Dang! We don't need both of you down. AJ's chest pains are self-inflicted, he smokes. I just seem to come down with things. Last time I went in the hospital, it was for cystitis (bladder infection). Last time you went in the hospital it cost you another big toe.

Blood donation didn't go so well lest night. Only donated 370ml instead of the maximum of 896ml (30.2oz). It was flowing very slowly, so they switched arms to inject the saline, which it what they do at the end each time. I could have continued using my other arm, but didn't want to take a chance of it failing too. If it failed, I wouldn't be able to donate next week at least. soutxed, the NFL is set up perfectly with 32 teams and eight divisions. The schedule the way you stated, means each team plays all the teams at least once every four years. Back the way it was before, some teams only played each other 3 times over 18 years or something like that. I remember hearing that at one point. Glad to hear you have good mechanics to work on your truck. The dealership I got to does a good, honest job too. The Cowboys won, which I though they would. Back to a .500 record. lorando (NW PA), yes, it will be nice to have my Tuesday bowling team back together. Not sure what will happen with the two players we had this week. I do hope they called them. I didn't realise the KC Royals and Seattle Pilots entered the AL two years early. It was the same season as Montreal and San Diego, so I thought it was planned that way. I've gotten used to my new stops. A good driver looks for land marks for each stop and where to turn. Thursday I got yet another new student. A kindergarten girl. As I approached the stop, was a second mother and child standing there and wondered are they from my schools. The child and mother were smiling and seemed happy, which is a relief. patty7841, I do feel a little guilty when I have to head out. I try to pet my cat just before I leave, if I can figure out where she is. I'll be looking forward to January when all my bowling teammates can play. Curling will start this coming Wednesday. So I'll be busy in the middle week evenings now. TGIF! Take care everyone.

Soutxed and lorando: Thank you for noting my tooth extraction. It could have been a lot worse if I needed a bone graft. It would have cost me a heck of a lot more too.
Sneakers: Hope you get out soon from rehab after you see Dr. Clause Tuesday. Hope AJ is OK. Second hand smoke is not good for anyone in the household. Hope AJ goes outside to smoke.
Ed: You have a good memory.
Uncle: That will be great when all your bowling teammates can play in January. That is something to look forward to. Good luck at curling next Wednesday. Hope your knees will be OK.
Have a good weekend Everyone!!

Last time you went in the hospital it cost you another big toe. I went in and lost the left big toe the end of July. I went back to Houston Methodist the middle of September with a urinary tract infection for two days.

I thought I was about ready to go home when I bounced back to the hospital. I haven't heard a release date for the nursing home.
The hospital wanted to hold AJ overnight but he checked out Against Medical Advice because he gets very restless in the hospital. I'm much better at relaxing in a medical situation.
AJ smokes some inside and some outside. He smokes inside in the dining room. The HVAC has a duct that goes into the business room and keeps it quite smoke-free.

Lorando--Yankees are in, Astros are in. Maybe they will meet in the AL finals. That storm will affect so many people. Saw 44 dead already. Wonder how many were those too stubborn to evacuate. Some are probably people trying to cut fallen trees.
Sneakers--I know people like AJ who get impatient and leave a hospital before they are released. We did that for a BIL many years ago only because at 9AM the nurses said he is good to go as soon as the doctor signed the paperwork. Come 4 PM still no signature caretaker sister decided to take patient home.
Uncle--Too bad about the blood donation, but those things happen. Hope the new student works out. It will seem like a long time until January. I like the current schedule set up but wonder how it will change when the NFL goes to 18 games.
Patty--The extraction could be worse, but look at the bright side, you got it done.
Yesterday the people came and sealed the house and put some mouse traps. Already caught a three mice and a snake.
Then I could not find the keys to my wife's car. Had one of those trackers but another time when I couldn't find them the tracker app on the phone didn't work so I tossed. Still cannot find them. Hope they turn up soon. Will get a replacement tracker from Tile. Have it on other keys.
Good news about the pickup. Took the battery to Auto Zone and they said it was dead and under warranty. Gave me another which I took to the mechanic. They installed it and working well. Also, since I am a regular customer, there was no charge.
Worked our game and we won, but the QB was injured and may be out for the season. We were playing a team with no wins and didn't look that good. Had a female official and she did a good job. Even stepped in when two plays much bigger than her started to get into a fight.
Funeral today if wife is feeling up to it. She stopped taking a medication that was making her so sleepy all the time.
Everyone have a good Saturday.

Come 4 PM still no signature caretaker sister decided to take patient home. Never got impatient enough to leave the hospital. Although when I was born I had to stay in the hospital for a month because I was a small baby. The hospital called to say I could go home and Mom said she wasn't ready to take me home and a storm was coming. So, I got to wait to the next morning.Good news about the pickup. Also, since I am a regular customer, there was no charge. Only battery that I remember failing wasn't under warranty. Failed when I was on vacation, died at the Shell station in Buckner, MO where I grew up outside of town. Had to buy a battery but I was only delayed a couple of hours.

Wound care nurse came around this (Saturday) afternoon and decided I didn't need a bandage on my left foot any more. She just left me wearing only a non-skid yellow and white hospital sock.

Sneakers--The bandage off the foot may be an indication of going home soon. How is AJ doing? Will be much help?
Went to funeral but got their late and sat in the back of the church. Their sound system was bad, and we could not understand a word the priest said, but since it was a Catholic mass, most of the ritual was the same. Went to the cemetery and the nats were so bad you could see most people swatting during the entire ceremony. At least the lunch went well.
From there we did a Sam's stop and picked up a few groceries we needed.
Wife wanted to go out with another couple, but they had to cancel at the last minute due to a family get together. We went a place I could watch the Alabama-Georgia game. Wife got a text message from a niece about one of her brothers. But it said another sister would call her but given the normal communication with the sisters, wife had no call. So she called sister and found out brother is in the hospital and not doing well. He was a science teacher and fights with the doctors and nurses claiming he knows more than they do. Sad.
Everyone have a good Sunday.

