't have to go but he took Chelsea once. Chelsea was paranoid, she thought all the songs were about her. I thought they were all about sinners in general.

Saturday afternoon, I listened to SiriusXM (don't remember what channel).
Had pastrami and Provolone on Pepperidge Farm Honey White bread for lunch.
At three o'clock, I turned on the Astros-Orioles game. Astros won 5-1.
Nobody got the snail mail yesterday. Reminded Isaiah to get it but he kept playing video games.
Early evening news was over by the time the game was finished.
More listening to SiriusXM. Didn't call the family last night. Did more paper shredding.
At nine o'clock, I turned on the FOX 26 late local news.
At ten o'clock, I switched to KPRC Channel 2. Watched the news and part of "Saturday Night Live." To bed a bit after eleven o'clock.
AJ didn't do supper last night, I fed myself salami and Provolone cheese on Pepperidge Farm Honey White bread while watching the ten o'clock news.
Made some comfort stops in the middle of the night.
Woke up for the day just before five in the morning.
Watched ABC 13. Saw the First Methodist Houston broadcast and then "In Touch." After that, four hours of morning news. Been drinking sugar-free tea, made a comfort stop before Cousin Martha's Church service. Also put the sugar-free tea back in the refrigerator.
Took me a bit to find Cousin Martha's streaming broadcast, it had been going for a couple of minutes by the time it popped up in YouTube. The sermon was about the Prodigal Son and the response of the older brother when the younger brother came back. There was no response today to the altar call.
Turned on SiriusXM The Message Sunday Praise. Will listen to it for another half-hour. Then I will switch to the Astros-Orioles pregame. Haven't yet taken my morning pills but will right after I send this. I'm getting hungry but then I get to wait half an hour after taking my morning pills.

I had to keep reminding myself this weekend that there are still 3 days of school left. I'm almost on summer break mode. soutxed, if I took a school bus to school, I'd love a chocolate bar with one week to go. The first time I did that, I was told I was "the greatest school bus driver ever". Not sure if that is true, but a bribe sure helps. Neither team in the Stanley Cup final is a Cinderella team. Should be a good game 7 Monday night and it's on ABC too. Finishing the defensive driving course in one day would been a bonus. Hopefully your second day won't be too long. The Astros are getting closer to a winning record. The all-star break isn't far away. Perhaps they will get some of their injured players back by then. Take care everyone.

Sneakers: Thanks for the name of the bug spray. I have to be careful what I use as I have a parrot in this 2 room dump. It may be fine to use outside in the hallway and around the doors. But I need something inside, as well.
Soutxed: What happened to the people who swallowed a crown? My crown is heavy as it has the post, core and crown altogether. There is not a lot of room for the cement. I put a lot of the cement on the post. It seems to stay in just fine for now. I hate driving. The roads were not even busy at that time of that near miss the other day. I still think about how close I came to possibly getting killed or severely injured.
Uncle: I know around here that bus drivers would not be able to give candy bars to students. There are the peanut allergies, sugar issues (diabetes), etc. But I think it is a great idea that you are allowed to do it and that you do. Celebrate on Wednesday on your half day. You will be able to sleep a little longer now in the morning. That is always a good thing.
Have a good week Everyone!!!

AJ's ex (the mother of AJ's two boys) is staying here while she gets things straightened out in her life. Every time I take my walker out of the business room door, she sees if I have anything going to the kitchen and if I do she takes it there for me. She also got the mail when I couldn't find either of the boys to do it for me. The only thing she can't do is go to the bathroom for me by proxy.
Watched the Astros and the Orioles play this afternoon. Astros won 8-1. Astros get Monday off, no watching baseball tomorrow. The Astros will play the Colorado Rockies starting Tuesday. Rockies have a worse record than the Astros do.
Told Alexa to play music. Got a selection of classic rock songs. Currently "Bad Moon Rising" by Creedence Clearwater Revival.
Watched the ABC 13 five o'clock national and local news.
Wondered if the IRS had made any progress on my Federal income tax return. Was surprised to discover that my $2654 refund has been approved already. I filed last Tuesday afternoon. Guess they can go pretty fast because they probably don't get a lot of returns in June. The "Where's My Refund?" app said I should receive it in my checking account by Thursday. The Escape has been broken since my birthday in late April. That's one of the possible uses for the money.
Got the E-statement for my HEB Signature VISA this morning.
Got my check register spreadsheet updated for the first 23 days of June. Had a typo in it where it wouldn't balance. Discovered I'd mis-entered a deposit in late May.
Voted my Green Bay Packers shareholder proxy. Will have to remember the annual meeting is at Lambeau Field the afternoon of July 22nd. Never watched one streaming. Only annual meeting I have ever been to was one for Texaco when they held it in Houston. Interesting morning. More protestors outside the meeting venue than there were stockholders inside the meeting venue.
Will be glad to get some money, the most I have in one place is a $20 bill. Have to last to Wednesday morning when I will get my Social Security Retirement payment for June. Will also get my Boeing pension on the first of June, a week from tomorrow.
Only threw away a few pieces of mail today.
Tomorrow, I'll have my Monday home health visit. Tuesday is trash day. And Wednesday will be busy, starting out with an 8:45 AM appointment with Dr. Clause.
Haven't heard what's for supper yet. Going to get up and get our last jug of sugar-free tea. They're on sale until July 2nd two for $6 at HEB.

