Sneakers--Don't have an Alexa. Wanted to get one with a Best Buy gift card a few years ago but wife thought we could use something else. Then had a need for a new tablet. Sounds like you are getting along well with the staff. When BIL was in the nursing home last year, he was prescribed Norco also, but his daughter had Medical POA and told them to discontinue it as she thought it was deadly. Did the same with his Demetia medication. Finally his wife got the MPOA and he got the meds he needed.
Astros lost 1-0 yesterday.
At church I was talking about how we needed 7 takes when making the commercial. Another tech said you must be better behind the camera than in front. Had a really good day at the camera until pastor showed a video that wasn't showing up on the streaming. Took a few minutes to get the camera set to show the video off the sanctuary screen.
Went to eat at Cheders. Glad we didn't take crazy lady as waiter was a little inattentive at first. Last time we had one who was distracted she left a $1 tip.
Speaking of crazy lady, after her husband passed away, the house went to his oldest son with provision wife could live there without paying rent. There was also 80 acres of land surrounding the house which husband rented to farmers. But the son sold the land to developers. Last week developers started digging a ditch on neighbor's property destroying a fence in the process while neighbors were out of town. They went to the city to complain. Crazy lady concerned they might do the same and she has no confidence the city will do anything. Also, it appears they will be putting small houses which seems common down here. Then rent them to low-income people.
Everyone have a good week.

I am quite happy with mine in the hospital. I am on the floor above Labor and Delivery in Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital. Every time a new baby gets born, the PA system plays a little lullaby tune. I have heard it four times this morning. I absolutely love my Alexa. I’ll play music on it, ask it questions, have it do timers. Just checked Boeing stock, it’s down over 2% in the first two hours of trading today. Coca-Cola is down only 1.4%, but it was up over 2% in Friday’s trading. Meddlesome children with chemophobia making their parents suffer in the nursing home sucks.

Hello, soutxed. It's hard to imagine withholding pain meds to a parent. I watched the Yankee/Blue Jays game yesterday, and I'm not sure what I think of all the intentional walks to Aaron Judge over the weekend--3 more times yesterday, and once with two outs and no one on in the second inning!. It probably wouldn't be as bad if the pitcher had to actually throw 4 pitches. At least it would up his pitch count a little. Oh, well, the only way to stop it is for the hitters behind him to step up and drive in the runs. Church went well yesterday. They made a little over $600, which is fine for a little church. It all goes to the town's Women's Services, Men's Shelter, Free Clinic, and Christmas gifts for an "adopted family".
Hi, Sneakers. Hope things are going as expected, and that the pain is easing. Stocks are taking quite a beating today. It was a pleasant morning here, but the atmosphere is really juicy this afternoon. I just heard the first clap of thunder - all in all, a typical summer day.

The staff is getting ready to transition me elsewhere but where elsewhere is is up in the air. They were talking home but going daily to an infusion center. I can’t drive and I want AJ to be able to work as much as he can find. Can’t get in Ignite because they are full. Need to find another place and the hospital case manager is making inquiries. Saw Chelsea’s Mom, she works here at Methodist. She took care of me one time. Nurse gave me a Norco a couple of hours ago. Physical Therapy walked me around the room a bit and put me back in bed because I was getting lightheaded. Just had a Spiritual Care Volunteer visit my room. Just signed the consent form to get a Peripheral Indwelling Central Catheter installed so infusions are a lot easier to do. Third or fourth time I have had one. Got another Diet Coke on the way.

Went to grandson's birthday party yesterday and kept feeling an itch on my chest and figured it was a mosquito bite. On the way home we stopped at sister in law's to pick up Coco and of course my wife and her got chatty. My chest now not only itched but started hurting as well. I went in the bathroom and unbuttoned my shirt and looked at it in the mirror and didn't like what I saw. Called my wife (retired nurse) in to look at it and she said we needed to keep an eye on it.
Today it looked worse so I called my doctor's office and they didn't have any appointments available. When we had Mary at the emergency room for the concussion I texted my niece about the long wait (8 hours) since she works in that hospital system and she told me that there is a center in the next city over that doesn't have a wait. Didn't do us any good then but I went there today and I was the only patient there. The doctor wasn't overly concerned about the bite and prescribed a cream for it. It was a whopping $2.33 for it with insurance. It's really greasy so I figure I will be wearing a t-shirt to bed for the next week.
First visit to the ER with Medicare plan G and AARP United Health care supplemental so I will see how they do.

