Also, nice to see Jimmy Kimmel back doing his show. He takes the summer off and he hasn't forgotten about Donald Trump. I am still rehabbing and I don’t get to see ABC because DirecTV and Disney are having a dispute over carriage fees. if I was at home, I would get ABC on Comcast Xfinity but I don’t think I’ll get sprung from the rehab facility until at least Monday. His next show won't be until Monday, so hopefully you can see his next show.

lorando (NW PA), my route has about 24 students and 7 are new. One driver had 65 and her bus couldn't take anymore with 2 stop still to go. With 24 students and most of them same as last year, I can get to know what to expect each morning and afternoon. Fingers crossed I don't get any new ones this coming week. Our company and school boards have an app where the parents can see where the bus is. A scanner for when the kids get on would be really something. Yes, we will have to see what The Steelers do Sunday. Everyone wants a good start! Every season Russell Wilson played for Seattle, he played 16 games, except for the last one. He played 14. So it might be age giving him an injury. soutxed, I hope the districts that have scanning, get the student to scan when they got off as well. Now and then we have a student that got off at the wrong stop. We send available drivers out to look for them. Also, some get on the wrong bus too. Mostly at the beginning of the school year though. TVs on the buses would really be something, but I'll probably never see that. When I had the flat, the feel of the bus seemed okay. I suppose the other 3 rear tires made up for it. Take care everyone.

Sneakers--The stories I hear about some hospitals are that the one's owned by for profit corporations are looking at what patients bring the most profit. Some situations are where Medicare patients, especially those who don't have supplements are not profitable after a certain time. Our local hospitals have been taken over by corporations. The story went on to say these corporations try not to admit Juvenals from the ER as they make more on them when they are in the ER. Another problem here in the valley is the high rate of uninsured people, and it isn't just illegals. I agree many patients don't like the food because they are ill. But I sampled my wife's plate, and the alleged fruit cocktail was bad.
Uncle--TVs on the bus are connected to the camera so driver can see the passengers better, also, some buses have a camera outside by the door so driver can see students board better. Did you ever take athletic teams to out of town games? I always wonder what that is like now.
Stayed home yesterday and rested some. Watched UT defeat Michigan (sorry Ed), Texas State (granddaughters' school) demolish UTSA and part of University of Houston losing to Oklahoma. Part of the last game we watched from the old wine house. For a Saturday night there were not many customers. Sad. Needed to stay in Harlingen as we thought SIL wasn't feeling well and might have to go to ER. But she did well. Waiting to see if she will get Chemo of Tuesday. If so, it would be our turn to provide transportation, but we have HEB luncheon. Also, our financial situation hasn't been cleared up so we can't help her financially yet. Not going over with the rest of the family.
Church today and our music director is in Florida for her granddaughter's birthday. See what happens.

Most of ours are not-for-profit. About the only ones owned by corporations are owned by HCA. Never heard of keeping people in the ER to increase profits. ERs are usually unprofitable because of EMTALA. Texas has the highest uninsured rate in the United States, How can a hospital mess up fruit cocktail? That should be the most idiotproof dish in a kitchen.

Good Afternoon, Uncle. It's a beautiful cool day. I turned on the heat last; It was 45 degrees this morning when I went out, and I'm noticing some trees are changing. Don't know why that's newsworthy. That's the way it's suppose to work. Your poor colleague! 65 kids on a bus. She should get combat pay. That app that shows the location of the bus should keep the kids from freezing their tails off at the bus stop when the bus is delayed. Wish I had had that in high school. The Steelers started with a win! Justin Fields did enough, and their kicker did all the scoring, with field goals of 24, 44, 46, 51, 56, and 57 yards.
Hello, Sneakers. Maybe this is the week you'll get those discharge papers. But it seems you could be in a worse place. I filled up last week with an mpg of 41.2. That's the best ever. I haven't run the climate control lately since it's been cool enough to just open the windows a bit. But with the winter coming, running the heater, and the refinery switching to it's winter blend, it will be back down to about 28 in no time.
Hello, soutxed. Interesting discussion you and Sneakers are having about hospitals in your areas. Our local hospital is a small, non-profit, with only a little over 200 beds. For anything complicated most folks go to Erie or Pittsburgh, and the gold standard is the Cleveland Clinic, but that's almost 2 hours away. Our retired pastor said mass this morning for us. It was great to catch up. Our pastor didn't have a heart attack after all. He had a blocked renal artery that spiked up his blood pressure. They successfully inserted a stent on Tuesday, and he'll be back next week. How do you like the new NFL kick-off procedure. I like it--just adds to the options the teams have. Hope you have a calm week.

Hopefully not Wednesday. The weather is expected to be stormy. The speech therapist watched me drink a bottle of Lipton Peach Tea to determine how well I swallowed. My first medication of the day didn’t come until about four o’clock in the afternoon. I was beginning to notice its absence. Sweating and shaking. I did complain to the Director of Nursing who was working today. Just a week until most of the country switches to winter blend. I think it’s another month in California. They have their own unique blend of gasoline there.