Sneakers--The bandage off the foot may be an indication of going home soon. I can always hope that I can go home soon.Haven't talked to him since last night. He was OK then.I'm pretty self-sufficient except I no longer drive. The Escape is not running and I won't drive the Tundra.

Good Afternoon, Sneakers. Another cloudy-drizzly day today, with 67°F temp at 1:45. But it's almost October, so no complaints. I went in to church an hour later this morning to give the resident bats a chance to settle down after a long night of doing bat things. I'll be glad to see Standard time again (earlier dawn), and some colder weather, to put them into Winter-Inactive mode. Heard several coughs and sneezes for the first time in awhile, so I guess it will be time to don the masks again soon.
Hi, soutxed. Thanks to the Astros for beating Cleveland, giving the Yankees home field advantage in the AL playoffs. Not too much thanks though, since the Yankees have a better winning % in the road (0.617) than they do at home (0.538). Hmmm! Is this another Astros trick??🤔 Too bad your wife's brother doesn't believe what his doctors tell him. Sounds like he and A.J. could start a club. I can't criticize though, since I should do a lot better.
Hello, Uncle. I bet you have the possible winter trouble spots on your route all figured out, plus an alternate route if needed. If I remember, I think you said any backing up requires a supervisor's ok, or presence.. That could ruin your day! Do you only have the one elementary route this year, or do you have another one (or 2)? Our drivers usually had 3, one at each level. That's how the times were staggered from high school to middle school to elementary. I'm watching the Steeler-Colts game. Looks like the list of undefeated teams will be soon be shorter. But there's still a quarter to go. Are your knees ready for Curling? Good Luck on Wednesday.
Hi, Patty, My great niece had her first art showing at a gallery in Boston recently. Don't know where she got her talent. I'm pretty sure it wasn't from my side of the family! My brother and I are both clearly left-brained. Hope you have a week that's way above average!!

Heard several coughs and sneezes for the first time in awhile, so I guess it will be time to don the masks again soon. Watched the morning news on ABC 13. Then streamed Cousin Martha's Church service. They usually start the streaming about five minutes early but they didn't today. Joined in about four minutes after they started and they were already running the announcements. No response to the altar call today. Joined Joel Osteen in progress after Martha's service, then called Kerry Shook. Watching the Texans game (Texans won) and the Chiefs game (Chiefs up by seven with less than a minute to go). During halftime on the Texans game, I went up to the vending machines. Got two 1.55-ounce Nestle Crunch bars (they didn't have M&M's). a Diet Coke, and a Snapple Fruit Punch.Hi, soutxed. I can't criticize though, since I should do a lot better. AJ gets very anxious being in any medical facility. I invited him to come have Thanksgiving diener at Ignite. He graciously turned me down and fixed dinner at home. He said he was going to bring me a plate for supper but he didn't. He didn't didn't come for Christmas either.

Soutxed: The extraction has not been bad post-operatively. However, I bit down on a green grape this evening, after getting out of work, as I forgotten to eat the grape on the other side. I won't forget again until it is fully healed. I am not even using my CPAP machine until it is cleared up. Too much pressure on an extraction site is not good.
Sneakers: Hope you get out of the nursing/rehab place soon, like this week. Maybe after Dr. Clause sees you this week, you will be good to get out of the facility.
Uncle: I hope that your blood donation goes better this week than last week. For You and Sneakers (former blood doner), I give both of you so much credit to be able to do blood donations. Enjoy your week ahead.
lorando: Thanks for wishing me a good week ahead. I hope that you, too, have a pleasant week. I don't even know what the weather is going to be this week. I just know that it gets dark so early now. Not at all fun.
Have a nice Monday Everyone!!

Saw this on the Christian thread and decided to quote it here. That's good news you finally got it going

patty7841, I'll bet my legs will be complaining the most after Wednesday's game. We get a bye week in each half of the season. Our first one will be December 11th, which is just what I wanted. We get a few Thursdays off during the school year and nothing better than curling until 9pm on a Wednesday, and being able to sleep in the next day. Doesn't happen often for me these days. A bye week a few other times wouldn't give that me that tiny reward. I have confidence my next blood donation will go well. soutxed, the Yankees and Astros could meet in the playoffs, but Houston has to deal with the red hot Tigers first. Not sure what to make out of Detroit's late season surge. I've had worse blood donations. We will try for the maximum this week. I'm also curious what the NFL will do with the 18th game. Another game in the conference might be best. Excellent news about your truck. A new battery and no cost. That is a good place to go to. Sorry to hear about the bad experience at the funeral. lorando (NW PA), my route should be okay with winter roads. As long as I don't try to be in a hurry. I'm already looking forward to spring. Yes, they don't like us backing up a school bus. We have to get the okay from dispatch and then it's a specific procedure. I don't anticipate doing that much. Same as last year, I have only one elementary route to do. Unless I'm ask to fill in for another before mine. That would be for a middle or high school route. The exception to that would be a catholic route. They could be all grades on one bus. Only two 4 and 0 teams and Seattle's 3 and 0 record could have a 1 added to it Monday. Just two winless teams and Tennessee could win Monday and change that. The season is almost one quarter over. Bowling is worse for my knees. I say that now. Take care everyone.