First visit to the ER with Medicare plan G and AARP United Health care supplemental so I will see how they do. It should either go to your Part B deductible or it gets paid in full. That’s what I get with my Plan G Medicare Supplement with Humana and all the Plan G plans are supposed to be the same.

The reunion went well. We got rain on Sunday, so no baseball game to finish off. I didn't get any trophies, which is good, as they are usually for last place. My partner and I had 0 wins and 2 losses in the Horseshoe tournament. Another partner and I had 2 wins and 2 losses in the Beer Pong tournament. In both cases, once you get two losses, you out. I won 3 of the 7 cribbage games, which it probably average. soutxed, I see the Astros and Rangers have their last games against each other this week. Texas took the first one in extra innings. Will Houston get one or two wins, if any? We shall see. Like Patty said, you do seem to take care of yourself. A lot better than some. lorando (NW PA), I hope your city's big summer event went well. They have that one a year here too. In July and once a year is enough. Police are always issuing lots of tickets. There were 78 people at the reunion, for at least part of the weekend. Lots show up on the Sunday for the cribbage tournament and the pot luck supper. Alberta has the provincial holiday the same as other provinces. It is just called something else in other provinces, if they even have a day. Some don't. It's called Heritage Day here. patty7841, my GPS unit only made one small mistake, but I caught it. Now and then, I like to change things to it has to recalculate the route. Had one problem. I fuelled up my car just before getting to the hotel. As I was waiting to check in at the front desk, I noticed my right hand was black. I must have got something on it from the fuel pump or when I used the squeegee to get the bugs off the windshield. First thing I did once I got the keys was I went up to the room and washed my hands. The was a surprise. Take care everyone.

Now out of Houston Methodist. Transferred to Brighton Senior Living in Webster. It’s a nursing and rehabilitation facility. Only negative thing about it is they expect you to use your diaper instead of giving you an alternate way to pee.
I now have a PICC (peripheral indwelling central catheter) for the next thirty days of IV antibiotics.
Don’t know how the food is because I had supper at the hospital.
AJ suspects that my foot should be pretty much healed after the thirty days.
Bad thing that I have noticed about all nursing homes is you don’t get your bedtime pills the first night.
The iPad went into low power mode with a thirty second screen timeout despite being more than half charged.

Uncle--Glad the reunion went well, and you had a good time. Yesterday wife and I drove by an elementary school and saw a school bus parked in front of the school. Knowing students are not back, wondered what it was doing there. Saw adults get off assumed they were teachers. Must have taken them on a field trip somewhere. Wondered if you ever had teachers/administrators on a trip. Astros need a couple of wins this week.
Ed--A couple of years ago I had a similar itch but was able to get into a dermatologist who prescribed a cream. He gave me two small sample jars as it was OTC. Saved one sample for travel kit. Large bottle cost me nothing as my insurance covers $110 worth of OTC every three month. But under $3 is good.
Sneakers--Was wondering if the new nursing home has the soft drinks, you like. Those Alexa things have some advantages. Maybe the next Best Buy gift card. But our refrigerator is giving us a problem again so may need it as a down payment. Hope things work our at the new place and at the end of 30 days you can go home.
Wife's younger sister who is recovering from cancer found some lumps. Had the youngest sister take her to the oncologist. It was a long day and younger sister posts on Facebook "Waiting all day at oncologist. Need prayer." Makes family think she has cancer. Sister with cancer was told after multiple test they are going to put her on 15 treatments of radiation. Since she is staying in SP, if these are daily trips and she can't drive after the treatment, she may end up living with us for 2 weeks. But wife and I think they will not be daily as the oncologist office is not open on weekends. See what happens.
Made a Sam's stop, but they were out of a couple of items we wanted. Watched Olympics last night.