Uncle: I give you much credit for taking on the responsibility of driving these students to school. Twenty-four students is a lot but I cannot even imagine having 65 students with 2 more stops to go. Some of the students must have been standing in the aisle. I don't know how big the buses are/how many seats there are, but that is soooo crazy. I would think the buses are standard size no matter where you live.
Sneakers: How does Isaiah like his job? What does he do at Macy's? I hope you get out this week but not Wednesday if it is going to be stormy. Good luck this week.
lorando: I will not put my heat on in here. The air is so dry. When I turn on the heat pumps, I will need humidifiers which I don't have yet. I have a lot of expenses right now to purchase those right now. I live on the 2nd floor so if the guy downstairs has his on, the heat rises. I have not felt cold so I will wait until it does feel chilly. What is the new NFL kickoff like? I don't see football as I am still working on Sundays.
Soutxed: I hope your SIL continues to get chemo and she eventually does not get so sick from it. It must be very difficult for family as she needs rides and the financial help. That is very stressful. Where it is your turn and you have a HEB luncheon, can someone else drive her? I hope so as you need time out too.
Have a pleasant week ahead Everyone!!

Sneakers--You are right about Texas having the highest rate of uninsured patients. Hope this disturbance doesn't come your way but that is what it looks like. The fruit cocktail appeared to have been left out and sort of dried up.
Lorando--Good to hear about your priest coming back soon. We haven't washed our car in weeks as so many days we have had rain predicted. Today is another one with the disturbance just offshore. For some reason, there are five new car washes being built in Harlingen. One theory is the cartel is using them as cover for their income and no plans to make a profit. The for-profit hospitals in the country were the subject of two articles I read recently. One in Reader's Digest and one in the local newspaper. Cowboys looked good in their opener. Still not sure about the kickoff rule. Doesn't seem to make much difference to me.
Patty--Long term forcast doesn't show a need for heaters. Yesterday morning was cool, jacket needed. But when I got out of church it was warm, but no triple digits. We are wishing the best for SIL this week. Not sure if she will take chemo this week. Hasn't returned phone calls.
Woke up with my cold back. Suppose to sign papers with financial advisor today and get our situation worked out. Hope I feel up to making the trip to Brownsville.
Not much yesterday, church, ate out and came home to watch football.

AJ said Isaiah likes his work at Macy’s better than he did JCPenney. Haven’t heard what he does. Just heard the weather guess on KHOU Channel 11 and they are expecting Tuesday and Wednesday to be stormy.

Good Morning, Sneakers. Really? I didn't realize the switch to winter blend was so early. Just came back from getting the RSV vaccine. The pharmacist said at the moment it's a one-and done immunization, but she expects changes to that any day now, as the data is processed. Glad Isaiah likes his job at Macys.
Hi, soutxed. Is the timing of Chemo treatments critical, or can a person miss one without starting over again? Hope things work out for your SIL. Tough situation!
Hi, Patty. I'm probably the wrong person to ask about the new kickoff rules, but I'll give it a shot as I understand them: 1. Kicker kicks from his own 35 yard line. The other 10 line up on receiving team's 40. 2. 9 blockers on receiving team line up between their 30-35 yard line, with 2 receivers playing farther back. 3. Kicker can kick into the end zone on the fly, and the ball comes out to the 30 yard line (touchback) or He can aim for the "Landing Zone" between receiving team's 20-End Zone, and the ball is in play. 4. If the kick doesn't reach the "Landing Zone" it comes out to the 40. 4. Complicated, eh? I guess the purpose is to avoid full speed contact and lessen injuries.

Saw the weather guess about an hour ago. Francine to be is shifting to go more towards Louisiana and less towards Houston. But they said pay attention to the guessers the next 48 hours. Sounds like a kitchen can actually mess up fruit cocktail.

I bought a copy of the technical specifications for gasoline a few years ago. All the stuff you know about gasoline documented and a number of things you didn’t know. The next time I’m going to HEB I’m planning to get vaxxed up. I need to have the RSV vaccine and a couple of annual shots. Wonder if you can get all three in one session unless I get a flu shot here. I gave them consent to do it when I came here. Just had my morning in-bed physical therapy. Just had the first pills of the day. Got them earlier than yesterday. Listening to SiriusXM Classic Vinyl. The DJ told about her colonoscopy, going to sleep to Classic Vinyl. She did on-air shout out to her medical team. in an hour I’ll turn on the noon KPRC Channel 2 news and see the latest weather guess. See if the tropical depression gets upgraded to Francine. Hopefully it will mostly miss Houston and go into Louisiana. e

Just got a text pop-up on the iPad. The storm out in the Gulf is now officially Tropical Storm Francine.
Going to watch the noon weather guess and see if there’s any change to the projected storm path. Track is still shifting to Louisiana.

I prefer hospital food to McDonald’s and have never asked AJ to bring me food. One time, AJ was hungry and went to the drive through at McDonald’s to order a $5 value meal. I told him I was just thirsty and got a large Diet Coke. I prefer pretty much any food to McDonald’s. Back in 2016 I went to McDonald’s with some coworkers for lunch. I got a quarter pounder meal and it really sucked. Haven't been back to any except for a breakfast sandwich or an ice cream cone.

Sneakers--You are right about Texas having the highest rate of uninsured patients.
My step son says that's because of Texas' close proximity to Mexico that businesses can just tell workers they will send jobs south if they demand health care.