Patty--I think one of them didn't realize they had as the crown came off while eating. Maybe take the parrot outside when you spray. But then it might fly away. But I know it works. The problem drivers here are the large SUV and pick-up drivers, but not all of them. Also, on the expressway, there are those who drive 40 MPH in the 70 MPH zone. One thing about driving in or through Houston, everyone on the expressways drives the same speed. It may be 10 MPH over the speed limit, but it moves smoothly except rush hour.
Uncle--Finished the class yesterday. Knew most of the stuff so it was somewhat boring. Got my certificate but waiting on the state to send a copy of driving record. That comes snail mail. In most states, due to peanut and other allergies, there is a limit what teachers and other employees can feed children. Basically, classroom parties are a thing of the past. I do see school buses parked at some of the pizza places, but I guess it is okay as children pick what they want to eat. Looking forward to game 7, but it is on at the same time as the College World series game where Texas A&M is one of the teams.
Sneakers--We had a problem with our streaming at first. Part was mine but our internet was an issue for about 5 minutes. Doing sound, I forgot to turn on sound to the streaming, but realized it soon. Had a problem with the hard of hearing device as it was getting a lot of static. Will let the head tech know. I think we have another. Lady who uses it was not a happy person. Tell girlfriend all those songs are about all of us.
After church, we tried out a new restaurant many friends have been bragging about. Was good but they only have brunch on Sunday. Will try it on a week day.
Wife has eye doctor appointment this morning.

Last night, I told Alexa to play some music and I got classic rock.
AJ is very frustrated because the wheel bearings in the Tundra need replacing and he's short of money. His usual sources aren't coming through and I can't either. Last night, I got to fix my own supper. A couple of salami and Swiss cheese sandwiches. I've got $14 in one checking account, $4 in the other one, and a $20 bill to last to Wednesday.
Went to bed last night about 9:30 PM, got up about 4:00 AM.
My home health nurse usually contacts me by this time on visit days. But not today.
Got two prescriptions to be filled at HEB Pharmacy. One, I have a two day supply. The other, I am out of. They are both from the same doctor. IIRC, both of them are free after insurance pays their part. The one that I'm out of I tried refilling a few days ago but HEB lost the refill in their system. They didn't call me with any feedback.
Trash can in business room is almost full. It will be full after I empty the paper shredder bin.
Had lunch. Ate all the bread and all the cheese, and all but two slices of salami. AJ's ex is going for groceries soon.

Uncle--Is this the last school day? Panthers win the Stanly Cup, not sure how you feel about that. Was an interesting playoff. I really like the custom of every player getting to carry the cup around the arena after the game.
Sneakers--Did HEB find your prescription? When CVS took over a locally own pharmacy here that the nursing home where mother was, they messed up a couple of her prescriptions. Along with other issues, I changed her pharmacy on the advice of the director of nurses.
Eye doctor visit went well except they want to do some kind of treatment on wife as there appears to be a chance of glaucoma forming, but there is no hurry as it will be done in October.
Mowed the lawn late yesterday then watched the Texas Aggies lose the College World Series and the Panthers win the Stanley Cup.
Also talked to daughter who told me that the Medical Examiner in Corpus Christi still has not released the results of the Stopsy on our son. So no death certificate and our daughter in law cannot get his death benefits from the VA nor the money from his bank account. Remember she is from Ecuador and seems ready to go back. "This is America?" she asks.
Getting overdue oil change for Escape this morning. Not sure about the rest of the day.

Turns out that my doctor was rejecting my refill request because I haven't been to see him in a while. I am not a happy camper. Neither HEB nor the doctor's office contacted me to notify me of this. I only found this out when I called HEB. Fortunately, I can get in for an appointment Thursday afternoon. Get to limp along with two of four blood pressure medicines until then.

patty7841, back in January or February, I started asking my students or their parents if they had a peanut allergy. None of them did. I am looking forward to being able to sleep in starting Thursday. That is also the day they start working on my next crown. It will be two weeks later that they will put the real thing in. soutxed, sometimes boring is acceptable. Glad all you have to do is wait for the copy of driving record. My personal crisis was adverted last night when the Florida Panthers won their first Stanley Cup. One of the Florida player, Matthew Tkachuk, who used to play for the Calgary Flames, one of my teams, apparently said on camera, something meaning he wouldn't let the Oilers win another Cup, as a favour to his former teams' fans, like me. Just to set the record straight, I'm more relived that Edmonton didn't win another cup, as compared to Florida winning their first. I don't mind the Panthers at all, but the Oilers are the arch rival of one of my teams. Did you watch the College World series game and some of game 7? I can see your interest in the CWS if one of your states schools is in it. Take care everyone.