Today it rained and rained and rained some more. Didn't do much beyond picking up some groceries at Joe Randazzo's Produce and some melatonin at Walmart.
The bite is losing it's bump but is still red with a lighter red zone around it. Have to use the cream for a full 7 days. We are going out of town on Friday so I will need to remember to take it with me.

soutxed, whenever I've done a charter, there were adults on the bus. But not all adults to a school. Not sure what they could have been doing. Perhaps taking teachers from other schools for a big meeting? Got a call yesterday as a reminder of when the policy, procedures and guidelines meeting is. It will be nice to get past that meeting. Then I'll know if I have any changes to deal with. sneakers (Metro Houston) and soutxed, as I write this, the Astros haven't given up a hit in the 9th. Valdez has thrown 95 pitches. Hopefully he won't be fatigued. Take care everyone.

New place has no soft drinks and no Alexa. And very few of my medications. The staff expects a late night pharmacy delivery. Able to get to the bathroom and then back in bed without assistance. I am sweaty and shaking right now. Nurse just checked on me.

Sneakers--May need delivery of soft drinks, but then with no Alexa, will you be able to call home and get AJ or someone to bring drinks. Can you bring Alexa from home?
Uncle--Astros gave up two runs in the bottom of the 9th, so no no-hitter. Monday the school district had the start of school assembly and probably bussed teachers to wherever they had the meeting. Hopefully the leaders can make the meeting interesting. One thing I don't miss are the in-service meetings before school started. One year I had jury duty during those 4 days. Was teased I was the hold out juror, but it wasn't me.
Ed--Does the bite still bother you? Did the rain cause an increase in pain? I had one of those irritation many years ago. Right now, we could use some rain. The experts are saying our water shortage is not caused by Mexico not releasing water, but the lack of rain in the watershed. Forgot to mention, I saw your governor on one of the late-night shows and was impressed. Forgot about what she went through during covid. Impressed she wants to talk to those who threatened to kidnap her. Our Governor would have blamed the illegals.
Getting the drone video of the drainage ditch was a highlight. Shows the grass and brush overgrown and needing the city to do something. Posted on social media and sent a copy to the mayor. That and getting the new Poarch light up. Needed help from nephew.
Wife talked to sister getting radiation. Appears Medicare will not cover all of it and she will need $600-$900 to cover the cost. Probably will have to help her with those expenses.
Everyone take care.

Hello, Sneakers. It's got to be tough moving into a new place and fitting into someone else's routine. But I guess a rehabilitation center has to do what's most efficient to get their mission done. Did your meds catch up with you? I looked at the Brighton/Webster website, and it's a nice looking facility. Hope you like it there.
Good Morning, Uncle. That was a shame the Astro pitcher, Valdez, lost his no hitter with two outs in the ninth. I read this morning that's the second time Corey Seager has broken up a no hitter with two outs in the ninth. A tip of the cap to his competitiveness! I hope your meeting goes well and there won't be any major changes in your route this year. This will be my 20th year since retirement, and I still get that rush when people talk about the first day of school.
Hi, soutxed. I agree about your drone footage. Actually seeing something has a bigger impact that a letter or phone call. I wonder if your mayor will do anything. Like Ed mentioned, we had some real downpours yesterday. At least the jet stream will push the remnants of Hurricane Debby far east of here. My brother, who lives in the Sarasota-Bradenton area of Florida had 16.57 inches of rain on Monday. Their subdivision was cut off for awhile, and the lake behind their house and their swimming pool overflowed, but the water is receding with no real property damage. Luckily the house is on higher ground.

I have a cell phone with me. Can’t bring Alexa because it requires Wi-Fi to work. I have cellular data on the iPad so I can surf the Internet and comment on GBO.
