Sneakers--Wonder what is going on with your medical staff. They can't seem to agree on when you can leave. But I know you are not too anxious to leave, but election day is 3 weeks away and you turned down a mail in ballot. You might want to wait until you get home to buy a new laptop. Easier to break in from home.
Ed--Good point, Detroit did have a revenge factor in the game. Wow 54 degrees, we were in the mid 90s here.
Patty--Good luck with the MRI, hoping for good results. Also, in your job search that you can find something less stressful.
Lorando--Mets took it to the Dodgers. Didn't get to see Yankees game. Who went to the convention or was it just church members. As a Methodist church holds a convention of all churches in a given geographical area. Often there is a vote to combine or shut down churches. There are times I've had a cold for one or two months. A few years ago I had to delay getting a flu shot until November as I had a cold from Labor Day to early November.
Uncle--Hope your Thanksgiving Day went well. After Sunday's game, Jerry Jones should fire himself. I agree but don't expect it to happen. A free meal and an award the same day. I only got that on retirement day.
Wife's 1 PM appointment was moved to November.
Also, no prayer gathering at church due to holiday.
Did get replacement motion detector light up. It was charged.
Wife has appointment this morning and then I have one this afternoon. Hope to get ear cleaned out.

I'm wondering what is going on. Last night, I didn't feel well. Night nurse listened to my belly with a stethoscope and decided to give me a stool softener. Fell asleep, woke up about six o'clock in the morning and made a comfort stop. Feel like I'm going to sleep again.

Good Morning, soutxed. I watched the Yankee/Guardians game last night. Glad Rodon kept his composure. He's a bit, shall we say, high strung when he pitches. Yankees are winning, but they sure aren't at their best. But a win is a win! We had 2 members and our priest at the convention. Our priest is the only Lutheran pastor in either of the dioceses. It was in Erie this year, and will be in Buffalo in 2025. Maybe I'll volunteer to go next year. But who knows what Buffalo weather in October could be! Glad you got your motion detector installed. Does it turn on floodlights in the yard? I had that when I owned my house in NJ. It was usually triggered by the groundhog that lived under my shed, but often a deer, opossum, or skunk would wander through. Never a bear though (that I know of). The lights usually came on about 3 times per night.
Mornin' Uncle. Your Catholic School traffic jam reminds me of my high school trip to the World's Fair in New York in 1964. The whole school went. That was quite a convoy of busses. The Steelers really haven't found their identity yet. Usually by now you can tell if a team will be competitive or not. No clue this year, especially the offense. It's like watching an experiment in progress. Happy bowling tonight!
Hi, Sneakers. It's a cool, but sunny fall day in NW PA, with the high temperature not getting out of the 40s. But there's a gradual warming trend for the rest of the week. The cooler temps motivated me to get online this morning and order some new every day winter wear. Some of the old sweatshirts, jeans, wool socks, and thermal layers were getting a bit threadbare. That's an expense you don't have to worry about in Houston. Still haven't received my photo license card to take to the photo center, but that's ok. They're only open Thursday through Saturday anyway. They're busiest at the beginning and end of the month, so later this week would be ideal. Fingers crossed.

We've got one more 90-odd degree day today, then we will have half the temperature in the morning tomorrow or Thursday.
It's cold enough in the winter to wear sweatshirts some in Houston, but you wouldn't need wool socks or thermal layers.
Hopefully you'll get your photo license card soon.

soutxed, Jerry Jones runs the team. He can only look at himself and what he's done with the team. Perhaps they will have a winning streak for all we know. He's a different kind of owner. The Texans are having a good season. Maybe they will do something this year. lorando (NW PA), one thing you can say about the Steelers, they haven't changed coaches recently. Consistency has to count for something. Hoping for a good evening of bowl tonight. Not many leaves on the trees around here. How about your area? Take care everyone.

Got my physical therapy in the one o'clock hour this hour. My physical therapist was out of the gym and one of the other therapists helped me on and off the elliptical. My physical therapist could tell I was tired today. I told him about last night.
The high school across the street from the nursing home was having classes today.
Got to do some standing up and sitting down from the wheelchair and walking around with the walker.
The center toe on my left foot has been bleeding. I got the foot bandaged but the staff took off the bandage to take a picture of the toe. The custodian cleaned up the blood on the floor with a bleach solution.
The staff didn't wake me up for supper. I woke up and supper was mostly cold.
We got up to 98 today in Houston. Tomorrow will be cooler than today.
Taxable brokerage account was up 0.38% today.

