YES!!!! Finally got the call my bike was ready. Picked it up last night. Felt a little humbled, when the main mechanic said to me, "You ride your bike a lot." 4.8 miles to the bus stop, in a toasty 38°F and cross winds. Winds are picking up, could be gusts in the 40s to 50s later, and rain. Gonna be an interesting ride home.
Day 13 of 30 Days of Biking.

Won't be long before the weather is in yer favor, CG. This has been a miserable Spring so far and even the marina is behind on their schedule for launching boats.

Yes! 13.4 miles home with the temp at 37°F, cloudy, cross windy, and most of the ride was in hail or sleet that hurt hitting my face. But, better than rain. Day 13 of 30DoB. SEM!

Yes! 2.05 miles around the neighborhood about half way thru a blizzard. Over a foot already, and winds around 20, gusting to 50 mph, and the temp was 28. Good times on the fat bike. SEM!

Yes! 5.02 miles to the bus stop in 25°F temps, cloudy, nice tail wind, and most of the road well plowed. Downtown wasn't so nice, and a lot of smooshed up snow that has been driven over and over and is slippery.

Yes several times over. Yesterday was a 12 mile ride home. It was fabulous. Not a cloud in the sky and 44°F. We haven't seen that in a long time (it seems).
Still doing 30 Days of Biking, and so far I have only missed one day. That day was a 12 hour trip in the car from Arkansas to MN, and when I got home, my bike was covered in ice from the blizzard we drove thru, so those tires wouldn't spin, or the crank, and fat bike had no pedals, and commmuter was in the shop. Too lazy to get the frozen peddles off the mtn bike and put on the fat bike to ride around the block to say I did it.

YES! 18.3 miles home yesterday for Day 18 of 30 Days of Biking. Yesterday the temp was 45F, but it felt colder than the prior day's 44. Prior day not a cloud in the sky. Yesterday, not an inch of blue showing. Amazing how that sun can change the feel.

It's been a horrendous start to 2018 due to my schedule and bad/cold weather on so many days I had off. Got in my 2nd ride of April today with 27.4 mi on the 3 wheel recumbent

Sounds like a nice ride afos. I agree, strange start to spring. Seems like the next 7 day forecast is looking much better, with only 1 day of precipitation (rain) expected 5.3 miles to the bus stop today with the temp at 32, clear skies and no wind. I wore the summer shoes and went back to the non studded tires.

Yes. 5.6 miles on a 30 Days of Biking event Saturday Pastry ride. Good time, good pastries. Then 22 miles home and around on a gorgeous, 60°F and mostly clear skies.
picturefreak, many people ride mountain bikes on pavement. Some people can only afford, or only want one bike. And you can do more with a mountain bike than a road bike. Yes, it is probably heavier, and a little more friction, but is that bad? Bonus workout some would call it.

Nope, no bikin' for me. CG, how's yer fund raiser going? We still have ice in our upper harbor, even tho my slip is open. No boats launched yet, and probably won't for at least another week or more. The boat storage yard is soft and in some places muddy. Gonna be a late start to this boating season.

Yes! 5.6 miles to the bus stop today in SHORTS! 38°F and heading to 70! Yesterday was a 22 mile ride for day 22 of 30 Days of Biking with the temps around 63°F and not much wind and mostly blue skies. BGJam, fundraising is going well. Steady. I have $3,320 at the moment, team is just shy of $10,000. 17 members out of 31 have raised funds so far. I still have many people that have donated in the past that have not donated yet. Maybe now with the nicer weather. My Tour de Cure page

ə we have had lots of inclement weather, plus i was sick over a week, which not only cost me a lot of biking time, but training for the grand blue mile race which is tomorrow. on the twelfth i biked a small distance to sign up for marr (i decided to bike because the event was too close to the grand blue mile to make running practical) which was last sat. that was about three km. on the twentieth, i biked downtown and back, to meet up with my blind friend and go to the meal site with her. that came to seven km. the marr was about 39k. i did more biking later. the total came to around fifty km. sun. saw me bike a short distance, about eight k, to and from church. today i got in just under seven. due to my illness and bad weather, i lost ten training days for the race! i thus started doubling up, running two miles instead. i have no idea if this is a correct procedure, but i did get in all twenty planned workouts though the time was bad for most. it should be warm enough to do without a shirt. after i run the grand blue mile tomorrow, i hope to get in a bit of training for the drake relays 5k, which is the 28th. btw, today was the first time since one day in feb. that i was able to be outside wearing only shorts and baseball cap (plus helmet of course when biking). ə

Yesterday ended up with 32.2 miles in 4 rides. I rode to and from the clinic for my diabetes Medtronic study, and then home from St Paul after a bus ride. Temp was 70 and blue skies, with a breeze that seemed in my face from every direction. BGJam, thank you oh so much for the additional Tour de Cure donation! Just WOW! nd, sorry to hear you have been sick, and the weather interfering with your training. Hope everything works out!
