Yes, the moon has been fun to see. I see it in the morning, and in the evening. Might meet up with a couple and their toddler son for a Paul's Pedaler team ride. I sent out an email asking the team about group rides, and so far, only this couple has answered. Wasn't asking to ride today, just in general. WE only have 4 weekends in May left, and we are out of town for two of them.

YES! 1.3 miles today, temps were an awesome 55°F and a breeze from the South. I was pondering taking the long way (7 miles vs 4) to a bus stop, to ride with the wind, and decided not to. Thinking about the nice day, since I am only needing a short sleeve jersey and a light wind breaker, and next I know, I am locking up the brakes on my bike, tire sliding out, realizing I wasn't getting out of this, let the brakes go and got tboned by a car turning in front of me. My bike and I ended up on his little white older sedan hood, he slams on the brakes, I then go flying 10-15 feet to the ground, landing on my butt, and bouncing around. I recover, limp up, drag my bike to the side of the road. Driver pulls forward. Another vehicle pulls up, asks if I am ok, asks if other driver called 911 I say I am ok and didn't know so he called 911. Two sheriffs and ambulance appear. Driver NEVER got out of his car. He rolled down rear passenger window and said sorry, he didn't see me. Cops take my statement, I reject ambulance ride since nothing broken on me. Cops finish with driver and he leaves. I don't know if he got ticket. Cop asked if I need a ride. I had called, texted, and called landline. This happened at 5:30 am, so mrs still sleeping, and no phones upstairs. He gave me a ride home. Another bump appearing, so he got another picture. Damages to me: Small bruises on left leg calf area, scratch on right calf area, and my right butt cheek is completely black and swollen and rock hard. About half a cantalope has been added to my butt. Visited urgent car, xray on leg, nothing broken. Referral for ortho, as when I was at the clinic, my right let and foot were getting numb. They didn't have CT or MRI on site. Cop gave me driver's name, ins co name, and policy #. One too long call to my car insurance. Mn no fault, they cover medical bills & mileage to appts. I asked about my bike. He said I have a $500 deductible, and bikes are not worth that much. I said mine is. I bought mine for over $2k, and it was on sale. He said he will press and push to get their car insurance liability to cover. Now I wait. All I know about my bike, is the rear wheel is severally bent. Seat is rotated due to me squeezing while flying. Bike bag ruined. I am not. I will survive.

Mtn biking with friends yesterday at Carver Lake Park in Woodbury. Lots of people there enjoying the great day. Almost 5 miles with them, and then almost 5 on my own. Fun times. Still skipping most of the obstacles during my recovery. Don't wanna damage more any already damaged area.

Wednesday afternoon I was able to ride out to Myre-Big Island State Park on the Blazing Star Trail. One big water puddle to ride through that was about a foot deep and about 50-60 feet across. Enjoyed the 12 mile ride. I did detour on the way back. Cleaned and lubed my bike and soon as I got home.
Signed up for the Shooting Star Trail Bike Ride again this year. Saturday June 23rd from Austin this year. A number of distance choices ranging from 4 miles for families to 100 miles. Good rest stops and support. I am looking at doing the 40 or 50 mile this year.

rodking, that looks like a fun ride. Will you get SPAM options at the end of the ride? And, free SPAM museum entrance!
I rode offroad 3 times over the weekend. 1st was Saturday with my wife at a bike demo. Unfortunately, they didn't have any women specific models, and not a lot of smalls. She rode a Pivot 5010, and didn't mind it. I rode a Speciliazed Fuse hardtail. Didn't feel too bad. then I brought her home so she could work, and I went and did a lap at a local off road trail. It started raining, so I didn't do a 2nd lap.
Sunday I went back to the trail we rode 1.7 miles on, and did the entire loop for 9.7 miles. Felt pretty good, but out of shape with no road bike, and the time I didn't quite make it over an obstacle, and stopped and leaned over a long ways down and landed on my left leg, that hurt a bit. Didn't fall, but just leaned over and put my foot down.

YES! Rode my mtn bike for Bike to Work Day. 59°F, mostly clear skies, and not much wind. Stopped off at the Bike to Work day event that started at 7 am. I was there at 7:23, 3 tables were set up, and one in the process. Seemed like a lot were not there yet. I shoulda went back later, to see how big it was. Sad they say it starts at 7, but people/vendors don't show up until later.
New CAADX Ultegra 2018 has been ordered. About a week for it to arrive at the shop. Very excited. Still waiting for other insurance co to determine 100% replacement value amount.