Sneakers--Caretaker sister would have sent the meal to the nurses' station to reheat. Sounds like a good night's sleep. The front is supposed to come through here Thursday but won't make much difference in the temperature. Schools in Harlingen are closed for the whole week. Something called fall break.
Lorando--What I installed was a motion detector light on the side of the house. It is where when we get the chance we like to sit at the end of the day. Haven't done it much lately, but maybe this fall. Watched part of the Yankees - Gradians game. Normally a Cleveland fan but would like to see a World Series with the two best players go against each other. I know Fox would like a game with the two largest market teams. The United Methodist Conference was in June in Corpus Christi. The Global church we are in now holds their conference in Waco in October. That would be a problem for me to attend and not the best weather.
Uncle--The Texans are doing well. Maybe will get a Texan shirt to wear. Cowboys will not lose this weekend as this is the bye week. How did bowling go? Plenty of leaves right now.
Wife's liver scan went well. Worse is the waiting area in radiology at the local hospital. No cell service. Also, TV is on Fox News. Most waiting areas do not show news channels anymore. One doctor's office has theirs on TWC, the eye doctor is Home and Garden Channel. Allergist is ABC .
My doctor's appointment went well, Bloodwork came back with no issues. Got the wax removed from my ear. SO good to hear again.
Now my toe is bothering me.

Texas schools are always having breaks, we didn't get fall or spring breaks in Missouri when I went to school.Wife's liver scan went well. The only time I found a waiting room TV obnoxious was at the HCA Houston Clear Lake ER which had MSNBC. This was when we had President Trump which MSNBC could never say anything good about. Never really noticed what the TV in my doctors' waiting rooms are set to.

Good Morning, Sneakers. Wow! 98°! That sounds unbearable to me now, but it will sound much better in January! Tomorrow begins our 9-day (at least) string of sunny, warmish days. Did you get caught up on your sleep last night? Sounds like you were worn out from the P.T. session.
Mornin', Uncle. Latest rumor is that Russell Wilson might start this week. We'll probably not know until kick-off time. I watched the Yankee-Guardians game last night, and the Yankees keep winning, even if they look kind of clueless at times. I read the quote by John Sterling, the Yankees 86 year old play by play announcer. He unretired to call the post season games. He said of the Yankee baserunning: "Boy if that wasn’t the Yankees, that’s what they do. Run the bases like a bunch of drunks.” Kind of brutal, but not too far off. Trees here are just about at peak color - maybe another week. We're at 41.4 north latitude, and you're at 49.7, so there's quite a difference. Hope you knocked down a lot of pins last night!
Hi, soutxed. That's interesting about the different stations playing in the waiting rooms. I never thought about it. My eye doc has Better Homes & Gardens too. Dentist has a Cleveland tv station (not sure which network, but not the all-news variety. Primary care doc doesn't have a tv. Yes, the Texans are looking good again. Will they ever be considered The Texas Team?

IIRC, the previous high temperature yesterday was 92 degrees. We blew that away bigtime.
The long-range forecast has temperatures going up to the upper 80s as highs the next ten days. Guesstimate has the temperature up to 74 this afternoon.
I slept considerably better last night.
I was tired yesterday but today I slept pretty well but woke up a few times in the middle of the night.
I went to the pop machine and bought a bottle of Diet Coke that was not chilled down enough. I could tell they just refilled the machine.
Went out and saw how my taxable brokerage account is doing today. So far today, it was down 0.03% on the day.
My roommate is not as healthy as I am. He is an insulin-dependent diabetic. They just checked his blood sugar level and it was 201. He got a dose of insulin.

Didn't get physical therapy today. Don't know if my physical therapist was out sick today, but he didn't show up in my room.
Taxable brokerage account down 0.45% today.
Supper was chicken pot pie, diced potatoes, a roll. a cup of banana and strawberry chunks, and iced tea. Decided not to finish off the diced potatoes, they didn't taste like much of anything. Consumed everything else.
Went and got a bottle of Snapple Apple at seven o'clock in the evening.
Watched about ninety minutes of the FOX News Channel, then the FOX 26 nine o'clock news, and finally the KPRC Channel 2 ten o'clock news. Now switched over to Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Only talked to AJ this evening. Didn't call any family members. Isaiah is still in the hospital having collapsed lung problems.
AJ told me that Michelle got bored and decided to clean up my business room. The accumulated snail mail is now in a box.
Saw ten day weather guess on the ten o'clock news. They are expecting the temperature to be in the upper 80's in a few days.
Center toe on my left foot has a problem that looks like I wore out the skin on the toe.
Plan to sell some stock tomorrow morning. AJ has maxed out my three credit cards. Otherwise, no money coming in until the 23rd.