Haven't written for about 27 hours.
Monday afternoon, I watched CNBC until the stock market closed.
Turned to the KPRC Channel 2 news from 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM.
Got mostly shredder food in the mail. The only thing that wasn't shredder food was a Medicare survey asking what I thought about my home healthcare. Can't think of any reason to fault it.
Definitely broke. Got $14 in one checking account and $4 in the other. And I gave AJ my $20 bill so he and Michelle could go to ALDI. All three credit cards are maxed out, but probably won't be in about 36 hours.
Last night, I went in my bedroom, stretched out on my bed, and listened to music. Called family, got cousins Janet and Martha.
About 8:30 PM, I went back in the business room. Michelle made Shake and Bake boneless chicken breast planks, potato wedges, and green beans from a can.
Stayed up watching the CW 39 news to about 9:30 PM, then went to bed.
Slept restlessly. Got up when I got my two one-liter bedroom urinals filled.
Went in the business room and watched the ABC 13 morning news. Went in and out of consciousness.
Krista the home health care nurse usually comes Monday but this week I didn't turn up on the schedule until Tuesday. She took my vital signs and rebandaged my left big toe. When Krista came to the door, Chalupa started barking and woke up AJ, who was not a happy camper. He forgets that I get to the door slowly and nobody else was up. Krista treated me in the dining room.
When I got done, I went back in the business room. Watched CNBC until eleven o'clock.
Reminded Isaiah today was trash day. He came back with a letter that was shredder food. The shredder gets fed any and all loan offers, and this one was definitely shredworthy because it had an APR over 100%. My debt management plan requires that I open no new loans until the program is over in 2028.
Watched ABC 13 between eleven and noon and KPRC Channel 2 to one o'clock.
Checked my refill requests at the HEB Pharmacy and they disappeared again. Called the pharmacy to find out my doctor rejected them because I had not been in for a while. News to me, neither the doctor nor the pharmacy contacted me. Was able to get in for an appointment late Thursday afternoon (4:15 PM). Would be able to afford UBER but AJ has nothing going on then.
We had no bread, lunchmeat, or cheese. AJ and Michelle went to ALDI. I ate an apple to tide me over until they got back with lunch. I had two bologna and Cheddar cheese sandwiches along with the apple. The only thing I'll say about the ALDI food is their sharp Cheddar is considerably less sharp than HEB's sharp Cheddar.
Got one piece of shredder food in the snail mail this afternoon. No desire to sign up for an air ambulance evacuation service from foreign countries.
Sat out in the dining room for a while and talked to Michelle and AJ's two youngest sons.
Got some sweet tea out of the refrigerator and went in the business room to type.
Main things I have left to do today are finish up the next hour of early evening news and watch the Astros play. Sometime during the game, Informed Delivery will become available and probably tomorrow's Social Security Retirement payment.
Going to be busy the rest of the week. Tomorrow morning, I have an appointment with Dr. Clause. I will probably ask AJ to take me to HEB afterwards because I'm going to have grocery money and I want some fruit. Thursday, I should get my Federal income tax refund and I have a cardiologist appointment in the late afternoon. Friday is trash day again (didn't think I had enough today to warrant throwing out a nearly empty bag) and a return visit from Nurse Krista.
We'll kick off July with my Boeing pension. Then, that's my last expected income to the 24th of July and Social Security Retirement again. In July, Discover Card will have a 5% rebate at conventional supermarkets, which beats the offer on my HEB Signature VISA.

Supper tonight was a chewy boneless steak covered with BBQ sauce, StoveTop Stuffing, and green beans. Michelle fixed it and brought it in to eat at my business room desk. Michelle does everything but go to the bathroom by proxy for me.
Watched the Astros-Rockies game. Astros won 5-2.
Got three pieces of mail for tomorrow in Informed Delivery. One for me, one for AJ, and one for a former resident "or current resident" which means me.
Got Social Security Retirement payment for June about nine o'clock. Paid the delinquent electricity and cell phone bills and have a bit over $600 left over. Going to go see Dr. Clause tomorrow, have AJ gas up the Tundra, and go buy some groceries at HEB. Asked AJ to figure out what he thinks we need. I'll buy more than that because I buy some stuff that I alone eat, like eight-ounce cans of fruit.
When the game was over, I turned on the CW 39 nine o'clock news in progress.
At ten o'clock, I turned on the KPRC Channel 2 news. Plan to take my bedtime pills at the next commercial break and go to bed when the news is over.
Tomorrow, Isaiah will no longer be a teenager. He'll be twenty. But for some reason, he was born on the 26th of June but his birth certificate has the 27th of June on it. Tripped up his 2023 income tax refund because he gave me the actual birthdate and the IRS wanted what was on his birth certificate for their data validation.