Sneakers--Same when I was in school and started teaching in the late 60s, (2 days at Thanksgiving, 2 weeks at Christmas, and 4 days at Easter) holidays. Also, a couple of teacher workdays, not a holiday for me, but for the students. Yes, caretaker sister was a general nuisance which is why the nursing home was glad for them to leave. Now she is taking care of younger sister with cancer at her home, but it is too much. Cancer sister has no clue what her insurance covers and said she bought it online and no agent to contact to see if they will provide a caretaker. During the 2016 election, wife's doctor had CNN and a patient in the waiting area complained. Sadly no one in the office could find the remote. Patient got up and left and the rest of us applauded.
Lorando--Maybe one day Texans will be the Texas team. Russell Wilson might start this week. Hope so. We were in the low 90s yeaterday but cooler temperatures expected today. Also, we got some rain during the night. Also heard thunder.
Got a scare yesterday. Went to Brownsville for wife to get a free gift from Dillard's. I walked the mall with little breathing problems. We went to eat and then went to another shopping area. Decided to go to Acadamy but became very breathless there. Went back to car and sat for 5 minutes before I could drive to pick up wife at another store.
She drove home and I sat in recliner and watched taped Jeopardy shows. But then my breathing acted up again. Decided to go to ER, but the walk to the car had me breathing heavily. Decided to call EMS. They came and took vitals including an EKG. My pulse was up some and BP was a little high when they arrived but went down to normal. After some discussion they suggested my BP medication which I have taken for years may be the cause. So will go to doctor today as a walk-in.
Hope all goes well.

Good Morning, Sneakers. I have to say that your meals sound delicious, even if it is institutional fare. Sounds like you'll have lots of mail to open when you get home. If it's like my mail, most of it will hit the trash can or shredder at first glance. Glad your temps are moderating, even though you're in a controlled environment. Do they seem to vary the day and night temps, or keep it the same 24/7? My heating/cooling system should get a rest for the next week or so, with mild days and cool nights.
Hi, soutxed. That sounds like a scary experience. I suppose being a walk-in at your doctor's office might take more time, but you do what you have to do. Hope it's a quick fix. No plans today, but a committee meeting tonight. It should be over before the first pitch of the AL championship game. Was there ever a time when there was a playoff day game, maybe when they first started? I doubt it. Wrigley Field was the only stadium with no lights in my memory. Never heard of a fall break for schools, but it all adds up to 180ish days in the end. We had the 2 Jewish holidays off in September, and now I think they close for Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights in Oct/Nov., so there's not that much difference.

Went to sleep early last night. Woke up about one o'clock this morning and made a comfort stop. Staff member walked in the room and thought I wasn't sleeping. I told him that I'd been asleep but I just woke up for a comfort stop.
Decided to key in a couple of stock sales at my brokerage to be acted on this morning when the market opened.
Stayed awake a while.
Breakfast was the usual. Toast, a sausage patty, a bowl of oatmeal sweetened with a jelly packet, and orange juice. Also got the scrambled eggs that I will not eat. Despite my menu slip having "No eggs" on it.
Called AJ. Told him I'd have some money tomorrow. He was driving to the hospital to pick up Isaiah. He will probably have to take my debit card tomorrow and go to an ATM to get cash. I would transfer the money to one of the credit cards but that would take to Monday.
Lunch came in right at noon. It was pretty good. A piece of chicken (which was impossibly bony), penne Alfredo, green beans, dinner roll, gingerbread cake, and iced tea. Gave up on the chicken because of the bones and consumed everything else.
Physical therapist usually shows up at one o'clock in the afternoon. It's 1:35 PM and no physical therapist.

Back when I was in elementary and high school, we only got between Christmas Eve and New Years' Day.
Cancer sister needs to call Customer Service for her insurance.
Thinking I'm going to get up and get something from the pop machine. I currently have about $23 in my checking account and a bottle of pop is $2.10; lots of $2.10 charges on my main checking account statement.
